Consumer behaviour tells us what the needs of consumers are. It identifies simple but powerful facts about buying behaviour -who buys, what they buy, and how do they buy. The results give us amazing insights into what customer's thinking process is and how they differ across different background variables. Demographic and higher disposable income in urban buyers has created a paradigm shift in buying behaviour. Ever increasing competition and availability of various options has made marketers understand various factors which are influencing the demand for Hosiery products.  The research paper attempts to highlight some of the aspects affecting the consumer buying behaviour of selected hosiery products. Consumer personal traits and perception, personality and motivation are some factors whereas external influencing sources are family social cultural and regional factors. There are three steps viz. before buying, during making the purchase decision and after buying. Before buying step may be affected by brands, social status individual educational qualification, monthly income etc. During making the purchase may be impacted by aspects such as price, packaging review, value price and comparison with other brands, etc. Marketer should be vice in selecting advertising instrument as it has a lasting impact of customer mind creating brand awareness and emotional touch are key factors. Repeated purchase of same brand is brand loyalty whereas switch over might be indication for a change in behaviour of the consumer.&nbsp

The zigbee communication is a communication technology to connect local wireless nodes and provides high stability and transfer rate due to data communication with low power. In the nodes away from coordinator in one PAN, the signal strength is weak causing the network a shortage of low performance and inefficient use of resources due to transferring delay and increasing delay time and thus cannot conduct seamless communication. This study suggests the grouping method, that makes it possible to perform wide range data transferring depending on the node signal strength in zigbee node and analyzes the suggested algorithm through simulation. Based on IEEE 802.15.4 Low Rate-Wireless Personal Area Network (LR-WPAN) standard, the Zigbee standard has been proposed to interconnect simple, low rate and battery powered wireless devices. The de-ployment of Zigbee networks is expected to facilitate numerous applications such as Home-appliance net-works, home healthcare, medical monitoring and environmental sensors. An effective routing scheme is more important for Zigbee mesh networks. In order to achieve effective routing in Zigbee Mesh networks, a Zigbee protocol module is realized using NS-2. The suitable routing for different data services in the Zigbee application layer and a best routing strategy for Zigbee mesh network are proposed. The ZigBee standard provides network, security, and application support services operating on top of the IEEE 802.15.4 Medium AccessControl (MAC) and Physical Layer wireless standard. It employs a group of technologies to enable scalable, self-organizing, self-healing networks that can manage various data traffic patterns. ZigBee is a low-cost, low-power, wireless mesh networking standard. The low costal lows the technologyto be widely deployed in wireless control and monitoring applications, the low power-usage allows longerlife with smaller batteries, and the mesh networking which promises high reliability and larger range. ZigBee has-been developed to meet the growing demand for capable wireless networking between numerous low power devices. The aims of this network are to reduce the energy consumption and latency by enhancing routing algorithm. In a traditional tree routing when a node wants to transmit a packet to the destination, the packet has to follow child/parent relationship and go along tree topology, even if the destination is lying at nearby source. In order to solve this problem, an Enhanced Tree Routing Algorithm is introduced using ZigBee network. This algorithm can find the shortest path by computing the routing cost for all of router that stored in neighbor table, and transmit the packet to the neighbor router that can reduce the hop count of transmission. The enhanced tree routing algorithm can achieve more stable and better efficiency then the previous traditional tree routing algorithm

