La digitalización de la arqueología en un mundo de patrimonio virtual y Ciencia Abierta (Versátil, Flexible y Expeditiva)

La aplicación y los cambios recurrentes de la tecnología digital se imponen a gran velocidad, interpelando a las disciplinas sociales que se ocupan del comportamiento humano. Esta disrupción digital refiere a un cambio de paradigma global, que supone romper con lo establecido y dar lugar a nuevas formas de hacer en las prácticas científicas, provocando que la información se mueva a un ritmo más veloz que el movimiento físico. La arqueología se está adaptando a estos cambios para aplicar las nuevas tecnologías en el ámbito del patrimonio virtual y la ciencia abierta, de manera versátil, flexible y expeditiva. Es así, que este nuevo paradigma digital, nos proporciona herramientas que se reflejan en estrategias que desafían nuestras estructuras del quehacer científico, así como nuestros antepasados homínidos se enfrentaron a los cambios tecnológicos culturales. La propuesta desde el proyecto ArqueoLab-UBA es presentar la implementación de herramientas digitales y virtuales, considerando aspectos teóricos y metodológicos en la práctica profesional. En este camino, es importante reflexionar acerca de la aplicación de las tecnologías en función de qué conocimiento construimos sobre el patrimonio y cuáles serán las estrategias de supervivencia en un mundo virtual futuro

Los unicornios no son cuentos de hadas, China es su Valle

The purpose of this article is to present an overview of the Chinese cities where unicorn companies proliferate, as well as the sectors in which they concentrate. Unicorn companies are newly created private companies with a valuation of more than one billion US dollars. In 2018 there are 260 unicorn companies worldwide, 76 are located in China, while the United States of America has 121, a front where the commercial war between the two world super powers is also fought. China has made remarkable progress in this matter. In 2009 there were only two Chinese unicorns, now China's unicorn companies represent almost 30% of the total in the world. Between 2017 and 2018, 16 new unicorns have emerged.El propósito de este artículo es presentar una visión general de las ciuda- des chinas donde proliferan las empresas unicornio, así como los sectores en los que se concentran. Las empresas unicornio son empresas privadas de reciente creación con una valoración de más de mil millones de dólares esta- dounidenses. En 2018 se cuentan 260 empresas unicornio en todo el mundo, 76 están ubicadas en China, mientras que Estados Unidos de América tiene 121, un frente donde también se libra la guerra comercial entre las dos super- potencias mundiales. Proceso judicial y violencia secundaria en víctimas de abuso sexual

El abuso sexual es uno de los hechos criminales más traumatizantes, que atenta contra la integridad tanto física como psicológica de quien lo sufre, en tanto se ha violentado su intimidad. En el marco de las investigaciones por delitos contra la integridad sexual, la pericia psicológica se ha transformado en la prueba relevante a la hora de aportar al esclarecimiento de los hechos. La mayoría de las veces, una de las primeras medidas de instrucción que se ordena es la evaluación de la víctima, quien generalmente es único testigo del hecho. Dos son los puntos de pericia recurrentes: el primero de ellos, determinar la “credibilidad del testimonio”, con el objetivo de validar la denuncia y continuar con la investigación. El segundo, establecer el “impacto del daño”, para determinar la tipología del delito y la pena correspondiente. El sometimiento a los sucesivos actos jurídicos, posteriores a la denuncia, operan sobre la subjetividad vulnerada con efectos “revictimizatorios” (violencia secundaria). Desde un posicionamiento ético, nos vemos frente al desafío de evitar que nuestra intervención constituya un procedimiento invasivo, resguardando el posible impacto que pueda sumarse al daño ya sufrido, a la par de responder al requerimiento efectuado por la autoridad judicial.The sexual abuse is one of the most traumatizing criminal facts, which attack the physical and psychological integrity of the victim, as the privacy has been violated. Within the investigations of the sexual integrity crimes, the expert´s report has been turned relevant proof at the time of bringing enlightenment to the facts. Most of the time, one of the first facts that require the investigation, is the victim´s evaluation, who generally is the only witness of the scene. Two skill points are the most required, the first of them is: to determine the credibility of the testimony, in order to validate the complaint and continue with the investigation. The second point is: to establish “the impact of the damage”, to determine the typology of the crime and the corresponding penalty. The submission to the successive legal acts, after the complaint, operates on the violated subjectivity, with re-victimizing effects (secondary violence). From an ethical positioning, we are faced with the challenge of avoiding the fact that our intervention constitutes an invasive procedure, safeguarding the possible impact tan can be added to the damage already suffered, at the same time as responding to the request made by the judicial authority.Facultad de Psicologí

