    A Hybrid Secure Cloud Platform Maintenance Based on Improved Attribute-Based Encryption Strategies

    In the modern era, Cloud Platforms are the most needed port to maintain documents remotely with proper security norms. The concept of cloud environments is similar to the network channel. Still, the Cloud is considered the refined form of network, in which the data can easily be stored into the server without any range restrictions. The data maintained into the remote server needs a high-security feature, and the processing power of data should be high to retrieve the data back from the respective server. In the past, there were several security schemes available to protect the remote cloud server reasonably. However, the attack possibilities over the cloud platform remain; only all the researchers continuously work on this platform without any delay. This paper introduces a hybrid data security scheme called the Improved Attribute-Based Encryption Scheme (IABES). This IABES combines two powerful data security algorithms: Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE) algorithm. These two algorithms are combined to provide massive support to the proposed approach of data maintenance over the remote cloud server with high-end security norms. This hybrid data security algorithm assures the data cannot be attacked over the server by the attacker or intruder in any case because of its robustness. The essential generation process generates a credential for the users. It cannot be identified or visible to anyone as well as the generated certificates cannot be extracted even if the corresponding user forgets the credentials. The only way to get back the certification is resetting the credential. The obtained results prove the accuracy level of the proposed cypher security schemes compared with the regular cloud security management scheme, and the proposed algorithm essential generation process is unique. No one can guess or acquire it. Even the person may be the service provider or server administrator. For all, the proposed system assures data maintenance over the cloud platform with a high level of security and robustness in Quality of Service

    Analysing workplace spirituality as a mediator in the link between job satisfaction and organisational citizenship behaviour

    Purpose – Without competent and talented employees, no organisation can grow and sustain for a long time. It becomes essential for every organisation to retain and satisfy the employees to achieve their predetermined organisational goals. The present study examines the mediating effect of workplace spirituality dimensions (i.e. meaningful work, compassion, transcendence, mindfulness and sense of community) in the link between job satisfaction and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) among managerial employees of selected manufacturing firms of Chhattisgarh state. Design/methodology/approach – Correlational research design was incorporated. Employees working at managerial positions at different private manufacturing firms of Chhattisgarh state were chosen as a sample for the present study. Regression analysis and confirmatory factor analysis tools were used to analyse the primary data collected from 400 respondents. Findings – The results revealed that all the dimensions of workplace spirituality, i.e. meaningful work, compassion, transcendence, mindfulness and sense of community, were found statistically significant and partially mediated between job satisfaction and OCB among managerial employees of Chhattisgarh. The authors discussed the results thoroughly and provided avenues for the future research. Research limitations/implications – The findings of the present research study will assist all private organisations in rethinking their employee retention and satisfaction strategies, since the presence of workplace spirituality in the organisation has a significant and beneficial impact on its environment. The current research will assist organisations in creating circumstances for OCB for employee via the introduction of workplace spirituality. Originality/value – Creating spirituality in the current situation, where Covid-19 has suddenly affected all organisations around the world, would be extremely beneficial in terms of employee retention and satisfaction, which would eventually aid in the development of an environment conducive to citizenship behaviour at the workplace. However, the role of workplace spirituality as a mediator in the link between job satisfaction and OCB is innovative and has received little attention in the research community