Background: Periodic evaluation of drug utilization pattern is necessary to promote rational drug use by. In orthopedics practice, the prescribing pattern needs to be regularly monitored since many of the drugs prescribed carry untoward adverse effects. In this backdrop, the present study was conducted to explore the prescribing pattern in orthopedics outpatient department (OPD) of a medical college in Eastern India. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at a Tertiary Care Medical College in West Bengal. The prescriptions of all consecutive patients attending the orthopedics OPD for the first time (except post-surgical follow-up) were included in the study. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistical methods: frequencies, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Results: A total of 837 prescriptions were analyzed with an average number of drugs per prescription being 2.57. Among the drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs were most commonly prescribed (64.14% [1383/2156]) followed by anti-ulcer drugs (13.58% [293/2156]), centrally acting muscle relaxants (21.4% [323/1516]), multivitamins and minerals (9.09% [196/2156]), and others (antibiotics, anti-gout drugs, etc.,) (5.12% [110/2156]). Drugs were prescribed in the generic name in 35.72% (770/2156) of prescriptions. A total of 71.56% (1543/2156) of drugs were prescribed from national essential medicine list. Antibiotics were prescribed in 53 encounters (53/2156 [2.46%]) and 93 prescriptions (4.38%) mentioned administration of injectables. The frequency of drug administration and the duration of treatment was mentioned in 87.81% (1893/2156) and 82% (1768/2156) of the prescriptions, respectively. Conclusion: The current piece of work pointed out certain lacunae in the prescribing practices of the orthopedicians of the institute as evidenced by low generic prescribing, inadequate information about the duration of therapy and frequency of administration in many prescriptions.

190-197Cold-adapted bacteria produce various pigments as their adaptive strategy. Here, we studied an aerobic, gram-positive motile coccoid bacterial strain KK21, isolated from the Siachen, Himalayas and characterized the major pigments present in it. The KK21 strain is capable of growth in a broad range of temperature (-4 to 37°C), pH (6.0-13.0) and salinity (0.5-8%). Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that it belongs to the genus Planococcus and closely related to P. maritimus. Total pigment extraction was best found in polar methanol. Alanine among amino acids, NaCl among inorganic salts and evening primrose amongst oils best supported the pigment production at 10°C after 6 days in BHI at neutral pH of 7.0. Maximum pigment production was recorded at 3% of NaCl concentration. In photoprotection activity, radiation exposed plates showed increased colony forming units and more than 3.5 times of total carotenoid production after 15 min exposure compared to the control group. Detailed characterization of orange pigment was done systematically by TLC, HPLC and MALDI-TOF. Chromatographic and MALDI-TOF data have revealed the exclusive presence of glycosylated C30-carotenoid in P. maritimus KK21 with m/z of 655.871

The image processing is the technique which can process the digital information stored in the form of pixels. The image compression is the technique which can reduce size of the image without compromising quality of the image. The image compression techniques can classified into lossy and loss-less. In this research work, the technique is proposed which is SVD-WDR with PCA for lossy image compression. The PCA algorithm is applied which will select the extracted pixels from the image. The simulation of proposed technique is done in MATLAB and it has been analyzed that it performs well in terms of various parameters. The proposed and existing algorithms are implemented in MATLAB and it is been analyzed that proposed technique performs well in term of PSNR, MSE, SSIM and compression rate. In proposed technique the image is firstly compressed by WDR technique and then wavelet transform is applied on it. After extracting features with wavelet transform the patches are created and patches are sorted in order to perform compression by using decision tree. Decision tree sort the patches according to NRL order that means it define root node which maximum weight, left node which has less weight than root node and right node which has minimum weight. In this way the patches are sorted in descending order in terms of its weight (information). Now we can see the leaf nodes have the least amount of information (weight). In order to achieve compression of the image the leaf nodes which have least amount of information are discarded to reconstruct the image. Then inverse wavelet transform is applied to decompress the image. When the PCA technique is applied decision tree classifier the features which are not required are removed from the image in the efficient manner and increase compression ratio

