This study investigates the travel time use of rail passengers with attention to commuter rail services between Padang and Pariaman, West Sumatera, Indonesia. An importance and satisfaction analysis was carried out to explore the opinion of passengers about the performance of attributes related to travel time use. The study found that passengers tend to use travel time mainly for enjoying the view and listening to music compared to reading, which is the most reported activity that travellers’ perform while travelling in some developed countries. The advantage of gaining opportunity to conduct a more productive and enjoyable activity while travelling on the train for commuter journeys is found to be less important to the passengers compared to other attributes such as ticket price, reliability, seat guarantee and waiting room

The aim of this research is to develop a risk mitigation strategy in supply chain process of West Sumatra-Riau toll road pavement material. Data for this study was obtained through brainstorming techniques, questionnaires, field surveys and literature review. The data was analyzed using House of Risk (HOR) method. There were 18 items of risk event’s and 21 items of risk agent’s identified from the HOR phase 1, whereas risk agent handling priority data and risk mitigation actions are 19 items by using HOR phase 2. The results show that there are 2 (two) risk agents ranked 1 and 2 for the most critical, namely A1 (poor supplier performance) with ARP of 860 and A2 (Low of Contractor Capability) with ARP of 507, which can cause ± 80% of risk events where the remaining 20% is caused by other agents. There are 2 (two) mitigation actions were obtained from HOR phase 2, namely PA1 (appropriate supplier selection method) and PA4 (appropriate contractor selection method) which can prevent the emergence of ± 80% of these risk agents and ± 20% is overcome by 17 other mitigation actions

This study was motivated by the case of the disappearance of legal bus services due to their loss in competition with a kind of car services called “Travel” for the corridor of Padang - Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatera, Indonesia. Travel might not legal public transport services, and therefore, in this study is also called un-official public transportation. This study aims to determine the driving attributes for passenger’s satisfaction of un-official public transportation services and to figure out the service attributes that need to be improved according to passengers’ perceptions. Data was collected using random sampling with a total sample of 160 respondents and was analyzed using the Importance Satisfaction Analysis (ISA) method. Quadrant analysis of ISA revealed that the availability of music and air conditioner on-board is not so essential but resulting a higher satisfaction to passengers. Passengers are calling for an improvement of the services by consistently implementing the law against a driver who uses a mobile phone while driving or driving inconsiderately, and improving the courtesy and friendliness of the driver

CPT - DR - D50 correlations of sands for liquefaction potential analysis

Liquefaction assessment is the main stage in determining the potential liquefaction in a certain site. In order to assess the potential liquefaction, the values of physical and mechanical properties of the soil are very important. Two main parameters that are essentially needed to determine the liquefaction potential in a sand deposit; those are relative density and men particle size. In Indonesia, CPT is a testing method that is very practically famous and often conducted in the field. Assessment of Liquefaction Potential will be cheap and valuable by using the results of the CPT test. For this reason, this paper describes the results of conducted research to obtain the values of the relative density and mean particle size based on the outcomes of the CPT test: those are cone resistance (qc) and friction ration (Rf). The relationship between qc-Rf and Dr-D50 is accelerated by conducting a series of tests on soil samples with variations in the value of relative density and average particle size. The test results are plotted in a graph as well as in the terms of mathematical formulations to figure out for the relationship between CPT values and Dr-D50 in detail for sands. This research is very useful to assess the liquefaction potential in a particular area with very satisfying result

Spermiogenesis and spermatozoon ultrastructure of the diphyllidean cestode Echinobothrium euterpes (Neifar, Tyler and Euzet 2001) Tyler 2006, a parasite of the common guitarfish Rhinobatos rhinobatos

Spermiogenesis and the ultrastructural characters of the spermatozoon of Echinobothrium euterpes are described by means of transmission electron microscopy, including cytochemical analysis for glycogen. Materials were obtained from a common guitarfish Rhinobatos rhinobatos caught in the Gulf of Gabès (Tunisia). Spermiogenesis in E. euterpes is characterized by the orthogonal development of two unequal flagella followed by the flagellar rotation and the proximodistal fusion of these flagella with the median cytoplasmic process. The most interesting pattern characterizing the diphyllidean cestodes is the presence of a triangular body constituted by fines and dense granules without visible striation and assimilated at the striated rootlets. This pattern, only related in the Diphyllidea cestodes may be a synapomorphy of this order. Spermiogenesis is also characterized by the presence of a very short flagellum (around 1 μm long), observed in all the stages of spermiogenesis. This type of flagellum has never been commented in the diphyllidean cestodes and should be considered as an evolved character in this group. In the latest stage of spermiogenesis, this short axoneme probably degenerates. Thus, the mature spermatozoon of E. euterpes possesses only one axoneme of 9 + '1' trepaxonematan pattern. It also exhibits a single helical electron-dense crested body, a spiraled nucleus, few parallel cortical microtubules, and α-glycogen granules. Similitudes and differences between spermatozoa of diphyllideans are discussed
