Parabolic pulse generation with active or passive dispersion decreasing optical fibers
We experimentally demonstrate the possibility to generate
parabolic pulses via a single dispersion decreasing optical fiber with normal
dispersion. We numerically and experimentally investigate the influence of
the dispersion profile, and we show that a hybrid configuration combining
dispersion decrease and gain has several benefits on the parabolic generated
pulses
Stimulated Brillouin scattering suppression in fibers via longitudinal acoustic velocity design
Theory of parabolic pulse generation in tapered fiber
We examine similarities and differences between high-power parabolic pulse generation in an active medium and in tapered fiber with decreasing normal dispersion. Using a realistic tapered fiber design, we demonstrate the possibility of parabolic pulse generation without an external pump and determine the limitations of this approach
Wavelength conversion and temporal compression of a pulse train using a dispersion oscillating fibre
International audienceWe demonstrate the generation of a picosecond pulse train taking advantage of the cross gain occurring in a dispersion oscillating fibre. The resulting frequency-converted signal is detuned by more than 20 nm from the pump and can be temporally compressed by a factor 2 compared to the input sinusoidal pump wave
Experimental demonstration of spectral sideband splitting in strongly dispersion oscillating fibers
By using a highly nonlinear, dispersion oscillating optical fiber operating in the telecom C band, we experimentally demonstrate the splitting experienced by quasi-phase matched gain sidebands in the strongly dispersion managed regime of a dispersion oscillating fiber as the power of a continuous-wave pump laser is increased over a certain threshold value. Very good agreement is found between the theoretical predictions and our experimental measurements
Seedlings of yellow lupine treated with Colletotrichum lupini isolate were studied by the method of SRAP-analysis with the purpose to assess the differential expression of genes. As a result, the PCR fragment corresponding to tolerant seedlings was found. The genetic determinants found are likely involved in the control of the resistance (tolerance) of lupine plants to anthracnose.
Fusarium
In order to assess the differential expression of genes, seedlings of narrow-leaved and yellow lupine treated with different Fusarium isolates were studied by the method of SRAP-analysis. As a result, PCR fragments correlated with tolerance to infection were found. The corresponding genetic determinants are likely involved in the resistance (tolerance) control of lupine plants to Fusarium.
Catalepsy of Time: Aestheticization of Terror in L. Lipavsky’s “Treatises”
The article analyzes the philosophical heritage of L. Lipavsky — a member of OBERIU, the Leningrad literary and philosophical avant-garde group. In his cycle the «Treatises», which variously explore the specifi city of the idea of reality, author examines the connection of the experience of time and the forms of human emotions (terror, in particular). In contrast to the European intellectual tradition, L. Lipavsky places the problem of terror not in the context of psychology or ethics, but shows its aesthetic nature and experimentally forms a particular «morphology» of terror.
