GARCON - Genetic Algorithm for Rectangular Cuts OptimizatioN.

    Get PDF
We will present Genetic Algorithm for Rectangular Cuts OptimizatioN (GARCON) program and demonstrate its functionality on a simple HEP analysis example. The program automatically performs rectangular cuts optimization and verification for stability in a multi-dimensional cuts phase space. The program has been successfully used by a number of different analyses presented in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS collaboration) Physics Technical Design Report (Large Hadron Collider (LHC), CERN, Geneva, Switzerland), corresponding results are also published in a number of papers in 2006

The research task was determination of facilities of gravimetric method in research of the influence of groundwater on the base of the mosque Kul Sharif The survey using several gravimeters was carried out, error estimate of measurements was done, and all the obtained data was analyzed. The conclusion is that research of the groundwater influence on the basement of the mosque can be carried out using gravimeters of Scintrex type, which provide high precision. It's reasonable to carry out research over a longer period of time and take the necessary steps for strengthening the foundation. © 2010, European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers

Theory and practice of regional integration based on the EurAsEC model (Russian point of view)

    Get PDF
This article shows Russian point of view on the evolution of Eurasian integration as related to plans to create a Eurasian economic entity based on the EurAsEC model that began with the creation of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space. The article analyzes the legal theory of Russian authors of EurAsEC, based on a review of this integration and the legal documents of this process. The article details the institutional mechanism of the functioning of Eurasian integration and its legal characteristics, and gives a short legal history. The article shows that integration of post-Soviet countries based on EurAsEC is more successful than integration based on the CIS model despite the lack of supranational power of the institutions of EurAsEC. © 2014 Asia-Pacific Research Center, Hanyang University

Economic and legal analysis of unfair competition structures

© Medwell Journals, 2015. In this report, a comprehemive analysis of the stmcture and the concept of such a complex and controversial phenomenon as unfair competition, its legal and economic entity was performed. This was condtioned by the fact that there is no general concept of unfair competition today. It cannot be produced due to a striking difference between the legal regulation of this institution in dfferent countries, dependng on the socio-economic and hstorical situation. Thus, a comprehensive definition of unfair competition on the legislative level is not enough, the definition specified in the Federal Law "On competition protection" is not enough because it defines th~sc oncept only fragmentaq. And for a more complete analysis of the acts qualified as the acts of unfair competition, the provisions of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property should be considered in addition to federal legislation. Legally stated acts of unfair competition are very broad and abstract and therefore, it was suggested in addition to general formulae (general delicts) to apply a detailed list of unfair competition specific acts to prevent this during operations. The study also pays attention to the fact that unfair competition includes the actions in the form of abuse of rights and the breach of the objective right standards

Facile Low-Cost Synthesis of Highly Photocatalitycally Active Zinc Oxide Powders

The industrial waste can cause significant harm to human health and to the environment. Organic dyes in particular are environmentally dangerous since they may cause the death of aquatic life or contaminate the feed chain. Thus, one of the current research fields consists of the development of an inexpensive and environmentally friendly method to purify wastewater from organic contaminants. Among the others, Zinc oxide (ZnO) is considered one of the most effective photocatalysts for the decomposition of organic pollutants in water. In this work, we developed a highly efficient low-temperature and environmentally safe synthesis method to obtain photocatalytically active nanostructured ZnO by chemical precipitation from a solution. The effect of the technological conditions of synthesis on the photocatalytic properties is considered in detail, the correlation with the morphology, structural, and optical properties of the synthesized ZnO samples is determined. It was found that the maximum photocatalytic activity with respect to the decomposition of the dye rhodamine-B (RhB) is achieved for samples synthesized at NaOH molar concentration from 0.4 to 0.7 M; in this case, the sizes of crystallites along the crystallographic direction 002 reach maximum values of ∼42 nm. On the contrary, the sizes of crystallites along the directions 100 and 101 decrease monotonically from 30 to 25 nm with an increase in the molar concentration of NaOH from 0.14 to 1 M

Wang Bi\u27s Annotation on Laozi\u27s Place in China and Japan: Focusing on Ogyu Sorai

Wang Bi\u27s Annotation on Laozi 『老子』王弼注 is considered one of the representative notes on Laozi. In Chinahowever, it was not until 1781 when this book was included in Sikuquanshu 『四庫全書』 that the study of Wang Bi\u27s note became popular. In Japan, while Wang Bi\u27s note was introduced before the 5th century, it received rare recognition until Okada Touin\u27s Laozi Daodejing Annotated by Wang Bi 岡田東贇 『老子道徳経王弼注』 published in 1734. However, further research reveals that Ogyu Sorai 荻生徂徠 had pointed out in Keishishiyohran 『経子史要覧』 that, in reading Laozi from the view of classical rhetoric 古文辞学 Wang Bi\u27s annotation should be referred to. Keishishiyohran was based on Sorai\u27s dictation before 1728, and it was earlier than both Okada Touin\u27s Laozi Annotated by Wang Bi (1734) and Sikuquanshu (1781). Therefore< judging from evidences currently available, it seems fair to conclude that Sorai was the pioneer who introduced Wang Bi\u27s annotation into the field of Laozi studies

© MCSER-Mediterranean Center of Social and Educational Research. Proposed instruments used to measure inequality in living standards in five CIS countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. Compared countries in the aggregate represent most of the economic and human potential of community; In addition, a number of them are consolidated with each other with deeper forms of integration. Currently differentiation of incomes of the population estimated by the traditional factors (index- numbers): funds and Gini, which is determined by socioeconomic inequality

Threshold resummation for high-transverse-momentum Higgs production at the LHC

    Get PDF
We study the resummation of large logarithmic QCD corrections for the process pp ->H+ X when the Higgs boson H is produced at high transverse momentum. The corrections arise near the threshold for partonic reaction and originate from soft gluon emission. We perform the all-order resummation at next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy and match the resummed result with the next-to-leading order perturbative predictions. The effect of resummation on the Higgs transverse momentum distribution at the LHC is discussed.Comment: 19 pages, 3 figure
