From September 1, 2023, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated July 19, 2022 No. 662, the number of hours for studying the history of Russia in higher education institutions for students of non-historical specialties will increase. Students of all Russian universities will start studying the updated course of Russian history, expanded in its geographical and chronological framework and covering the events taking place in the country and the world, concerning every citizen of Russia. For teachers, the changes made to the federal state educational standards are detailed in the new concept of teaching the course “History of Russia” approved on February 2, 2023. The concept, representing a social order addressed to education, contains an important ideological message, the development of citizenship and patriotism among students, but does not disclose specific tools to achieve the goals. The article analyzes the psychological, pedagogical and methodological aspects of the most difficult complex problem that will affect the history teacher at the university as the executor of the decisions made. An approach to methodological solutions is determined through clarifying the essence of the phenomena of patriotism, identity, historical consciousness, self-awareness and the psychological mechanisms of their formation in education. The tasks of the teacher as the organizer of the learning situation in learning based on the knowledge of the individual characteristics of students and ways to optimize their personal development on the basis of history are revealed. The article sets the methodological guidelines for moral education in the course of teaching history, due to the requirements of the reform of higher education and modern social challenges. This is all the more important because universities have the right to determine them independently

The aim to keep the original architectures and decoration in their excavation site, that has been emerging in the last years, requires to protect them by temporary or definitive shelters. Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici of Cagliari and Oristano promoted and started monitoring four shelters already existing on the archaeological areas of these provinces, with the aim to check the effectiveness in the local environment, and to plan their improvement or/and new structures. Politecnico di Milano collaborated at the research by monitoring the environment and remains conditions, especially underneath the shelters, modelling the effects of the existing shelters and planning new solutions. In San Cromazio (Villaspeciosa), monitoring the new definitive shelter allowed the researchers to discover the critical points and to find out their improvement. In Su Monte (Sorradile), monitoring allowed the researchers to define the expected performances of the new shelter. In San Saturnino (Cagliari) monitoring and numerical analysis was applied to 2D and 3D models for improving the ventilation of the volume underneath the new shelter. In Nora (Pula) the results of monitoring and the innovative approach of design served to check the performances of the present temporary shelters. Nora approach shows how to overcome the limits of current protective systems, combining the requirements for preservation with new issues as feasibility of technical textiles, low maintenance and easy deconstruction to allow the reuse and adaptability of shelters in different locations and seasons. The ultimate goal was to renovate the design process by covering archaeological sites in a more environmentally conscious way and without the least destruction of the site

This paper studies the impact of robot adoption on firms’ global sourcing activities. Using a rich panel dataset of Spanish manufacturing firms, we show that robot adopting firms increased their intermediate input purchases from foreign and domestic suppliers between 2006 and 2016. The effects of robots differ across sourcing strategies: the highest in foreign outsourcing and the lowest in foreign vertical integration. We find that robot adopters fragment their production further by reducing the concentration of purchases from suppliers and the increase in intermediate input purchases is related to quality upgrading to a certain extent. Marginal treatment effects estimates suggest that responses to adoption are heterogeneous: higher probability of adoption intensifies the effects on outsourcing and weakens the effects on vertical integration. In contrast to rising concerns over reshoring, our findings suggest that robots have yet promoted trade in intermediate inputs

Household food security is related to the ability of the household to fulfill the needs of all its members. This implies physical and economic access to food that is sufficient, safe, and culturally acceptable in terms of the quantity and quality of nutrition to meet the needs of each family member. Pitay Village is one of the villages that is at risk of  food vulnerability because it does not meet the three indicators  namely availability,  access and utilization. This study aims to determine the community's strategy to overcome food insecurity in Pitay Village, Sulamu District, Kupang Regency. This type of research was descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were 250 household heads. The sample consisted of 72 families determined using the Slovin formula. The results showed that 56.9% of respondents experienced food insecurity and 55.6% of respondents ate food from the forest as a strategy to deal with food insecurity. Local governments need to provide social assistance as well as increase entrepreneurial interest by providing working capital funds. Socialization and empowerment for productive age groups related to the use of homeyard (green house program) are recommended to meet household food needs

Integration of infrared thermography and photogrammetric surveying of built landscape

