The mixture of culture exists in this world as the effect of global media and the emergence of new technologies. Media plays an important role in displaying the good and the bad to the audience. The emergence of new technologies and the demand from audience has internationalized local media. In contrast, the internationalization of the media is said to undermine the local values and cultures. This paper focuses on the impact of the internationalization of the media and the role played by America as the world’s market dominance. Then, the previous researches in the effects of media internationalization to local people in various countries will be studied. This paper is also emphasized on the portrayals of imported programs especially western to Malaysians audience. This paper provides some solutions to prevent our values and cultures from being undermined by foreign media programs

This study analyzed the role of cultural political actors in Banten: Kiai and Jawara. Thepolitical role of Kiai in Banten has risen and fell down. In 1945 until 1950, all of the Bupati in Bantenwere positioned by Kiai. Since that time to now, the leadership of Kiai has decreased. In New Orderera, many Kiais were organized as supported organization of ruling party. It was mutualism relation,ruling party got mass supports and Kiai got material support for himself and pesantren. Jawara arerural strongmen or semi socially embedded men of prowess who are skillful in pencak silat and someare believed to have magical power, called ilmu. Some Jawara has been organized by Golkar party,since 1972. In post-Soeharto era, jawara has been predominance power. They put their family inmany political positions both in executive and legislative. They use intimidation and violence to gettheir aim.On the other side, Kiai had been fragmented in many political powers, but still as supportingactor not as the main one. To fulfill their needs, both for their selves and for pesantren, some Kiaishas done pragmatically and depended on others. Investigation on different composition of powder metallurgy electrode (Cu-W) in high performance edm (HPEDM) on AISI D2 hardened steel
The ideal selection of manufacturing conditions is one of the most important
aspects to take into consideration in the majority of manufacturing processes and
particularly in processes related to Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM). EDM die
sinking machines are used to machine conductive metals of any hardness or difficult
to machine with traditional methods. The problem in the capabilities of tool
electrodes which are not utilized at the optimum levels of the operating parameters
has attracted the attention of researchers and practicing engineers to manufacture tool
electrodes with highly great performance. In this work, an experimental design was
conducted to characterize the machining performances and surface integrity of three
different composition of copper tungsten (CuW) tool electrode in EDM of D2
hardened steel (58-62 HRC). Machining performances i.e. material removal rate
(MRR), tool wear rate (TWR), workpiece surface roughness (Ra) and micro-hardness
(MH) were studied for the three different composition of CuW tool electrode made
through powder metallurgy (PM) method. Machining variables were peak current
and pulse duration, meanwhile machining voltage, depth of cut and duty factor were
kept constant. The 65%W electrode is the best choice of CuW electrode on machining
D2 hardened steel due to the highest machining rate, reasonable tool wear rate and
acceptable surface characteristics. The improvement of MRR is obviously affected
by the increment of current intensity. MRR increased as the value of peak current
increased. The increment of pulse duration is not essentially improving MRR. There
is no clear relation between the alteration of pulse duration and MRR. However, the
MRR becomes the optimum at an optimal set of variables which is set at 40A and
400µs. The results of the machining performance can extent the availability of
database on EDM machinability and surface characteristics of D2 hardened steel for
machinist practices in industrial application of roughing operation
An Analysis of the invariance and conservation laws of some classes of nonlinear ostrovsky equations and related systems
A large class of partial differential equations in the modelling of ocean waves are due to Ostrovsky. We determine the invariance properties (through the Lie point symmetry generators) and construct classes of conservation laws for some of the models. In the latter case, the method involves finding the 'multipliers' associated with the conservation laws with a stronger emphasis on the 'higher-order' ones. The relationship between the symmetries and conservation laws is investigated by considering the invariance properties of the multipliers
Technical Change, Technical Efficiency, and Their Impact on Input Demand in the Agricultural and Manufacturing Sectors of Pakistan
