    Invasions of Alien Plant Species in the South Urals: Current State of the Problem

    Aim: assessment of the current state of the introduction of alien species into the territory of the Bashkortostan Republic. Objectives: identification of aggressive neophyte invasion centers, mapping their distribution in the region, the description of communities containing such neophytes, assessment of the population, and reproductive characteristics of these species and the development of recommendations about controlling invasive processes. The characteristics of the adventive component of the flora of the Bashkortostan Republic (457 species) are provided in the article. The most aggressive invasive species (Ambrosia trifida, A. psylostachya, Cyclachaena xanthiifolia, Hordeum jubatum, Bidens frondosa, etc.), which take root in sinantropic and natural communities in proportions of between 18% and 99%, are considered. The biomass of invasive plants is up to 6 kg/m2 , while the density is over 1,000 escapes per 1 m2 . Data on the ecology, phytocenotic confinedness and distribution of these species are presented. Ecological harm is connected with the replacement of local plants, the contamination of lands and the allergenicity of the pollen from a number of invasive species.     NMR — SPECTROSCOPY TECHNIQUE FOR SALMON FISH SPECIES QUALITY ASSESSMENT

    NMR-spectroscopy was used for development of the criteria which characterize the chilled and frozen fish quality. It has been shown that 1H-NMR experiments can be used as quality factor to measure the concentration of inosine, hypoxanthine and inosine-5’-monophosphate generated during the fish storage. The quality factor is expressed by the K1 correlates well with the sensory quality of chilled Atlantic salmon (Salmo Salar), whereas, quality factor H is more sensitive for measuring the quality characteristics of frozen pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha), chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta), sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka).NMR-spectroscopy was used for development of the criteria which characterize the chilled and frozen fish quality.     Development of the New Method of the Melted Cheese Products Without Salt-melters Using Cryomechanolysis

    The aim of the work is elaboration of the principally new method of deep processing of rennet cheeses to the melting using the complex action of freezing and cryomechanolysis on the raw material that gives a possibility to destruct the hardly soluble biopolymers and to transform them into soluble form.The principally new method of the deep processing of rennet cheeses for receiving the melt cheese products without salts-smelters was elaborated. It differs from the traditional ones by the complete exclusion of the salts-smelters. This method is based on the use of the influence of freezing and fine-dispersed comminution on the raw material. It allows open biological potential of the rennet cheeses more fully and to extract the hidden (bound) protein forms from nanocomplexes of lipids and mineral substances. It allows destruct the proteins of rennet cheeses to the separate polymers and dipeptides and tripeptides. The used technological methods gave a possibility to exclude the salts-smelters at the rennet cheeses manufacturing. They favor the transformation of lipid-proteins paracaseinate calcium phosphate complexes to the separate amino acids and peptides and allow receive homogenous plastic mass.It was established, that at the complex action of freezing and fine-dispersed comminution on the rennet cheese the destruction of hardly soluble lipid-protein nanocomplexes and release of protein from the bound state into free one – nanoform (by 33,5…35 % more) takes place. The mechanisms of this process, connected with cryomechanodestruction of connections between lipids and proteins and non-fermented catalysis of nanocomplexes were described.It was established, that cryomechanodestruction and non-fermented catalysis of protein to the separate monomers – α-amino acids (by 55…60 %) takes place at freezing and fine-dispersed comminution of rennet cheese before melting. The mechanism of freezing and non-fermented analysis, connected with cryomechanocracking of protein molecules at the expanse of peptide protein connections destruction to the separate α-amino acids and their transformation into the free form was described. It was also demonstrated, that the conformational changes of protein molecules take place synchronously.The offered and elaborated nanotechnology of melt cheese products on the base of rennet cheeses without salts-smelters includes complex action of freezing and fine-dispersed comminution. The mechanisms of processes, connected with cryomechanodestruction of connections between lipids and protein to the separate α-amino acids are described.The cheese fillings for “Pancake” confectionary and cheese snacks – falafels were manufactured on the base of cheese mass, received using the new method and enriching vegetable nanoadditives. They exceed the well-known analogs by chemical composition and are remarkable for the storage life, increased in 2 times. At the same time the significant part of substances (BAS and biopolymers) in cheese filings is in nanodimensional form (55…60 % of protein), especially, free α-amino acids, easily assimilated by the human organism. The recipes and technologies of sauces-dressings, sauces-deeps, cheese snacks and so on are also elaborated on the base of cheese mass, received by the new method

    Correlation between lithospheric magnetic anomalies and tectonic structures in the Norwegian-Greenland region of the Arctic

    The studies of the deep structure and tectonics of the Arctic are important for solving the fundamental problems of modern geodynamics and developing its natural resources. This region is also of interest from the geopolitical point of view, in particular, considering the boundaries of the marginal seas. Our study aims to investigate the lithospheric (anomalous) geomagnetic field in the Norwegian-Greenland region of the Arctic and to correlate the identified anomalies with tectonic structures located in the region under study. The database includes the CHAMP satellite measurements of the modulus of the total geomagnetic field vector (the satellite operated at the altitude of ~280 km). This article describes the satellite data processing method applied to distinguish between the lithospheric part and other components of the geomagnetic field. Map showing the total vector modulus of the lithospheric field has been constructed for the studied area. The article discusses the possible nature of the lithospheric magnetic anomalies and their relation to the processes that occur under the territory of Greenland. According to our interpretation of the maps, the geomagnetic field anomalies are related to the modern large-scale geological and tectonic structures located in the studied area. The obtained results can facilitate further comprehensive geological and geophysical studies and contribute to modeling of the evolution of the lithosphere