    A Rapid Testing Framework for a Mobile Cloud Infrastructure

    Abstract—Mobile clouds such as network-connected vehicles and satellite clusters are an emerging class of systems that are extensions to traditional real-time embedded systems: they provide long-term mission platforms made up of dynamic clusters of heterogeneous hardware nodes communicating over ad hoc wireless networks. Besides the inherent complexities entailed by a distributed architecture, developing software and testing these systems is difficult due to a number of other reasons, including the mobile nature of such systems, which can require a model of the physical dynamics of the system for accurate simulation and testing. This paper describes a rapid development and testing framework for a distributed satellite system. Our solutions include a modeling language for configuring and specifying an application’s interaction with the middleware layer, a physics simulator integrated with hardware in the loop to provide the system’s physical dynamics and the integration of a network traffic tool to dynamically vary the network bandwidth based on the physical dynamics.     The lovastatin has been used in hypercholesterolemia and heart diseases for therapeutic as well as preventative purposes and it is naturally obtained from filamentous fungi such as Aspergillus through biotechnological approach. The additives in fungal media which enhances the fungal growth should also increase the production of lovastatin. Finger printing of Sahaj Vati, a herbo-mineral formulation comprising mixture of Plumbago zeylanica, Curcuma longa, Shilajeet, Commiphora mukul and Clerodendrum phlomidis powder to be added in medium for fungal growth. The fungal growth activity of both batches of Sahaj Vati was tested for fungal isolate of A. flavus by contact measure through hyphal development restraint test utilizing Potato dextrose agar (PDA) and SMKY medium followed by chromatographic and different techniques for standardization. Sahaj Vati has lower antifungal index & increased the fungal biomass and separation of compound was higher in mobile phase Benzene: Ethyl acetate: Pyridine: 5:4.9:0.1 & Hexane: Chloroform: Pyridine: 2.7:1. Sahaj Vati increased the growth and biomass of A. flauvs which may be used for natural production of lovastatin

    Colon cancer, the leading cause of global cancer-related mortality, demands innovative therapeutic approaches to combat its formidable impact. This empirical study embarks on a quest to unlock novel avenues for colon cancer treatment by investigating the anti-cancer potential of flavonoid extracts sourced from medicinal plants. Our research journey commences with an in-depth examination of the staggering global burden imposed by colon cancer and the inherent limitations of current therapeutic regimens. In response to this pressing challenge, we spotlight the emerging enthusiasm for natural compounds, specifically flavonoids, as transformative agents within the realm of cancer research and therapy. In our pursuit of innovative solutions, we meticulously select medicinal plants celebrated for their flavonoid-rich content and extract these bioactive compounds with precision. Rigorous phytochemical analyses unveil the specific flavonoids at play. In a series of in vitro experiments employing colon cancer cell lines, we uncover a compelling narrative of concentration-dependent cytotoxicity, underscoring the remarkable anti-proliferative attributes of these extracts. Moreover, our investigations reveal that flavonoid extracts possess the remarkable capability to induce apoptosis, substantiated through Annexin V/PI staining and caspase activation assays. As we delve deeper into mechanistic insights, a rich tapestry unfolds, elucidating the intricate modulation of pivotal apoptosis-related pathways by these natural compounds. This study not only furnishes compelling evidence of flavonoid extracts' anti-cancer potential against colon cancer but also underscores the pivotal role of natural compounds in the ever-evolving landscape of cancer research, offering a beacon of hope for pioneering therapeutic strategies. The journey has only begun, and further investigations, alongside rigorous clinical trials, are warranted to harness the full therapeutic potential of flavonoid-based interventions in colon cancer management, potentially redefining the paradigm of cancer treatment

    Stomatal behaviour and endogenous phytohormones promotes intrinsic water use efficiency differently in cotton under drought

    112-120The coordination between phytohormones regulation, stomatal behaviour (stomatal index and opening/closing) and gas exchange are potent determinants of plant survival under drought stress. However, we found a knowledge gap in the mechanism regulating the fine-tuning of these features during drought. In order to address this we evaluated gas exchange, stomatal behaviour and endogenous phytohormones content in two cotton varieties (LRA-5166 and NBRI-67) differing in drought sensitivity during water deficit conditions. Variety specific differences were recorded in net photosynthesis rate (A), transpiration rate (E) and stomatal conductance (gs) with significantly less decrease in drought tolerant LRA-5166 than drought sensitive NBRI-67. The abscisic acid (ABA) accumulation was significantly increased in LRA-5166 while reduced in NBRI-67 under water deficit, which was accompanied by relatively less reduced 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BAP) level in LRA-5166 than NBRI-67.Thus, improved ABA/6-BAP ratio was observed in both the varieties of cotton. Critically, LRA- 5166 has reduced stomatal index, aperture size and significantly higher A and intrinsic water use efficiency (WUEi), thus higher drought tolerance than NBRI-67. Furthermore, we found that endogenous ABA predominantly maintains the stomatal behaviour and regulates its physiology either by antagonizing 6-BAP or alone to coordinate with water deficit signals. Overall, our findings describe a new insight as to how drought modulates endogenous ABA and 6-BAP homeostasis in cotton leaf and the mechanism of stomatal regulation by ABA and 6-BAP in cotton

