    Maospati Highway in Solo is one of the main roads in the East Java Province, considered as accident-prone. As a national road and primary artery, this road has an important role in the distribution of goods and services both intra and interprovincial. The type of highway is 4/2 UD with 11 meters width. The aim of this study is to determine which areas are considered as the accident-prone areas or blacksite, the factors cause the accidents, and suggest some prevention recommendations. The necessary data is the LHR data obtained from the Department of Public Works Binamarga East Java province and traffic accidents data of Police Magetan, East Java. Blacksite analysed by method based on accident rates path length LQ and intersection LQ, and the Accident Rate. Based on the analysis, it is conluded that blacksite occurred in the village of Malang, with a value of LQ> 1, and Accident Rate exceeded the upper limit value. The dominant factor causes the accidents is human factor, such as lack of anticipation when driving. The recommendations suggested for the location are the provision of signs, rumble strips and other safety facilities

    Kawasan Telaga Warna terletak di Desa Tugu Utara, Kecamatan Cisarua, Kabupaten Bogor dan Cianjur dengan luas total sebesar 549,66 hektar, dengan kontur berbukit terjal dan bergelombang. Keanekaragaman jenis (species diversity) merupakan kajian paling mendasar dalam ekologi. Salah satu fauna yang dapat diukur keanekaragaman jenisnya adalah burung karena tingkat penyebaran burung merata dan peka terhadap Perubahan lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat keanekaragaman jenis burung di kawasan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode point count untuk pengamatan burung dan metode nested plot untuk analisis vegetasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat 60 jenis burung dari 31 famili. Burung-burung dengan Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) tertinggi adalah Collocalia vulcanorum (17,89), C. linchi (17,66), dan Surniculus lugubris (14,30). Indeks keanekaragaman jenis (H') burung tergolong sedang (1<1,47<3) dengan tingkat kemerataan jenis (E) yang rendah (0,36<0,4) dan kekayaan jenis sebesar 9,58. Kelompok burung insektivora memiliki persentase terbesar (60,87%), sedangkan burung nektarivora dan granivora (2,90%) memiliki persentase terkecil.     Nowadays, depletion of food source, disease outbreak, and alternative energy occur as global challenges. With little public awareness, life science actually has answers for the core problem and the solution. Therefore, there should be easy and attractive ways to alter public's view and add their knowledge about life science. Indonesian culture is accustomed with oral tradition so musical could be an alternative method for reaching out public awareness. Songs about life science has been previously made and for PKM KC, booklet and video were made for making the songs easier to be understood and were put on web so people can access our works. Our works were made with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effect, Adobe Dreamweaver, and iMovie software. Publication was held through school and radio roadshow and public's response was observed. To date, we haven't found any works with life science content that has comprehensive variety except our works. Students and public enjoy our works with accepted message about life science.     On the existence of internal modes of sine-Gordon kinks

    We study whether or not sine-Gordon kinks exhibit internal modes or ``quasimodes.'' By considering the response of the kinks to ac forces and initial distortions, we show that neither intrinsic internal modes nor ``quasimodes'' exist in contrast to previous reports.