All the user-friendly services require technologies that enable communication between people and objects in close proximity. This paper describes a model of human area networking technology that enables communication by touching, a technology we call Red Tacton. It is a Human Area Networking technology, which is developed by Robin Gaur Jind, that uses the surface of the human body as a safe, high speed network tran smission path.It is completely distinct from wireless and infrared technologies as it uses the minute electric field emitted on the surface of the human body. RedTacton involves initiating communication with a touch that could result in a wide range of actions in response. It does not rely on electromagnetic or a light wave to transmit data. A transmission path is formed at the moment a part of the human body comes in contact with a RedTacton transceiver. Communication is possible using any body surfaces, such as the hands, fingers, arms, feet, face, legs etc. RedTacton works through shoes and clothing as well. When the physical contact gets separated, the communication is ended. The data transfer between RedTacton enabled devices does not require any dialing or log-in, the data transfer would be practically instantaneous. While it is true that similar personal area networks are alre ady accessible by using radio-based technologies like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, they are often hampered by intermittent service and will eventually be replaced by "human area network

n technical terms "Motion capture (Mocap) is sampling and recording motion of humans, animals, and inanimate objects as 3D data", but in simple terms "Recording of motion and playback" OR "One way of acting out an animation" is Motion Capture. So in this paper we are going to present technical as well as simple aspects of Motion Capture like from simple history of Mocap to technical process of Mocap, simple applications of mocap to technical aspects of Mocap. In this paper first thing that would be cleared is that Mocap is not new technology it is used since 1872 when Edward Muybridge performs Flying Horse experiment to know that if a horse ever had all four feet off the ground while trotting? So Muybridge placed cameras to capture movements of running horse and takes multiple pictures of horse and proved that statement true. After that Etienne -Jules Marey became the First person to analyze human and animal motion with video. After all these main -frame motion capture started when in 1915 Rotoscoping which is described in this paper later comes in an imation techniques and it changed whole meaning of animation. Then process of basic motion capture and some techniques used i.e. how motion or movements of an actor are captured using various markers, sensors, cameras and mechanical or magnetic suits and then how these recorded data is converted and applied on a virtual actor to perform same movements. Then some applications like films, animation, medical etc. are discussed and at last a brief about some pros and cons of Mocap is stated.so overall in this paper we tried to give basic knowledge on mocap so that a non-technical or normal person can also understand that how mocap is started and how it is useful or popular now days

As electronic devices become smaller, lower in power requirements, and less expensive, we have begun to adorn our bodies with personal information and communication appliances. Such devices include cellular phones, personal digital assistants(pdas), pagers and many more. Currently there is no method for these devices to share data. Networking these devices can reduce functional I/O redundancies and allow new conveniences and services. RedTacton was introduced by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation(NTT). RedTacton is a break-through technology that, uses the surface of the human body as a safe, high speed network transmission path. So we, in this paper are explaining the unique new functional features and enormous potential of RedTacton as a Human Area Networking technology. In this paper I have described features, applications advantages , disadvantages of redtacton.evels of connectivity: Wide Area Networks(WAN), Local Area Networks(LAN), and Human Area Networks(HAN) for connectivity to personal information, media and communication appliances within the much smaller sphere of ordinary daily activities[6]

New Techniques for the Prevention of Power System Collapse

    Get PDF
From voltage stability point of view, maximum permissible loading limits must not be exceeded in the operation of power systems. The risk of cascading outages in power systems manifests itself in a number of ways like loss of generation units, breaker failures, common tower and common right-of-way circuit outages, combination of system conditions and events. With the advent of structured competitive power markets, and with the lack of needed investment in the transmission grid, electric power systems are increasingly being operated close to their limits. When a power system is subjected to large disturbances control actions need to be taken to steer the system away from severe consequences and to limit the extent of the disturbance. The main factor, which causes these unacceptable voltage transients, is the inability of the distribution system to meet the demand for reactive power. The major research in dealing with voltage collapse is the proper diagnosis of the underlying factors causing low voltage. These disturbances often result in voltage collapse of the system, which in turn causes huge losses in the system as well as monetary losses. This paper deals with some newer techniques for the prevention of the voltage system collapse for voltage system collapse, which may have a very large economic impact on the society. It also focuses on right initiation at right time to ease control action to enhance stability, reliability and security of the power system so as to provide a preventive plan to minimize the chances of failure in power system as possible
