    Perturbation Analysis of the Kuramoto Phase Diffusion Equation Subject to Quenched Frequency Disorder

    The Kuramoto phase diffusion equation is a nonlinear partial differential equation which describes the spatio-temporal evolution of a phase variable in an oscillatory reaction diffusion system. Synchronization manifests itself in a stationary phase gradient where all phases throughout a system evolve with the same velocity, the synchronization frequency. The formation of concentric waves can be explained by local impurities of higher frequency which can entrain their surroundings. Concentric waves in synchronization also occur in heterogeneous systems, where the local frequencies are distributed randomly. We present a perturbation analysis of the synchronization frequency where the perturbation is given by the heterogeneity of natural frequencies in the system. The nonlinearity in form of dispersion, leads to an overall acceleration of the oscillation for which the expected value can be calculated from the second order perturbation terms. We apply the theory to simple topologies, like a line or the sphere, and deduce the dependence of the synchronization frequency on the size and the dimension of the oscillatory medium. We show that our theory can be extended to include rotating waves in a medium with periodic boundary conditions. By changing a system parameter the synchronized state may become quasi degenerate. We demonstrate how perturbation theory fails at such a critical point.Comment: 22 pages, 5 figure

    Population growth and persistence in a heterogeneous environment: the role of diffusion and advection

    The spatio-temporal dynamics of a population present one of the most fascinating aspects and challenges for ecological modelling. In this article we review some simple mathematical models, based on one dimensional reaction-diffusion-advection equations, for the growth of a population on a heterogeneous habitat. Considering a number of models of increasing complexity we investigate the often contrary roles of advection and diffusion for the persistence of the population. When it is possible we demonstrate basic mathematical techniques and give the critical conditions providing the survival of a population, in simple systems and in more complex resource-consumer models which describe the dynamics of phytoplankton in a water column.Comment: Introductory review of simple conceptual models. 45 pages, 15 figures v2: minor change

    Quasi regular concentric waves in heterogeneous lattices of coupled oscillators

    We study the pattern formation in a lattice of coupled phase oscillators with quenched disorder. In the synchronized regime concentric waves can arise, which are induced and increase in regularity by the disorder of the system. Maximal regularity is found at the edge of the synchronization regime. The emergence of the concentric waves is related to the symmetry breaking of the interaction function. An explanation of the numerically observed phenomena is given in a one-dimensional chain of coupled phase oscillators. This catalog is a technical guide to the use of stereo coverage within the complex Viking imaging data set. Since that data set is still growing (January, 1980, about 3 1/2 years after the mission began), a second edition of this catalog is planned with completion expected about November, 1980

    Keberhasilan pembelajaran disekolah dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor salah satunya adalah model pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran model cooperative script dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas VIIIE SMP Negeri 2 Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, yang berlangsung selama dua siklus dengan tahapan-tahapan pelaksanaanya adalah perencanaan, tindakan, pegamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelasVIIIE, yang berjumlah 19 orang siswa. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data tentang situasi belajar pada saat dilaksanakan tindakan yang diperoleh dengan lembar observasi siswa, dan data hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh dengan memberi teske pada siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase ketuntasan kelas mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I sebesar 52, 63% dan pada siklus II menjadi 100%. Dengan demikian peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa Cooperative script efektif untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelasVIIIE SMP Negeri 2 Kefamenanu. Dari simpulan tersebut peneliti menyarankan kepada guru mata pelajaran biologi agar memilih Cooperative Script dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa

    Instrument requirements of planetary geology orbiters were examined with the objective of determining the feasibility of applying standard instrument designs to a host of terrestrial targets. Within the basic discipline area of geochemistry, gamma-ray, X-ray fluorescence, and atomic spectroscopy remote sensing techniques were considered. Within the discipline area of geophysics, the complementary techniques of gravimetry and radar were studied. Experiments using these techniques were analyzed for comparison at the Moon, Mercury, Mars and the Galilean satellites. On the basis of these comparative assessments, the adaptability of each sensing technique was judged as a basic technique for many targets, as a single instrument applied to many targets, as a single instrument used in different mission modes, and as an instrument capability for nongeoscience objectives

