This study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of dietary calcium levels and supplementation with organic trace minerals selenium, copper, iron, zinc and manganese on performance, tissue deposition and litter mineral concentration. A total of 2,496 one-day-old male Cobb 500 broilers were randomly assigned to a 3 × 4 factorial experimental design with three levels of dietary Ca [8, 10 and 12 g kg–1, while maintaining the same Ca:nPP (non-phytate phosphorus) ratio (2:1)] and four levels of micromineral supplementation (0.62, 0.72, 0.82 and 0.92 g kg–1). There was a total of 12 treatments, with eight replicates of 26 birds per pen. Micromineral supplementation (MS) was achieved by adding different levels of the product Bioplex TR Se® and Ca supplementation was achieved by adding increasing levels of limestone and dicalcium phosphate. An interaction between Ca and MS levels was observed (p < 0.05) for the parameters of performance, liver Cu concentration, breast Se and Cu concentrations and litter Se, Mn and Zn concentrations. No interactions were observed (p > 0.05) for Ca, P or ash concentrations in the tibia, which were influenced only by dietary Ca levels (p < 0.05). The Ca level of 10 g kg–1 promoted higher Ca and P concentration in the tibia and lower micromineral excretion in the litter. The combination of MS level of 0.82 g kg–1 with Ca level of 10 g kg–1 led to the best BWG response. The supplementation conditions that led to higher micromineral levels in the liver and breast varied for each mineral

Social network of sexual and gender minorities: possibilities of support in health care

The study aimed to characterize the Social Network of sexual and gender minorities and to analyze the type of social support received for health care. This was a descriptive qualitative study. The methodological theoretical framework of Social Network proposed by Lia Sanicola was used. Semi-structured interviews were analyzed based on the Content Analysis technique proposed by Bardin. The study was carried out in 2019 at a family health unit in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Results showed that the social network of the interviewees was marked by a strong relationship with friends and colleagues, while in the relationship with family members there was a greater fragility in the bonds due to the lack of knowledge or non-acceptance of these members in relation to the sexuality of the interviewees. In addition to the fragility of the family relationship, there was a difficulty and discontinuity in access to health, due to the lack of bonds stimulated by prejudice and discrimination in health services. Social networks were characterized by the bond with friends and colleagues who offered emotional support. In the context of the family and the health care network, social relationships were permeated with weaknesses and lack of support. Knowledge of the network and the type of social support received by people who are part of sexual and gender minorities makes it possible to broaden the health professional’s view of comprehensive care for this population and consequently improve the quality of care provided

Eletrodegradação de Ponceau 2R utilizando ânodos dimensionalmente estáveis e Ti/Pt

This paper reports the electrochemical degradation of the azo dye Ponceau 2R under galvanostatic electrolysis in the 1 to 200 mA cm-2 range at room temperature using dimensionally-stable anodes of oxygen (DSA-O2), chlorine (DSA-Cl2) and a titanium electrode of platinum coated with platinum oxide (Ti/Pt). The methodology applied was efficient for removing the color of the Ponceau 2R and the highest percentage removal of total organic carbon was obtained at 200 mA cm-2. Despite not having been observed complete mineralization, approximately80% removal of aromatic rings was estimated, resulting in drastic reduction of toxicity of the sample

Competências e habilidades de enfermeiros para a promoção da saúde de pacientes em hemodiálise / Competencies and skills of nurses to promote the health of patients on hemodialysis

Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4 While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by 2050. This means that unless we take immediate action, we will not be able to establish their current status, much less monitor how it is changing and what is being lostinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
