Toward Microstate Counting Beyond Large N in Localization and the Dual One-loop Quantum Supergravity

The topologically twisted index for ABJM theory with gauge group U(N)k×U(N)kU(N)_k \times U(N)_{-k} has recently been shown, in the large-NN limit, to reproduce the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of certain magnetically charged asymptotically AdS4_4 black holes. We numerically study the index beyond the large-NN limit and provide evidence that it contains a subleading logarithmic term of the form 1/2logN-1/2\log N. On the holographic side, this term naturally arises from a one-loop computation. However, we find that the contribution coming from the near horizon states does not reproduce the field theory answer. We give some possible reasons for this apparent discrepancy.Comment: 17 pages, 2 figures, discussion improve

Spectra of certain holographic ABJM Wilson loops in higher rank representations

    Get PDF
The holographic configurations dual to Wilson loops in higher rank representations in the ABJM theory are described by branes with electric flux along their world volumes. In particular, D2 and D6 branes with electric flux play a central role as potential dual to totally symmetric and totally antisymmetric representations, respectively. We compute the spectra of excitations of these brane configurations in both, the bosonic and fermionic sectors. We highlight a number of aspects that distinguish these configurations from their D3 and D5 cousins including new peculiar mixing terms in the fluctuations. We neatly organize the spectrum of fluctuations into the corresponding supermultiplets

A review on acceptability of denture polymers having gold and silver nanoparticles

In dentistry, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is commonly used as a base material for dentures. PMMA has been widely used in a range of dental applications because of its specific features, including its low density, aesthetics, cost-effectiveness, ease of manipulation, and flexible physical and mechanical characteristics. Despite having many advantageous qualities, it has a lot of cons like weak flexural strength, poor wear resistance, polymerization shrinkage, and poor durability etc., The emergence of nanotechnology has allowed for the improvement of the aforementioned drawbacks through the use of different nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles have been used in dentistry due to their antimicrobial, and antifungal properties. They also enhance the mechanical properties of materials leading to improved outcomes. Gold nanoparticles are available in different sizes and concentrations to exhibit their beneficial outcomes. This review aimed to discuss the properties of silver and gold nanoparticles, their form of incorporation, benefits, acceptance and their clinical significance when added with denture polymers

Zeta-function regularization of holographic Wilson loops

Using zeta-function regularization, we study the one-loop effective action of fundamental strings in AdS5 xS5 dual to the latitude 1/4-BPS Wilson loop in N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory. To avoid certain ambiguities inherent to string theory on curved backgrounds we subtract the effective action of the holographic 1/2-BPS Wilson loop. We find agreement with the expected field theory result at first order in the small latitude angle expansion but discrepancies at higher order.Fil: Aguilera Damia, Jeremías. Cytomorphological Studies on Stem of Luffa echinata Roxb

Luffa echinata Roxb., commonly known as Bindal in Hindi is used for its hypoglycemic activity in the indigenous system of medicine. No pharmacognostical study on stem is reported in the literature till date; therefore, it was decided to study macroscopical and cytomorphological characters in detail to bring out salient diagnostic features. The stem pieces available in the market are 1.5–17 cm long and 5–8 mm in diameter, showing yellowish-brown to brownish-black surface with longitudinal furrows, fracture is fibrous, and taste is bitter. Mature stem shows single-layered epidermis, seven layers of collenchyma below five ridges but one to two layers of parenchyma in rest of the region beneath the epidermis, continuous wide wavy layer of pericycle composed of three to eight layers of fiber. There are five conjoint bi-collateral open vascular bundles one below each ridge and additional four medullary vascular bundles in the pith each facing furrows