    Light-Induced Atomic Desorption for loading a Sodium Magneto-Optical Trap

    We report studies of photon-stimulated desorption (PSD), also known as light-induced atomic desorption(LIAD), of sodium atoms from a vacuum cell glass surface used for loading a magneto-optical trap (MOT). Fluorescence detection was used to record the trapped atom number and the desorption rate. We observed a steep wavelength dependence of the desorption process above 2.6 eV photon energy, a result significant for estimations of sodium vapor density in the lunar atmosphere. Our data fit well to a simple model for the loading of the MOT dependent only on the sodium desorption rate and residual gas density. Up to 3.7x10^7 Na atoms were confined under ultra-high vacuum conditions, creating promising loading conditions for a vapor cell based atomic Bose-Einstein condensate of sodium.Comment: Sodium LIAD loaded MOT, 7 pages, 5 figures.     Radial HI Profiles at the Periphery of Galactic Disks: The Role of Ionizing Background Radiation

    Observations of neutral hydrogen in spiral galaxies reveal a sharp cutoff in the radial density profile at some distance from the center. Using 22 galaxies with known HI distributions as an example, we discuss the question of whether this effect can be associated exclusively with external ionizing radiation, as is commonly assumed. We show that before the surface density reaches σHI0.5M/pc2\sigma_{\textrm{HI}}\le 0.5 {\cal M}_\odot/{\textrm {pc}}^2(the same for galaxies of different types), it is hard to expect the gas to be fully ionized by background radiation. For two of 13 galaxies with a sharp drop in the HI profile, the "steepening" can actually be caused by ionization. At the same time, for the remaining galaxies, the observed cutoff in the radial HI profile is closer to the center than if it was a consequence of ionization by background radiation and, therefore, it should be caused by other factors.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figure

    Digital fears experienced by young people in the age of technoscience

    With the advance of technoscience, digital technologies have started to reshape the traditional array of social fears experienced by younger generations by triggering the appearance of new, digital fears. In this article, we undertake a sociological analysis to investigate the concept of digital fears both theoretically and empirically. Our survey conducted among Russian young people aged 18-30 in 2020 (N = 1050, Sverdlovsk region, Russian Federation) showed that fear is a distinctive characteristic of the social well-being of this generation. Moreover, fear tends to become more pronounced both quantitatively (i.e., the frequency of emergence) and qualitatively (i.e. the emergence of new types). The identified digital fears of young people allowed us to draw their typology. Depending on the specifics of digital threat, the following types were distinguished: those associated with impact and control, crime and security, communication and activity, technology and innovation, and social inequality. We show that the expanding range of social fears leads to the formation of catastrophic thinking in young people, thereby affecting the level of social well-being and distorting the image of the future

    The collection of <I>Allium</I> L. at the South-Ural Botanical Garden–Institute

    The article presents the results of introducing wild species. forms and varieties of Allium L. in the South-Ural Botanical Garden– Institute, Ufa. This genus is known for many useful plants – edible, medicinal and ornamental – and for its rare species requiring protection. The collection contains 111 taxa: 92 species, plus a number of onion cultivars and forms. It includes 7 species listed in the Red Book of Bashkortostan, 35 rare species from other regions of the ex-USSR, 2 rare species from the Red Book of the Russian Federation, and 19 endemic species.The collection serves as the basis for studying biological characteristics, agronomic and ornamental traits, reproduction and in vitro cultivation features, etc. Biochemical composition of introduced genotypes is also analyzed. Special attention is paid to the cultivation of rare onions as one of the methods of preserving their biodiversity – their reintroduction into natural habitats is possible on this basis. Most of onions introduced into the Bashkir Cis-Urals (65 species, 78 taxa in total) are stable in cultivation and possess valuable food and/or ornamental qualities, which makes it possible to recommend them for wider use in gardening and phytodesign

    The chiral Anomalous Hall effect in re-entrant AuFe alloys

    The Hall effect has been studied in a series of AuFe samples in the re-entrant concentration range, as well as in part of the spin glass range. An anomalous Hall contribution linked to the tilting of the local spins can be identified, confirming theoretical predictions of a novel topological Hall term induced when chirality is present. This effect can be understood in terms of Aharonov-Bohm-like intrinsic current loops arising from successive scatterings by canted local spins. The experimental measurements indicate that the chiral signal persists, meaning scattering within the nanoscopic loops remains coherent, up to temperatures of the order of 150 K.Comment: 7 pages, 11 eps figures Published version.     Ultrasound-assisted cold pasteurization in liquid or SC-CO2

    Various types of chemical and physical protocols are used, thermal treatment in particular, to increase the quality of bulk food products (for example, dates or some sort of nuts) and extend shelf life, and combinations of methods are frequently used to achieve the best results. However, the use of these processing methods is not always the best option to preserve the initial taste and appearance of food products. For instance, a product may lose its initial natural appearance and acquire different flavors due to chemical transformations that occur at certain temperatures or when the products are treated with chemicals. Non-thermal treatment methods are called “cold” pasteurization. This is a set of advanced techniques that are based on physical and chemical effects that do not result in the structural food-product transformations caused by heating. We have developed and tested a new technique for efficient food-product processing and cold pasteurization in an ultrasonic field under pressure in an atmosphere of supercritical or subcritical carbon dioxide. A laboratory-scale unit that was designed and built for this purpose has experimentally proven the feasibility of this process and demonstrated high efficiency in suppressing pathogenic flora
