The 8^8B Neutrino Spectrum

Knowledge of the energy spectrum of $^8$B neutrinos is an important ingredient for interpreting experiments that detect energetic neutrinos from the Sun. The neutrino spectrum deviates from the allowed approximation because of the broad alpha-unstable $^8$Be final state and recoil order corrections to the beta decay. We have measured the total energy of the alpha particles emitted following the beta decay of $^8$B. The measured spectrum is inconsistent with some previous measurements, in particular with a recent experiment of comparable precision. The beta decay strength function for the transition from $^8$B to the accessible excitation energies in $^8$Be is fit to the alpha energy spectrum using the R-matrix approach. Both the positron and neutrino energy spectra, corrected for recoil order effects, are constructed from the strength function. The positron spectrum is in good agreement with a previous direct measurement. The neutrino spectrum disagrees with previous experiments, particularly for neutrino energies above 12 MeV.Comment: 15 pages, 13 figures, 4 tables, submitted to Phys. Rev. C, typos correcte

Evaluation of cancer incidence in a certain area is one of the most important components of cancer control. From 1993 to 2012, a 1.4-fold increase in the annual number of new cancer cases among the population of Siberia and the Far East was registered. The age-standardized incidence rates are increasing with aging of the population. For all cancers, cancer incidence is higher in men than in women with the exception of thyroid and skin melanoma cancer incidence. Six types of cancer incidence curves have been identified: 1) reduction; 2) high growth; 3) relatively uniform growth; 4) reduction followed by stabilization; 5) growth followed by stabilization; 6) relatively uniform increase, then a significant increase.Оценка заболеваемости злокачественными новообразованиями на определенной территории является одной из важнейших составляющих противораковой борьбы. С 1993 по 2012  число ежегодно выявляемых случаев злокачественных новообразований у населения Сибири и Дальнего Востока выросло в 1,4 раза. Рост повозрастных и стандартизованных показателей заболеваемости свидетельствует о том, что увеличение заболеваемости раком обусловлено не только постарением населения региона. При всех основных локализациях заболеваемость у мужчин выше, чем у женщин, за исключением опухолей щитовидной железы и мела номы кожи. Динамика изменений показателей заболеваемости основными локализациями рака имеет свои характерные особен ности. Выделено 6 типов динамических кривых показателей заболеваемости злокачественными новообразованиями: 1) снижение; 2) высокий рост; 3) рост относительно равномерен; 4) снижение, затем стабилизация; 5) рост, затем в разные периоды времени стабилизация; 6) относительно равномерное увеличение, затем значительный рост

The incidence of tuberculosis in the Sverdlovsk region

With the calculation of odds ratios studied the dynamics of tuberculosis in the Sverdlovsk region in 2009-2012. To further reduce the rate of overall morbidity Tuberculosis and improving its structure to enhance control over scope and design of prophylactic examinations for tuberculosis, improve clinical examination for medical risk groups and organization of early screening for tuberculosis risk social groups, greater use of innovative methods of diagnosis of tuberculosis.При расчете отношения шансов изучена динамика заболеваемости туберкулезом в Свердловской области в 2009-2012 годах. Снижение общей заболеваемости туберкулезом населения произошло за счет увеличения охвата населения профосмотрами в течение последних 4х лет, а также уменьшения значения показателя заболеваемости туберкулезом контингентов ГУФСИН. Пока на значение общего показателя заболеваемости туберкулезом оказывает влияние ВИЧ-инфекция. Уменьшилась заболеваемость туберкулезом сельского населения, мужчин, лиц в возрасте 18-34 лет. Увеличилась количество заболевших туберкулезом детей до 14 лет за счет применения инновационных методов диагностики. Уменьшилась вероятность выявления ограниченных форм туберкулеза и туберкулеза с наличием бактериовыделения. Для дальнейшего снижения заболеваемости туберкулезом и улучшения его структуры необходимо усилить контроль за охватом и организацией профосмотров на туберкулез, улучшать диспансерное наблюдение за медицинскими и организацию своевременного обследования на туберкулез социальных групп риска, шире использовать инновационные методы диагностики туберкулеза

ЭПИДЕМИОЛОГИЯ РАКА ПОЧКИ В ПРИМОРСКОМ КРАЕ

Results of epidemiological study on kidney cancer incidence among the population of the Primorsky Krai are presented. Methods of mathematical statistics recommended by the Ministry of Public Health were used. Within the first 5 years of the period 1994 to 2008, thekidney cancer incidence rate increased from 8,3 0/0000 to 12,5 0/0000 in men and from 4,4 0/0000 to 6,6 0/0000 in women, being the 8th most common cancer in men and the 11th most common cancer in women. The highest incidence rate was observed at the age of 55–59 years. The kidney cancer incidence rate in children for the period 1994–2008 was 1,8 0/0000, reaching peak incidence at age 0–4. Kidney cancer is the third most common cancer following hemoblastosis and brain tumors in children of this age group.Представлены результаты эпидемиологического исследования заболеваемости раком почки населения Приморского края с учетом возраста и пола. Использовались методы математической статистики, рекомендуемые МЗ. За период 1994–2008 гг. заболе-ваемость раком почки выросла у мужчин с 8,3 0/0000 в первой пятилетке  рассматриваемого периода до 12,5 0/0000, у женщин с 4,8 0/0000 до 6,6 0/0000 соответственно. При этом в структуре онкологической заболеваемости эта локализация переместилась у мужчин с 10-го места на 8-е, у женщин – с 12-го на 11-е место. Самый высокий рост заболеваемости отмечен в возрасте 55–59 лет. Выявлен пик заболеваемости у детей в возрасте 0–4 года, который к 2004–2008 гг. составил 1,8 0/0000 и в структуре онкологической заболеваемости этой возрастной группы занял 3-е место после гемобластозов и опухолей головного мозга

Особенности онкологической заболеваемости населения Томской области (1990—2001 гг.)

A cancer incidence in general and in its separate nosologic forms (stomach cancer, liver cancer, cancer of lung, skin cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, thyroid gland cancer and hemoblastosis cancer) has been studied in the population of Tomsk and Tomsk region within 1990—2001 taking into account ages and sexes. The dynamics of the cancer incidence in general and in separate forms of malignant neoplasms has been cited and the prognosis of this process up to 2007 has been done. An analysis of the main risk factors has been made.Изучена онкологическая заболеваемость в целом и ее отдельными нозологическими формами (рак желудка, рак печени, рак легкого, рак кожи, рак молочной железы, рак шейки матки, рак предстательной железы, рак щитовидной железы и гемобластозы) населения Томской области и г. Томска с учетом возраста и пола за 1990—2001 гг. Приводится динамика онкологической заболеваемости населения в целом и отдельными формами злокачественных новообразований и дан прогноз этого процесса на период до 2007 г. Дается анализ основных факторов риска
