Lump solitons in a higher-order nonlinear equation in 2 + 1 dimensions

We propose and examine an integrable system of nonlinear equations that generalizes the nonlinear Schr ̈ odinger equation to 2 + 1 dimensions. This integrable system of equations is a promising starting point to elaborate more accurate models in nonlinear optics and molecular systems within the continuum limit. The Lax pair for the system is derived after applying the singular manifold method. We also present an iterative procedure to construct the solutions from a seed solution. Solutions with one-, two-, and three-lump solitons are thoroughly discussed

Impacto de la actual crisis económica en la educación. Repercusiones en los blogs

La escuela pública, siempre ha sido objeto de estudio y preocupación, hoy en día nos inquietan los procesos de desmantelamiento, segregación y privatización que sufre. La actual crisis económica, y los cambios acontecidos en los últimos años en materia educativa nos llevan a elaborar este trabajo donde queremos analizar el impacto que tienen los recortes presupuestarios y otras medidas en el sistema educativo. Para ello voy a analizar el discurso presente en los blogs desde una doble perspectiva cuantitativa y cualitativa. A modo de conclusión, podemos señalar que la actual crisis económica no es el fin de la escuela y mucho menos de la escuela pública, siempre y cuándo seamos capaces de adaptarnos a los nuevos cambios utilizando nuestra capacidad de cooperación y sobre todo utilizando la mejor materia prima que existe, nuestros estudiantes.Máster en Investigación en Ciencias Sociales. Estudio de los egresados de los programas de máster en economía de la salud en España

To identify the characteristics, motivations and employment implications among graduates ofMasters programmes in health-economics (MPHE). The main motivation for undertaking an MPHE is academic, and to acquire new or enhance pre-vious knowledge. The general profile of graduates is that of a woman aged 37.8 and a health professional.Those looking for a job in Health Economics generally found employment in the first (54.9%) or secondyear (29.7%). MPHE were very highly assessed. The most useful subject was health management (46.3%). Undertaking an MPHE is a good investment because most of the graduates believed that theirtraining enabled them to find a job. The graduates showed a high degree of confidence in the usefulnessof the training. MPHE are highly evaluated irrespective of consequent employment. The subjects in whichthe curriculum vitae of the health professionals were weaker, such as those concerning management,were evaluated the highest as they were assumed to enhance promotion opportunities.Objetivo: Identificar las características, las motivaciones y las implicaciones laborales que aparecen entrelos egresados de programas de máster en economía de la salud (PMES).Método: Se solicitó colaboración a los másteres más relevantes de Espa˜na para esta investigación. Los par-ticipantes completaron un cuestionario on line de 30 ítems específicamente dise˜nado para este propósito.La muestra estuvo formada por 439 egresados. Se realizaron diferentes análisis estadísticos, incluyendomodelos logísticos.Resultados: La principal motivación para hacer un PMES es la académica. Las personas lo hacen con el finde adquirir nueva formación o mejorar conocimientos previos. El perfil general de egresado es el de unamujer de 37,8 a˜nos, profesional sanitaria. Las personas que buscaban trabajo en economía de la salud loencontraron principalmente en el primer (54,9%) o segundo (29,7%) a˜no. La valoración de los PMES esmuy elevada. La materia más útil fue gestión sanitaria (46,3%).Conclusiones: Hacer un PMES es una buena inversión porque la mayoría de los egresados consideran queobtuvieron un empleo gracias a su formación. Los graduados muestran un alto grado de confianza en lautilidad de la formación. Los PMES son altamente valorados independientemente de las consecuenciaslaborales. Relationship between organizational culture and performance among German multinational companies in Mexico