Technical change has been considered as one of the most important determinants of economic growth. In developed economies, a proportionately higher percentage of GDP growth is attributable to technological progress and technical efficiency. However, technical change in developing countries is in its early stages and increased use of factor inputs is still the dominant source of economic growth. An attempt has been made in this paper to analyse technological progress and technical efficiency and their contribution to economic growth along with other factors of production by using more efficient methods in the manufacturing and agriculture sectors of Pakistan. There are a few studies on technological growth and technical efficiency change in Pakistan but they suffer from certain limitations. Most of them use the terms of technical change and productivity synonymously. Further, all of them use Hicks’s formula of neutral technical change and assume that technical change is happening at a constant rate. We have attempted to measure technical change, technical efficiency, and productivity in the form of the Hicks neutral technical change as well as in the form of variable and continuous and discrete technical change. Besides, this paper also analyses the impact of technical change on input demand (i.e., its impact on labour and capital demand) and examines the issue of technical change being either labour-saving or capital-saving. We found that technical change was taking place at a continuous and variable rate. The major contributor to the growth of output and value-added in both sectors was capital, contributing over 50 percent. Labour share was about 20 percent in the agriculture sector and about 10 percent in the manufacturing sector. Technical change share was very significant in manufacturing but not so in agriculture. The manufacturing sector in Pakistan has grown at an annual rate of about 6 percent during 1970s and at 8.7 percent during 1980s, and its share in GDP has increased from 16.5 percent to about 19 percent, but it has failed to generate new employment opportunities for the labour force. The employment growth rate is only about 2 percent.

THE ROLE OF SUNDANESE LANGUAGE IN THERAPEUTIC COMMUNICATIONAT THE ONCOLOGY CLINIC RSHS
The Sundanese language is a local language that has been used by the majority of
Indonesians as their daily language. It is the second most widely spoken language after the
Javanese language. It is, therefore, not surprising that the Sundanese is used in many types
of business including medical institutions directly in touch with society. When doctors and
nurses are taking care of patients in a particular ethnic group such as the Sundanese, they
may need to master the language so that they are better able to communicate with the
patients. Psychologically, the patients may feel less anxious as the doctors are explaning
their illness or recovery process in their indigenous language. The use of the language can
also be one of the palpable efforts that exhilarates the patients’ spirit of life. As later shown,
some researches have proven that patients prefer to go to particular hospitals not only
because of the medical apparatus they are provided with, or the less distance they have to
travel, but also because of the luxurious cultural services they experience. This luxury is
the therapeutic communication which takes advantages of the Sundanese language.
Therapeutic communication is a type of language transmissions that promotes patients’
healing process. It is a process employed by doctors, nurses, and medical staff requiring
an approach planned consciously focusing on the patients’ recovery. To overcome
therapeutic communication’s obstacles, the staff need to be ready to reveal their strong
emotional feelings towards the patients in an appropriate context. Therefore, the staf must
have adequate knowledge regarding this face-to-face process of interacting that focuses on
advancing the physical and emotional well-being of the patients
Assessment of FEMA356 nonlinear static procedure and modal pushover analysis for seismic evaluation of buildings
Nonlinear static analysis as an essential part of performance based design is now widely used especially at design offices because of its simplicity and ability to predict seismic demands on inelastic response of buildings. Since the accuracy of nonlinear static procedures (NSP) to predict seismic demands of buildings affects directly on the entire performance based design procedure, therefore lots of research has been performed on the area of evaluation of these procedures. In this paper, one of the popular NSP, FEMA356, is evaluated and compared with modal pushover analysis. The ability of these procedures to simulate seismic demands in a set of reinforced concrete (RC) buildings is explored with two level of base acceleration through a comparison with benchmark results determined from a set of nonlinear time history analyses. According to the results of this study, the modal pushover analysis procedure estimates seismic demands of buildings like inter story drifts and hinges plastic rotations more accurate than FEMA356 procedure
Human Capital Spillovers, Productivity and Growth in the Manufacturing Sector of Pakistan
Manufacturing is an important sector of Pakistan’s economy. The main focus of this paper is to analyse the major factors of value-added growth and productivity in the manufacturing sector by using Translog Production Technology over the period 1971-72 to 2004-05. The empirical findings show that the contribution of productivity and human capital is around one- third of the total value-added growth in manufacturing sector which is less than the contribution attributed to these factors in developed and many other developing countries.
