    Theoretical basis for composition of economic strategy for industry development

    The article deals with the issues related to analysis of domestic engineering problems with the assessment of the current state of the industry as a whole. Considering the prospects of exiting the current crisis, as well as long-term economic growth we expect general welfare within the sector. As the object of the study the authors have selected the engineering industry of the country. The subject of research is the economic relations between producers and consumers of engineering products, as well as issues of strategy formation and development of the engineering industry. The authors analyzed the state of machine-manufacture and highlighted the problems, the solution of which is most relevant given the government policy of increased import substitution and enhanced productivity. Further analysis was carried out in the sphere of sources of financing and attraction of investment resources for all kinds of enterprises of mechanical engineering, on the basis of which economic development strategy for the industry may be constructed. In addition, the authors propose measures and concrete ways of solving the problems identified by the formation of economic strategy of development of the industry, involving plans of achievement of all the defined targets. As a result of the study authors concluded that the need to stop subsidizing loss-making enterprises, creating a favorable climate for the development of venture companies, in order t introduce innovative technology as soon as possible. These technologies could subsequently be exported together with products of greater added value.peer-reviewe

    Metal-free α-amination of secondary amines: Computational and experimental evidence for azaquinone methide and azomethine ylide intermediates

    We have performed a combined computational and experimental study to elucidate the mechanism of a metal-free α-amination of secondary amines. Calculations predicted azaquinone methides and azomethine ylides as the reactive intermediates and showed that iminium ions are unlikely to participate in these transformations. These results were confirmed by experimental deuterium-labeling studies and the successful trapping of the postulated azomethine ylide and azaquinone methide intermediates. In addition, computed barrier heights for the rate-limiting step correlate qualitatively with experimental findings. © 2013 American Chemical Society

    Nature of S\bm{S}-wave NN\bm{NN} interaction and dibaryon production at nucleonic resonance thresholds

    Phase shifts and inelasticity parameters for NNNN scattering in the partial-wave channels 3S1{}^3S_1--3D1{}^3D_1 and 1S0{}^1S_0 at energies TlabT_{\rm lab} from zero to about 1 GeV are described within a unified NNNN potential model assuming the formation of isoscalar and isovector dibaryon resonances near the NN(1440)NN^*(1440) threshold. Evidence for these near-threshold resonances is actually found in the recent WASA experiments on single- and double-pion production in NNNN collisions. There, the excitation of the Roper resonance N(1440)N^*(1440) exhibits a structure in the energy dependence of the total cross section, which corresponds to the formation of dibaryon states with I(Jπ)=0(1+)I(J^\pi)=0(1^+) and 1(0+)1(0^+) at the NN(1440)NN^*(1440) threshold. These two SS-wave dibaryon resonances may provide a new insight into the nature of the strong NNNN interaction at low and intermediate energies.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figure

    Biological experiments onboard the Kosmos-936 investigated the effect of weightlessness on the basic components of cells, the genetic structure and energy apparatus. Genetic studies were made on the Drosophila melanogaster. Experiments were made on higher vegetation and fungi as well. The results indicate that weightlessness cannot be the principal barrier for normal development. An experiment with ectopic osteogenesis in weightlessness was carried out. The study showed a higher frequency of the projected implementation obstetric pathologies in women with impaired reproductive function, hence the need to improve the quality of medical care provided since the preparation for pregnancy

    Influence of particles on the functional properties of single crystals of high-strength ferromagnetic alloys

    Single crystals of the ordered ferromagnetic Co49Ni21Ga30 (at.%) alloy with B2-L10 martensitic transformation and of the disordered iron-based Fe41Ni28Co17Al11.5X2.5 (X=Ta, Ti) (at.%) alloys, which undergo thermoelastic γ-a' martensitic transformations, were studied in terms of the influence of chemical composition, size and volume fraction of the dispersed γ'- phase particles on functional properties – shape memory effect and superelasticity. Single crystals of Co49Ni21Ga30 alloy showed that the precipitation of nanometric γ'-phase particles changes the martensitic transformation characteristic temperature, reduces the value of the shape memory effect and superelasticity, increases thermal and stress hysteresis, and leads to hardening of the high temperature phase, which promotes superelasticity at a wide temperature range and at high temperatures at T>373K compared with the crystals without particles. Single crystals of FeNiCoAlX (X=Ta, Ti) alloys have experimentally demonstrated that the precipitation of ordered γ'-phase particles at a size of d=5-10 nm during aging at T=973 K, 3 h, leads to the occurrence of the shape memory effect and superelasticity

    Expression Pattern and Biological Significance of the lncRNA ST3GAL6-AS1 in Multiple Myeloma

    The biological impact of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in multiple myeloma (MM) is becoming an important aspect of investigation, which may contribute to the understanding of the complex pathobiology of the disease whilst also providing novel potential therapeutic targets. Herein, we investigated the expression pattern and the biological significance of the lncRNA ST3 beta-galactoside alpha-2,3 sialyltransferase 6 antisense RNA 1 (ST3GAL6-AS1) in MM. We documented a high ST3GAL6-AS1 expression level in MM compared to normal plasma cells (PCs) or other hematological malignancies. Transcriptome analyses of MM PCs from patients included in the CoMMpass database indicated a potential involvement of ST3GAL6-AS1 in MAPK signaling and ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis pathways. ST3GAL6-AS1 silencing by LNA-gapmeR antisense oligonucleotides inhibits cell proliferation and triggers apoptosis in MM cell line. Notably, ST3GAL6-AS1 silencing in vitro displayed the down-regulation of the MAPK pathway and protein ubiquitination. These data suggest that ST3GAL6-AS1 deregulation may play a pathogenetic role in MM by affecting both proliferation pathways and circuits fundamental for PC survival. However, ST3GAL6-AS1 expression levels seem not to be significantly associated with clinical outcome and its targeting appears to exert antagonistic effects with proteasome inhibitors used in MM. These findings strongly urge the need for further studies investigating the relevance of ST3GAL6-AS1 in MM

    Re-establishing apoptosis competence in bone associated cancers via communicative reprogramming induced through notch signaling inhibition

    Notch and its ligands on adjacent cells are key mediators of cellular communication during developmental choice in embryonic and adult tissues. This communication is frequently altered in the pathological interaction between cancer cells and healthy cells of the microenvironment due to the aberrant expression of tumor derived Notch receptors or ligands, that results in homotypic or heterotypic Notch signaling activation in tumor cells or surrounding stromal cells. A deadly consequence of this pathological communication is pharmacological resistance that results in patient\u2019s relapse. We will provide a survey of the role of Notch signaling in the bone marrow (BM), a microenvironment with a very high capacity to support several types of cancer, including primary cancers such as osteosarcoma or multiple myeloma and bone metastases from carcinomas. Moreover, in the BM niche several hematological malignancies maintain a reservoir of cancer stem cells, characterized by higher intrinsic drug resistance. Cell\u2013cell communication in BM-tumor interaction triggers signaling pathways by direct contact and paracrine communication through soluble growth factors or extracellular vesicles, which can deliver specific molecules such as mRNAs, miRNAs, proteins, metabolites, etc. enabling tumor cells to reprogram the healthy cells of the microenvironment inducing them to support tumor growth. In this review we will explore how the dysregulated Notch activity contributes to tumor-mediated reprogramming of the BM niche and drug resistance, strengthening the rationale of a Notch-directed therapy to re-establish apoptosis competence in cancer