Soft topographical patterns trigger a stiffness-dependent cellular response to contact guidance

Topographical patterns are a powerful tool to study directional migration. Grooved substrates have been extensively used as in vitro models of aligned extracellular matrix fibers because they induce cell elongation, alignment, and migration through a phenomenon known as contact guidance. This process, which involves the orientation of focal adhesions, F-actin, and microtubule cytoskeleton along the direction of the grooves, has been primarily studied on hard materials of non-physiological stiffness. But how it unfolds when the stiffness of the grooves varies within the physiological range is less known. Here we show that substrate stiffness modulates the cellular response to topographical contact guidance. We find that for fibroblasts, while focal adhesions and actin respond to topography independently of the stiffness, microtubules show a stiffness-dependent response that regulates contact guidance. On the other hand, both clusters and single breast carcinoma epithelial cells display stiffnessdependent contact guidance, leading to more directional and efficient migration when increasing substrate stiffness. These results suggest that both matrix stiffening and alignment of extracellular matrix fibers cooperate during directional cell migration, and that the outcome differs between cell types depending on how they organize their cytoskeletons

Calidad del cuidado de enfermería. Empresa Social del Estado Hospital Universitario de Santander

RESUMEN El objetivo del trabajo fue diseñar un modelo de garantía de calidad del cuidado de enfermería en la Empresa Social del Estado Hospital Universitario de Santander de Bucaramanga, que permitiera identificar fortalezas y debilidades en la atención de enfermería, plantear acciones de mejoramiento, correctivas y preventivas.Se realizó una investigación operativa. Se hizo un diagnóstico de la calidad del cuidado de enfermería: revisión documental para evidenciar el compromiso con la calidad y los avances de la Subgerencia de enfermería; evaluación de la calidad de procedimientos claves teniendo como referencia los eventos adversos reportados. A partir del diagnóstico, se conformó el comité de calidad del cuidado de enfermería, se estableció su competencia y operatividad. Se implemento un programa para sensibilizar el personal de la subgerencia sobre las políticas de calidad y estrategias para asegurar la calidad del cuidado de enfermería en la institución. Microfabrication of poly(acrylamide) hydrogels with independently controlled topography and stiffness

The stiffness and topography of a cell's extracellular matrix are physical cues that play a key role in regulating processes that determine cellular fate and function. While substrate stiffness can dictate cell differentiation lineage, migration, and self-organization, topographical features can change the cell's differentiation profile or migration ability. Although both physical cues are present and intrinsic to the native tissues in vivo, in vitro studies have been hampered by the lack of technological set-ups that would be compatible with cell culture and characterization. In vitro studies therefore either focused on screening stiffness effects in cells cultured on flat substrates or on determining topography effects in cells cultured onto hard materials. Here, we present a reliable, microfabrication method to obtain well defined topographical structures of micrometer size (5-10 µm) on soft polyacrylamide hydrogels with tunable mechanical stiffness (3-145 kPa) that closely mimic the in vivo situation. Topographically microstructured polyacrylamide hydrogels are polymerized by capillary force lithography using flexible materials as molds. The topographical microstructures are resistant to swelling, can be conformally functionalized by extracellular matrix proteins and sustain the growth of cell lines (fibroblasts and myoblasts) and primary cells (mouse intestinal epithelial cells). Our method can independently control stiffness and topography, which allows to individually assess the contribution of each physical cue to cell response or to explore potential synergistic effects. We anticipate that our fabrication method will be of great utility in tissue engineering and biophysics, especially for applications where the use of complex in vivo-like environments is of paramount importance
