    Estimation of return stock rate by using wavelet and kernel smoothers

    This article aim to estimate the Return Stock Rate of the private banking sector, with two banks, by adopting a Partial Linear Model based on the Arbitrage Pricing Model (APT) theory, using Wavelet and Kernel Smoothers. The results have proved that the wavelet method is the best. Also, the results of the market portfolio impact and inflation rate have proved an adversely effectiveness on the rate of return, and direct impact of the money supply

    Factory-Built Housing in Indonesia: Current Practice and Future Challenges

    . Recent earthquake and tsunami in Aceh and North Sumatra has left Indonesia big responsibility in fulfilling housing need for people who lost their homes after this calamity. Use of mass-produced, factory-built systems for housing construction is technology that can be used as a solution to this problem. Factory-built housing can be defined as houses that are partly or all constructed in factory environment, then are transported and erected/assembled at permanent site. This paper is a summary of recent practices and potential development of factorybuilt housing in Indonesia by considering several Indonesian National Standard (SNI) which available. The aim of this paper is to explain the possibility of factory-built housing technology in Indonesia. The study synthesises information collected from review and analysis of trade and scientific literatures, a series of site visits to factorybuilt housing companies in industrialized countries; and discussions with academic institutions and building regulators in Indonesia. Definitions and types of factory-built systems are presented first followed by discussion of practical, regulatory, standards, and scientific issues applicable in Indonesia. Findings are identified as potential research needs in factory-built housing

    Pelaksanaan praktikum di laboratorium sering ditemukan kesalahan pengukuran dan kesalahan pembacaan alat ukur. Kesalahan di dalam praktikum menyebabkan data yang didapat tidak sesuai yang diharapkan. Terkadang juga dijumpai kesamaan data percobaan praktikan satu dengan lainya, berarti data percobaan tersebut disangsikan keasliannya. Penelitian ini untuk mengurangi kesalahan pengukuran dan kesalahan pencatatan dalam praktikum dengan menggunakan instrumentasi yang mampu menunjukkan tingkat ketelitian dan memilih hasil pengukuran yang paling sedikit kesalahannya dengan metode fuzzy. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode logika Fuzzy efektif untuk memberikan rekomendasi pengukuran praktikum didasarkan pada nilai derajatkeanggotaan danfire strength(nilai kebenaran) dari proses perhitungan pada aplikasi tersebut

    EFFICIENCY OPTIMIZATION OF AN OPENLOOP CONTROLLED PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR DRIVE USING ADAPTIVE NEURAL NETWORKS

    When a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) is utilized for applications where high dynamic performance is not a requirement, a simple open loop control strategy can be used to control them. PMSMs however are prone to instability when operated open loop in a variable speed drive, particularly at mid-frequencies/speeds. This paper presents an open-loop control strategy based on a direct adaptive neural network controller is developed for efficiency optimization of open-loop controlled PMSM drive. Stability constraints of the drive system which was previously reported are used to maintain both stable and highly efficient operation of the drive system. The adopted neural network can be viewed as a method for nonlinear adaptive system identification, relying on pattern recognition of stability limits and maximum obtainable efficiency. Results from computer simulation show that a stable and highly efficient operation can be maintained for the drive system under study irrespective of load and supply variations. The obtained results are also found in correlation with previously reported experiments and observations

    THE IMPACT OF NEW TARGETING METHODS IN THE CANCER THERAPY

    Rapid development has achieved in treating tumor to stop malignant cell growth and metastasis in the past decade. Numerous researches have emerged to increase potency and efficacy with novel methods for drug delivery. The main objective of this literature review was to illustrate the impact of current new targeting methods to other previous delivering systems to select the most appropriate method in cancer therapy. This review first gave a brief summary of cancer structure and highlighted the main roles of targeting systems. Different types of delivering systems have been addressed in this literature review with focusing on the latest carrier derived from malarial protein. The remarkable advantages and main limitations of the later have been also discussed. PubMed and Science Direct were the main search engines that have been used as information sources to prepare this review. Articles related to cancer targeting system, active and passive processes, current nanoparticles, antibody carriers, and current novel cancer carriers were used as sources in this review. Important points from many references published in the last decade (2008-2018) were selected and included. Several targeting methods were introduced to enhance the efficacy and tolerability of the toxic drug by active and passive processes, but there is still no conclusive carrier without certain drawbacks. A combination of targeting methods probably shows the most appropriate choice for increasing selectivity and safety of anticancer drugs via reducing the concentration of carriers used

    Experimental and numerical investigations of composite concrete steel flexural members with angle shear connectors under negative moment

    Experimental and numerical research has been conducted to investigate the role of using angle shear connectors as a replacement of headed stud (HS) on the performance of the composite beams under the effect of the negative bending moment (NBM). The replacement was done by using the same cross-section area for both connectors. A total of five specimens were fabricated and tested under the effect of NBM. Shear connector type, bond interaction (partial and full), and angle shear connectors arrangement were considered as the main parameters. A finite element model (FEM) was built using commercial software for modeling the composite beams. The experimental results, the ultimate strength decreased by 4.12% for single angle shear connectors, compared to the specimens with HS shear connectors. The numerical results showed a good agreement with the experimental results in terms of load-displacement relation and mode of failure

    Ameliorating Effect of Oral Guggulsterone Administration in Imiquimod-Induced Psoriasis in Mice

    Psoriasis is a common chronic skin condition characterized by infiltration of inflammatory cells into the epidermis and altered keratinocyte differentiation. In this work, psoriasis was induced by an imiquimod 5% cream, an immune response modifier that can induce psoriasis-like skin inflammation when applied topically in mice. Guggulsterone prepared as a suspension and has been orally given to mice before imiquimod application. The results of the current study showed that guggulsterone suspension can significantly reduce psoriasis area and severity index in (guggul suspension+imiquimod group as compared with both control group and (vehicle suspension+imiquimod ) group