    Drought and salinity stresses induced physio-biochemical changes in sugarcane: an overview of tolerance mechanism and mitigating approaches

    Sugarcane productivity is being hampered globally under changing environmental scenarios like drought and salinity. The highly complex nature of the plant responses against these stresses is determined by a variety of factors such as genotype, developmental phase of the plant, progression rate and stress, intensity, and duration. These factors influence plant responses and can determine whether mitigation approaches associated with acclimation are implemented. In this review, we attempt to summarize the effects of drought and salinity on sugarcane growth, specifically on the plant’s responses at various levels, viz., physiological, biochemical, and metabolic responses, to these stresses. Furthermore, mitigation strategies for dealing with these stresses have been discussed. Despite sugarcane’s complex genomes, conventional breeding approaches can be utilized in conjunction with molecular breeding and omics technologies to develop drought- and salinity-tolerant cultivars.     Analysis of BAC-end sequences (BESs) and development of BES-SSR markers for genetic mapping and hybrid purity assessment in pigeonpea (Cajanus spp.)

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Pigeonpea [<it>Cajanus cajan </it>(L.) Millsp.] is an important legume crop of rainfed agriculture. Despite of concerted research efforts directed to pigeonpea improvement, stagnated productivity of pigeonpea during last several decades may be accounted to prevalence of various biotic and abiotic constraints and the situation is exacerbated by availability of inadequate genomic resources to undertake any molecular breeding programme for accelerated crop improvement. With the objective of enhancing genomic resources for pigeonpea, this study reports for the first time, large scale development of SSR markers from BAC-end sequences and their subsequent use for genetic mapping and hybridity testing in pigeonpea.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>A set of 88,860 BAC (bacterial artificial chromosome)-end sequences (BESs) were generated after constructing two BAC libraries by using <it>Hin</it>dIII (34,560 clones) and <it>Bam</it>HI (34,560 clones) restriction enzymes. Clustering based on sequence identity of BESs yielded a set of >52K non-redundant sequences, comprising 35 Mbp or >4% of the pigeonpea genome. These sequences were analyzed to develop annotation lists and subdivide the BESs into genome fractions (e.g., genes, retroelements, transpons and non-annotated sequences). Parallel analysis of BESs for microsatellites or simple sequence repeats (SSRs) identified 18,149 SSRs, from which a set of 6,212 SSRs were selected for further analysis. A total of 3,072 novel SSR primer pairs were synthesized and tested for length polymorphism on a set of 22 parental genotypes of 13 mapping populations segregating for traits of interest. In total, we identified 842 polymorphic SSR markers that will have utility in pigeonpea improvement. Based on these markers, the <it>first </it>SSR-based genetic map comprising of 239 loci was developed for this previously uncharacterized genome. Utility of developed SSR markers was also demonstrated by identifying a set of 42 markers each for two hybrids (ICPH 2671 and ICPH 2438) for genetic purity assessment in commercial hybrid breeding programme.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>In summary, while BAC libraries and BESs should be useful for genomics studies, BES-SSR markers, and the genetic map should be very useful for linking the genetic map with a future physical map as well as for molecular breeding in pigeonpea.</p