    Penelitian Tesis ini mengangkat masalah Analisis Yuridis Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Anggota Penyimpan Dana Pada Koperasi Credit Union Khatulistiwa Bakti Pontianak.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Normatif Sosiologis. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa hubungan hukum antara anggota penyimpan dana dengan koperasi CU Khatulistiwa Bakti merupakan hubungan hukum keperdataan yang didasarkan pada kepercayaan, karena anggota CU Khatulistiwa Bakti merupakan pemilik dan sekaligus pengguna jasa CU Khatulistiwa Bakti. Perlindungan hukum terhadap anggota penyimpan dana pada koperasi CU Khatulistiwa Bakti belum sepenuhnya terakomodir dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 17 Tahun 2012 tentang Perkoperasian, karena dalam undang-undang koperasi ini tidak menegaskan kewajiban pemerintah melainkan hanya menyatakan bahwa Pemerintah dapat membentuk Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan Koperasi Simpan Pinjam untuk menjamin Simpanan Anggota. Selama ini dana simpanan anggota pada CU Khatulistiwa Bakti ditanggung oleh CU Khatulistiwa Bakti sendiri, dan ada beberapa bentuk simpanan dan pinjaman yang diikutkan dalam program Jalinan Puskopdit BKCU Kalimantan dan program asuransi. Pelaksanaan sistem pengaturan aktivitas usaha simpan pinjam pada koperasi CU Khatulistiwa Bakti didasarkan pada ketentuan yang terdapat dalam Akta Pendirian Badan Hukum, Anggaran Dasar dan Anggaran Rumah Tangga, Pola Kebijakan Pengurus, dan Keputusan dalam Rapat Tahunan Anggota. Dalam kegiatan usahanya CU Khatulistiwa Bakti memberikan balas jasa anggota, baik berupa balas jasa simpanan maupun balas jasa pinjaman. Rekomendasi yang diberikan adalah bahwa perlu adanya pengaturan yang jelas dan tegas mengenai perlindungan hukum terhadap dana simpanan anggota. Pemerintah harus segera membentuk Lembaga Penjamin Koperasi Simpan Pinjam yang menyelenggarakan program penjaminan Simpanan bagi Anggota Koperasi Simpan Pinjam, agar anggota yang menyimpan dananya di koperasi simpan pinjam atau Credit Union tidak merasa ragu-ragu atas keamanan dana mereka. Pengurus CU Khatulistiwa Bakti harus peka dalam menangkap berbagai peluang dan menciptakan berbagai inovasi untuk memajukan CU Khatulistiwa Bakti demi untuk meningkat taraf hidup dan kesejahteraan anggotanya.3AbstractThis thesis studies raise the issue of "Analysis of Legal Protection Against Judicial Depositary Members Cooperative Credit Union Funds On the Equator Bakti Pontianak".This study uses Normative Sociological research methods. The survey results revealed that the legal relationship between the members of the co-operative depositors CU Equator Bakti a civil law relationship based on trust, as members of the CU Equatorial Bakti is the owner and user services Bakti CU Equator. Legal protection of depositors members at CU cooperative Equatorial Bakti has not fully accommodated in Law No. 17 of 2012 on Cooperatives, because the law does not assert liability cooperative government, but merely states that the Government can establish LPS for Credit Unions Member Deposits guarantee. During this time members of the deposits CU CU Equator Equator Bakti Bakti borne by themselves, and there is some form of deposits and loans are included in the program Braided Puskopdit BKCU Kalimantan and insurance programs.Implementation of the regulatory system of business activity in the savings and loan cooperatives Equatorial Bakti CU based on the provisions contained in the Deed of Legal Entities, Articles of Association and Bylaws, Board Policies Patterns, and Decision in the Annual Meeting of Members. In the normal course of business Equatorial CU Bakti provide fringe members, either in the form of fringe benefits savings and loan remuneration.The recommendation given is that the need for setting clear and firm about the legal protection of members savings fund. The Government should immediately establish Credit Unions Insurance Agency which organized the program for the Deposit Guarantee Member Credit Unions, so that members who save their money in credit unions or credit union does not have any doubts on the safety of their funds. CU administrators must be sensitive to the Equator Bakti at capturing a variety of opportunities and create a variety of innovations to advance the Equator Consecrated by CU to increase the standard of living and welfare of its members

    Studi Perbandingan Karakteristik Agregat Quarry Nangapanda Dan Quarry Aemau Untuk Lapis Pondasi Bawah (Sub Base)

    Salah satu bahan penyusun perkerasan jalan adalah agregat,untuk itu perlu dilakukan penelitian terhadap karakteristik material agregat sebagai bahan dasar konstruksi jalan. Quarry Nangapanda dan quarry Aemau merupakan sumber material yang sering digunakan untuk pembangunan pekerjaan jalan di Kabupaten Ende dan Nagekeo. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik agregat quarry Nangapanda dan quarry Aemau, serta perbandingan karakteristiknya untuk lapis pondasi bawah (sub base). Metode yang digunakan adalah Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI). Hasil pengujian analisis saringan agregat dua quarry ini termasuk dalam tipikal gradasi seragam,berat jenis (bulk) quarry Nangapanda sebesar 2,53 dan quarry Aemau sebesar 2,84. Penyerapan (absorption) untuk quarry Nangapanda sebesar 2,81% dan quarry Aemau sebesar 1,60%,kadar air agregat quarry Nangapanda sebesar 1,51% dan quarry Aemau sebesar 1,075%,agregat yang lolos nomor 200 (0,075 mm) quarry Nangapanda sebesar 0,283% dan quarry Aemau sebesar 0,423%, keausan agregat quarry Nangapanda sebesar 18,30% dan quarry Aemau sebesar 12,06%. Hasil akhir agregat dua quarry ini sudah memenuhi syarat SNI dengan perbandingan karakteristik agregat quarry Aemau lebih baik dari agregat quarry Nangapanda