The thermal analysis of buildings represents a key-step for reduction of energy consumption, also in the case of Cultural Heritage. Here the complexity of the constructions and the adopted materials might require special analysis and tailored solutions. Infrared Thermography (IRT) is an important non-destructive investigation technique that may aid in the thermal analysis of buildings. The paper reports the application of IRT on a listed building, belonging to the Cultural Heritage and to a residential one, as a demonstration that IRT is a suitable and convenient tool for analysing the existing buildings. The purposes of the analysis are the assessment of the damages and energy efficiency of the building envelope. Since in many cases the complex geometry of historic constructions may involve the thermal analysis, the integration of IRT and accurate 3D models were developed during the latest years. Here authors propose a solution based on the up-to-date photogrammetric solutions for purely image-based 3D modelling, including automatic image orientation/sensor calibration using Structure-from-Motion and dense matching. Thus, an almost fully automatic pipeline for the generation of accurate 3D models showing the temperatures on a building skin in a realistic manner is described, where the only manual task is given by the measurement of a few common points for co-registration of RGB and IR photogrammetric projects.Xunta de Galicia | Ref. Is group work effectively used in International Baccalaureate for outstanding students? Exploring opinions of International Baccalaureate teachers about their teaching practices and the role of the language at Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma (DP) level

    Get PDF
The main question that this study is intended to contribute to answering is: “ Is group work effectively used in IB at MYP and DP level for outstanding students?” exploring opinions of IB teachers about their practices and the role of the language. Group work is nowadays a consolidated practice for any subject taught in the International Baccalaureate (IB) both at Middle Years (MYP, students aged 11 to 16) and Diploma (DP, students aged 16 to 19) level and also a common tool of the communicative approach for teaching languages. However previous studies (Frykedal & Chiriac, 2011; Chiriac & Granström, 2012; Le, Janssen & Wubbels, 2018) have indicated that both teachers and students encounters difficulties while working with groups. Most of the obstacles are connected with assessment and individual assessment of talented students (Dijkstra, Latijnhouwers, Norbart & Tio, 2016), but also with negative experiences and presumptions (Pauli, Mohiyeddini, Bray, Michie & Street, 2008; Peterson & Irving, 2008). So how teachers plan and react when they set group work for talented (also known as advanced learners or high achievers or gifted ) students? What are the beliefs and practices? What are the real outcomes? Is language playing an important role and how is it used? This Master of Secondary Teaching thesis describes perceptions and opinions of 10 IB MYP and DP teachers of International Community School of London, interviewed in May 2019. Questions asked them to reflect about their practices and beliefs and to share their opinions about group work . The main purpose of this study was to obtain not only increased knowledge of how IB teachers assess individual learning occurring in group work, but also explore how teachers manage the emerging challenges, especially those related to the differentiation for high achieving students, assessing individual effort in a group work, peer assessment and the role of the language. Using the phenomenological method of qualitative research, this study reports that the participants identified various challenges within the purpose of the group activity.

The Low Mode (LM) and Monte Carlo (MC) conformational search methods were compared on three diverse molecular systems; (4R, 5S, 6S, 7R)-hexahydro-5,6-dihydroxy-1,3,4,7-tetrakis(phenylmethyl)-2H-1,3-diazapin-2-one (1), 2-methoxy-2-phenyl-2-triflouromethyl-N-α-methyl benzyl propanamide (2) and a trimeric 39-membered polyazamacrolide (3). We find that either method, or a combination of the methods, is equally efficient at searching the conformational space of the smaller molecular systems while a 50:50 hybrid of Low Mode and Monte Carlo is most efficient at searching the space of the larger molecular system

    Get PDF
Abstract   COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a new coronavirus that was discovered in 2019 in Wuhan, China. COVID-19 is now a pandemic that threatens the whole world. Not a few people have created a stigma related to this disease, so Covid-19 survivors are usually feared and very shunned by people who don't understand this disease. This acitivity aimed to reduce the negative stigma towards Covid-19 survivors by utilizing health promotion media i.e. videos, posters, and stickers for four churches in Kupang City, i.e. GMIT Pohonitas Manulai II, GMIT Kota Kupang, GMIT Paulus, and GMIT Ararat. This activity is carried out by creating, setting, broadcasting, and disseminating the health promotion media. The visual and audiovisual media were posted and broadcast at the target locations (four churches). This activity can be carried out well but has encountered problems because the activity was carried out when the Covid-19 pandemic in Kupang City reached PPKM level four, so the church were temporarily closed. For this reason, activities can be carried out when the church is re-opened. Based on the results of observations, with a positive response, the church accepted all the health promotion media provided. &nbsp
