Relationship between managers’ emotional intelligence and organizational effectiveness: A case study in Farhangian University

The goal of this study is to clarify existing relations between Emotional Coefficient and Organizational Effectiveness (OE) among Farhangian University managers during 2013-14. The sample size, according to Cochran formula, is 156 people, which were selected based on the simplified random sampling. Besides, two questionnaires were used having the reliability index of 0.87 and 0.97 respectively. The findings of this study suggested that there is a direct and positive relation between emotional intelligence along with its subscales including self-awareness, self-adjustment, self-motivation, compassion and social skills found in managers with organizational effectiveness in Farhangian University

Ahmadi Amineh, Paintings of The Nightmare, Master Thesis, Ankara, 2017. Analyzing the dreams and nightmares which were seen during sleep time and searching for meaning of them is a one way to reach to the subconscious of human beings to achieve the origin of their desires and fears in psychology science. In the same time, in the process of art creating, subconscious provided a rich repository for the artists in the several periods of history of art. In some art movements like surrealism, exploring of subconscious undertook the central position in the creation of art. From this point of view, we can find the relationship between psychology science and art world. Although the reality of having dreams or nightmares is common among all human beings but according to the distinctness of every individual, the modality of this reality is partly personal. The living style and life story of every mankind reflect in all dreams and nightmares which they have but there are so important commonalities in the psychological condition of all humanity in general. These commonalities are based on common fears and hopes of human beings and expressed themselves as symbols through history of culture and art. The origin of grotesque art genre which attaches more importance to the dark side of dreaming is found in the nightmares. The samples of such approach to the art can be found in all throughout history between different cultures. Grotesque art tries to deconstruct the habitual reality with anomaly, strangeness and terrifying attribute and it efforts to cross beyond all boundaries of normal things. By applying to this method, it takes aim at artistic originality. In this project, I set out on a journey to find a nutritional source for my paintings by linking the roots of grotesque art with my nightmares and dreams which were inspired by my own subconscious world. In this process, I took quotations from history of art and besides, I utilized illuminating helps from psychology. Piskoloji biliminde, uyku sırasında görülen düşler ve kabusları incelemek ve anlamlarını araştırmak, insanların bilinçaltına inerek onların arzular ve korkularının kaynağına ulaşmak için bir yöntem sayılır. Aynı zamanda bilinçaltı sanat tarihinde de dönem dönem sanatçıların yarattığı eserler için bir kaynak mahzeni olmuştur. Bilinçaltını araştırmak, gerçeküstücü sanat akımı gibi bazı akımlarda merkezi rol üstlenmiştir. Bu bakış açısıyla bakıldığında sanat ve piskolojinin bir biriyle ilintili olduğunu görebiliyoruz. Rüya ve ya kabus görmek gerçeği insanlar arasında ortak olsa da bireylerin farklılığına göre kısmen kişiseldir. Her insanın yaşam tarzı ve öyküsü gördüğü rüyalar ve kabuslarda yansır, ama genel olarak insanoğlunun piskolojisinde önemli ortaklıklar bulunur. Bu ortaklıklar insanlığın ortak korku ve ümitlerinden kaynaklanır ve kültür ve sanat tarihi boyu kendini simgeler halinde dışavurur. Düşlerin karanlık tarafına daha fazla önem veren Grotesk sanat üslubunun kökeni kabuslarda bulunur. Sanatta böyle bir yaklaşımın örnekleri, tüm kültürlerde ve tüm tarih boyu rastlanabilir. Grotesk sanat anomali, garip olması ve dehşet vericiliğinden dolayı alışıla gelmiş gerçeği bozarak, normal olan her şeyin sınırını aşmaya çalışır. Başvurduğu bu yöntemle de sanatsal orjinallığı hedefler. Bu çalışmada grotesk sanatın köklerini kendi bilinçaltı dünyamdan esinlenen kabuslarım ve rüyalarım ile ilişkilendirerek, yaptığım resimler için bir besin kaynağı olacağına olanak verdim. Bu süreçte sanat tarihinden aldığım alıntıların yanı sıra piskoloji biliminin de aydınlatıcı yanından faydalandım. Effect of an intervention based on socio-ecological model in promoting physical activity of female employees

Although active life style is one of the main determining factors of health, the level of regular physical activities in women is less than in men and even this level decreases with aging. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of an intervention based on the social ecological model on promotion of physical activity among female employees. In this study, 160 women employed at Shabestar universities were selected, and randomly divided into two groups of control (n=80) and intervention (n=80). The intervention group received an instructional program according to the model, including one session for general instruction and four sessions for group discussion along with daily walking for 30 minutes within 8 weeks. In order to objectively measure the physical activity, the pedometer was used and to measure the perceived physical activity, the long form of International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was applied. The variables related to the components of socio-ecological model were measured using the socio-ecological model questionnaire. A significant difference was found between two groups after the intervention in terms of That is, the average number of steps in walking in the intervention group increased significantly (from 4204 to 7882 steps per day), while it did not significantly increase in the control group.