The objective of this research is to determine if there is a relationship between organizational culture and organizational performance in German multinational companies operating in Mexico. To this end, we use a multiple case study, analyzing five German multinational autoparts companies with operations in Mexico, applying a questionnaire to executives at each of the five companies and to 232 employees at one of them. Our main finding is that there is a significant relationship between organizational culture variables and organizational performance variables, such as turnover, job satisfaction, satisfaction with the company, and sales. The study illustrates the importance of promoting human resources policies aimed at increasing employee satisfaction, and studies should be carried out to identify the triggers of satisfaction with greater precision, which may improve the performance of this type of company. Creatividad, Sueño y Transformación Educativa. La participación de la comunidad en la etapa del sueño de una Comunidad de Aprendizaje

Las comunidades de aprendizaje suponen transformar la cultura, el aprendizaje y la organización de la escuela contando con la participación de toda la comunidad. La transformación pasa por un proceso de sensibilización, formación, toma de decisiones para iniciar un proceso de sueño colectivo. Éste es un momento en el que toda la comunidad participa en concretar la escuela que quieren y desean construir entre todos y todas como lugar común. Nuestro objetivo es conocer y comprender el proceso de transformación de una comunidad de aprendizaje profundizando en el proceso del sueño desde las voces de participantes de todos los sectores. La investigación se realiza desde el paradigma cualitativo con enfoque de estudio de casos comunicativo, basándonos en la entrevista como instrumento de recogida de información y diálogo igualitario. Las aportaciones de las entrevistas ponen de manifiesto la importancia de la participación de toda la comunidad en el sueño, que se traduce en un proceso emocional democrático movido por la alegría e ilusión de decidir y participar en el funcionamiento del centro educativo haciéndolo propio. Las aportaciones de todos en la organización y el aprendizaje basadas en las interacciones emocionales va configurando un modo diferente de vivir y sentir la escuela

Resolution of optimization problems and construction of efficient portfolios: An application to the Euro Stoxx 50 index

We assess the effectiveness of various portfolio optimization strategies (only long allocations) applied to the components of the Euro Stoxx 50 index during the period 2002-2015. The sample under study contemplates episodes of high volatility and instability in financial markets, such as the Global Financial Crisis and the European Debt Crisis. This implies a real challenge in portfolio optimization strategies, since all the methodologies used are restricted to the assignment of positive weights. We use the daily returns for the asset allocation with a three year estimation window, keeping the assets in portfolio for one year. In the context of strategies with short-selling constraints, we contribute to the debate on whether naive diversification proves to be an effective alternative for the construction of the portfolio, as opposed to the portfolio optimization models. To that end, we analyse the out-of-sample performance of 16 strategies for the selection of assets and weights in the main stock index of the euro area. Our results suggest that a large number of strategies outperform both the naive strategy and the Euro Stoxx 50 index in terms of the profitability and Sharpe's ratio. Furthermore, the portfolio strategy based on the maximization of the diversification ratio provides the highest return and the classical strategy of mean-variance renders the highest Sharpe ratio, which is statistically different from the Euro Stoxx 50 index in the eriod under study

The transformation includes a sensitization’s process, decision-making to start a collective dream process. This is a time when the entire community participates to define the school they want and wish to build all together as a shared place. Our aim is to know and understand the transformation process of a learning community by delving into the dream process from participating voices of all sectors. The research is done by the qualitative paradigm with an approach based on communicative case study, using interviews as an instrument for collecting information and egalitarian dialogue. The interviews provide input that indicates the importance of the participation of the entire community in the dream, which can be translated into an emotional democratic process moved by joy and hope to decide and take part in the operation of the educational centre, making it their own. The contributions based on affective interactions about the organization and learning are shaping a different way of living and feeling school.Universidad de Granada. Solitons in a nonlinear model of spin transport in helical molecules

We study an effective integrable nonlinear model describing an electron moving along the axis of a deformable helical molecule. The helical conformation of dipoles in the molecular backbone induces an unconventional Rashba-like interaction that couples the electron spin with its linear momentum. In addition, a focusing nonlinearity arises from the electron-lattice interaction, enabling the formation of a variety of stable solitons such as bright solitons, breathers, and rogue waves. A thorough study of the soliton solutions for both focusing and defocusing nonlinear interaction is presented and discussed
