    Improvement of Food Industry Business Continuity in Sulawesi through Islamic Business Approach

    Since 2012-2016 there are 124 units of food industry business unable to maintain its business survival (Department of Industry and Trade of Southeast Sulawesi Province, 2017). Besides, has not been applied consistently Islamic business morals. This study aims to know and analyze: (1) The influence of business morals on business performance, (2) Implications of business performance against business continuity, (3) Effect of government policy of Southeast Sulawesi Province in strengthening the influence of business morals on business performance. The method used in the achievement of the objective is the survey method that is to conduct field visits to the food industry as the respondents of the research of 150 business actors distributed in Kendari City as many as 86 business units and the City of Bau-Bau as many as 64 business units. Data collection using questionnaires and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques use (1) descriptive statistics,(2) quantitative analysis with professional PLS Smart program aids. The study concluded that (1) Islamic business morals can improve the performance of the food industry business but exemplary and consistency in business has not been maximized by business actors, (2) Good business performance has positive implications for improving business continuity from economic aspect, social, environmental and fiscal aspect. However, the growth of capital, profit and labor has not been optimal in business actors, (3) The Provincial Government of Southeast Sulawesi can take over the congregational prayer in the mosque or at work through regulation to strengthen the improvement of business actor business, besides maximizing the expansion of business base with mediation to syariah financial institutions and providing technical training programmed food production and free sustainable for business actor.     Factors Determining Indonesian Muslim Behaviour in Purchasing Halal Food: A Preliminary Study

    Halal food and consumer behaviour are hot issues in scholarly publications. However, research exploring the factors determining consumer decisions by the exploratory study is still rare. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the factors that determine Indonesian Muslims' purchasing of halal food. We focused on halal food Muslim consumers and 140 questionnaires were distributed. Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used for data analysis. The findings showed that three main factors determine Muslim purchase decisions for halal food: halal awareness, religiosity, and the safety & quality of halal food. A novel model of halal food consumer behaviour that implies the application of Halalan-tayyibah in Islamic teachings, namely the integration of halalness with product safety and quality.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap motivasi kerja dan kinerja pegawai pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan Dan Perlindungan Anak Kabupaten Konawe Utara. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pegawai pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan Dan Perlindungan Anak Kabupaten Konawe Utara yang berjumlah 30 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Partial Least Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Gaya kepemimpinan transformasional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja pegawai pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Kabupaten Konawe Utara. (2) Gaya kepemimpinan transformasional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Kabupaten Konawe Utara. (3) Motivasi kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Kabupaten Konawe Utara. (4) Motivasi kerja dapat memediasi pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Kabupaten Konawe Utara

    Perekonomian masyarakat di Kecamatan Poasia terdampak pandemic Covid-19 berupa penurunan pendapatan. Salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan bagi kaum perempuan di Kecamatan Poasia yaitu pemberdayaan kaum perempuan di masa pendami melalui usaha rumah tangga. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian yaitu meningkatkan keterampilan kaum perempuan dalam pembuatan souvenir. Mitra Kegiatan yaitu Camat Kecamatan Poasia. Kegiatan pelatihan melibatkan 24 peserta dari kaum perempuan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui pelatihan. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan berupa ceramah dan demonstrasi. Setiap kelompok menghasilkan 2 produk, yaitu bucket bunga dan balon. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman perserta pelatihan setelah mengikuti kegiatan berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. Pada sisi lain, peserta pelatihan juga berminat untuk mengembangkan bisnis souvenir. Tindak lanjut yang perlu dilakukan berupa peningkatan keahlian pemasaran on line guna meningkatkan jaringan pelanggan

    Future warming and acidification result in multiple ecological impacts to a temperate coralline alga

    Coralline algae are a crucial component of reef systems, stabilising reef substrate, providing habitat and contributing to accretion. Coralline algae and their surface microbial biofilms are also important as settlement cues for marine invertebrates, yet few studies address the impact of future environmental conditions on interactions between coralline algae, reef microbes and settlement by larvae of marine invertebrates. We exposed the temperate coralline algal species Amphiroa gracilis to warming and/or acidification scenarios for 21 days. Algae became bleached but photosystem II function was not measurably impacted. Settlement by larvae of the sea urchin Heliocidaris erythrogramma was reduced and the structure of the prokaryotic community associated with A. gracilis was altered. Coralline algae in ambient conditions were dominated by Alphaproteobacteria from the Rhodobacteraceae including Loktonella; those under warming were dominated by Bacteroidetes and Verrucomicrobia; acidification resulted in less Loktonella and more Planctomycetes and a combination of warming and acidification caused increases in Bacteroidetes, Verrucomicrobia and the Alphaproteobacteria family Hyphomonadaceae. These experiments indicate that predicted future environmental change may reduce the ability of some temperate reef coralline algae and associated reef microbes to facilitate settlement of invertebrate larvae as well as having a direct impact to algae via bleaching
