Abstract: The teachers in permanent contact with persons manage to show high emotional weariness, despersonalization and low personal accomplishment known as Burn-out (Syndrome of Burned by the Work SQT) that can appear between individuals who work with persons on having demanded of them a labor performance. This syndrome from an approach of administration of the human capital, affects the quality and efficiency of the organizations. In this one investigation will be explored basically: in what degree do the active teachers of the Faculty of Public Accountancy and Administration (FACPyA) of the Autonomous University again León (UANL) suffer SQT's syndrome? Are the age, the kind and to have pair factors that relate in subjects that suffer SQT's syndrome? ¿Have the labor antiquity, the labor satisfaction and the labor relations between the subjects of the investigation some significant degree of relation with SQT's levels? This effort generates in the human resource different alterations and physical and psychological wears that diminish the labor performance, reverberating not only to operative and administrative level, also is reflected in the conduct of the individual as well as in his mental condition, reflection that denotes job stress which is considered to be clinical A Syndrome of the Burn-out (Syndrome of Burned by the Work SQT). This investigation, it has as aim know and describe by means of a study of descriptive analysis, the impact that has the overload of stress in the teachers of the FACPyA of the UANL. Key words: Syndrome Burned by the Work (SQT), stress, teachers

To better understand these preferences, we conducted 23 in-depth interviews with patients between the ages of 28 and 78 receiving treatment at two academic hospitals and the National Cancer Institute. While many participants desired a peaceful death, few were comfortable discussing the topic of death directly. Some younger participants expressed an interest in euthanasia but had not received any guidance or support. While several participants preferred a home death, some expressed a desire to die in a hospital due to better symptom control. Additionally, when discussing post-death wishes, some participants expressed frustration about being unable to have these conversations with their loved ones and their preferences for funeral arrangements.Revista Internacional - IndexadaS

Regional Control Areas (RCAs) have been implemented in Mexico as a strategy to delay the spread of Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, the causal bacterium of the disease known as Huanglongbing (HLB). The implementation of an effective management of the vector insect, Diaphorina citri in the RCAs requires the knowledge, acceptance and coordinated engagement of small agricultural producers. This research assessed the perception and knowledge of 62 citrus growers regarding the operational, sociocultural and environmental factors influencing chemical control of D. citri in four RCAs within Veracruz State. According to their responses, the following factors have been identified as the operational factors with the highest influence on the effectiveness of insecticides against D. citri within RCAs: the lack of knowledge about the use of surfactants, application speed, poor calibration of sprayers and incorrect water quality. The most significant sociocultural factors are the general unawareness of the pest and the safe and proper application of pesticides. The most relevant environmental factors during application: temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed. Sociocultural index correlated with the perception of effectiveness. Therefore, it becomes necessary to consider differences among citrus growers in each region and setting out the most appropriatestrategies for vector and disease management. Highlights Some operational practices that citrus growers are not aware of may influence their perception of chemical control. The sociocultural context of growers determines their decision-taking on insecticide applications. During the application of insecticides in regional control areas (RCAs), growers do not take into account weather conditions. BVRI CCD-based and near-IR (J) imaging, together with unfiltered photometry of the hot subdwarf B star PG 0856+121 are reported. Two close, faint, red, point-like sources are resolved. They account for the previously reported IR excess observed in this hot subdwarf. In addition, the new unfiltered differential photometry of PG 0856+121 confirms its previously reported pulsational nature. A comparison with the oscillation modes of stellar models suggests the possible presence of g modes.Comment: Accepted for publication in A&A. Seven pages, four figures include

Cardiac electrical defects in progeroid mice and Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome patients with nuclear lamina alterations

Hutchinson–Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) is a rare genetic disease caused by defective prelamin A processing, leading to nuclear lamina alterations, severe cardiovascular pathology, and premature death. Prelamin A alterations also occur in physiological aging. It remains unknown how defective prelamin A processing affects the cardiac rhythm. We show age-dependent cardiac repolarization abnormalities in HGPS patients that are also present in the Zmpste24-/- mouse model of HGPS. Challenge of Zmpste24-/- mice with the ß-adrenergic agonist isoproterenol did not trigger ventricular arrhythmia but caused bradycardia-related premature ventricular complexes and slow-rate polymorphic ventricular rhythms during recovery. Patch-clamping in Zmpste24-/- cardiomyocytes revealed prolonged calcium-transient duration and reduced sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium loading and release, consistent with the absence of isoproterenol-induced ventricular arrhythmia. Zmpste24-/- progeroid mice also developed severe fibrosis-unrelated bradycardia and PQ interval and QRS complex prolongation. These conduction defects were accompanied by overt mislocalization of the gap junction protein connexin43 (Cx43). Remarkably, Cx43 mislocalization was also evident in autopsied left ventricle tissue from HGPS patients, suggesting intercellular connectivity alterations at late stages of the disease. The similarities between HGPS patients and progeroid mice reported here strongly suggest that defective cardiac repolarization and cardiomyocyte connectivity are important abnormalities in the HGPS pathogenesis that increase the risk of arrhythmia and premature death.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

The objective was to analyze the effects of non-surgical periodontal therapy on clinical parameters in patients using cannabis. A non-randomized clinical study was conducted with 40 volunteers from Universidad de Antioquia divided into 2 groups: 20 participants using cannabis (smokers) and 20 non-users (control). All clinical parameters regarding probing depth (PD), clinical attachment level (CAL), and bleeding on probing (BOP) were recorded at baseline and 3 months after non-surgical periodontal therapy. Differences between groups were assessed with the Mann Whitney test and were considered significant when p≤0.05. Data was analyzed using the SPSS statistical software. Participants using cannabis had a frequency of use of 3 times/day (60%), 2 times/day (10%) and 1 time/day (30%). In general, smokers had higher BOP at both examinations as opposed to non-smokers, this difference being statistically significant (p<0.05). No differences were observed for PD with a mean of 2.09 ± 0.73 mm at baseline and 2.15 ± 0.65 mm at 3 months, showing a small increase between the two. CAL was also slightly higher in smokers than in non-users. There was no significant evidence in the studied population relating periodontal disease with cannabis consumption. The response of periodontal tissues to non-surgical therapy was similar between cannabis users and non-users.O objetivo foi analisar os efeitos da terapia periodontal não cirúrgica sobre parâmetros clínicos periodontais em pacientes consumidores de cannabis.

Geographic potential of the world’s largest hornet, Vespa mandarinia Smith (Hymenoptera: Vespidae), worldwide and particularly in North America

    Get PDF
The Asian giant hornet (AGH, Vespa mandarinia) is the world’s largest hornet, occurring naturally in the Indomalayan region, where it is a voracious predator of pollinating insects including honey bees. In September 2019, a nest of Asian giant hornets was detected outside of Vancouver, British Columbia; multiple individuals were detected in British Columbia and Washington state in 2020; and another nest was found and eradicated in Washington state in November 2020, indicating that the AGH may have successfully wintered in North America. Because hornets tend to spread rapidly and become pests, reliable estimates of the potential invasive range of V. mandarinia in North America are needed to assess likely human and economic impacts, and to guide future eradication attempts. Here, we assess climatic suitability for AGH in North America, and suggest that, without control, this species could establish populations across the Pacific Northwest and much of eastern North America. Predicted suitable areas for AGH in North America overlap broadly with areas where honey production is highest, as well as with species-rich areas for native bumble bees and stingless bees of the genus Melipona in Mexico, highlighting the economic and environmental necessity of controlling this nascent invasion
