This study examined the organizational team building culture among teachers in Gombak, Selangor. Aspects that were being studied were the teachers’ perception on the elements of team building, the relation between team building factors and motivational factors and differences between gender and the eight factors of team building which were goals, priorities, roles and responsibilities, self-awareness, leadership, group dynamics, communications and environment. Development of reinforced thermoplastic elastomer with kenaf bast fibre for automotive component

This paper compared mechanical properties of kenaf fibre (KF) composites in different matrix systems namely; thermoplastic natural rubber (TPNR) and polypropylene/ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer (PP/EPDM). Both composites were produced via melt blending method using Haake internal mixer, and then compression moulded. The ratio of thermoplastic:elastomer was 70:30 for both polymer blends. The composites were reinforced with 20% kenaf fibre by volume. In addition, maleic anhydride polypropylene (MAPP) was also added as a compatibilizer in the case of treated composite. From the tensile tests, it was found that the tensile strength for TPNR is about 12% higher than the PP/PPDM matrix system. However the present of KF and MAPP has significantly increased the tensile strength of the PP/EPDM composite by approximately 81% while only 55% increment attained in TPNR-KF-MAPP as compared to unreinforced TPNR. This shows that KF has imparted its strength to the PP/EPDM system with good interaction provided by the compatibilizer agent. From the scanning electron micrographs (SEM), it has revealed that the improvement achieved in mechanical properties was due to the interaction between both matrix systems and kenaf fibre. As a conclusion, development of reinforced PP/EPDM with kenaf fibre has a potential to be applied as automotive component

Comparison of methods to estimate missing rainfall data for short term period at UMP Gambang

Hydrological analysis is crucial for planning or designing engineering structures and water resources system as stated by World Meteorological Organization (WMO). A long and complete data set of rainfall is required in order to carry out the hydrological study successfully. However, the most common problem that always come up in data collection is the lacking of data due to some occurrence involving the equipment installed that may cause the error to occur. For this study, another problem that has been a concern is the availability of the rainfall data is insufficient as the studied area is newly developed so the limitation of the existing data may affect to the relevance of this study. Therefore, this study is mainly conducted to compare three existing methods from previous scholars which are Arithmetic Mean Method, Normal Ratio Method and Inverse Distance Weighting Method to prove whether these methods are capable to fill the gaps of rainfall data for short term period of study. The existing data collected at the target station are then compared with the three methods whether the results gained are similar or otherwise. Nowadays porous asphalt pavement increase usage other than the traditional type of asphalt pavement. In that sense porous asphalt specially use in the parking areas and walk ways for pedestrian. There are diverse ways that has been done in order to stick up to permanent degradation such as adding fibers and modifiers like polymers, chemical modifiers, expandars, oxidants and antioxidents, hydrocarbons and antistripping to enhance the fatigue and service life of the pavement. To use these type of additives in porous asphalt pavement some additive increase the mechanical performance of porous asphalt mixture and improve the serviceability of the pavement. Digital image processing use these type of pavement to reduce the air void of the asphalt mixture and increase the physical properties of the porous asphalt pavement. Impurity effects on the melting of Ni clusters

We demonstrate that the addition of a single carbon impurity leads to significant changes in the thermodynamic properties of Ni clusters consisting of more than a hundred atoms. The magnitude of the change induced is dependent upon the parameters of the Ni-C interaction. Hence, thermodynamic properties of Ni clusters can be effectively tuned by the addition of an impurity of a particular type. We also show that the presence of a carbon impurity considerably changes the mobility and diffusion of atoms in the Ni cluster at temperatures close to its melting point. The calculated diffusion coefficients of the carbon impurity in the Ni cluster can be used for a reliable estimate of the growth rate of carbon nanotubes.Comment: 27 pages, 13 figure

Amalan lindung nilai dan nilai syarikat di Malaysia: kesan penyederhanaan risiko FX dan status patuh shariah

Kajian ini merungkai persoalan hubungan antara amalan lindung nilai dengan nilai syarikat dengan mengambil kira sama ada risiko mata wang asing (risiko FX) dan status patuh Shariah menyerderhanakan hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan satu kajian terhadap perlaksanaan Piawaian Pelaporan Kewangan (FRS) 7 dan 139 yang berkait dengan penambahbaikan pelaporan pengurusan risiko FX. Majoriti syarikat tersenarai di Malaysia adalah patuh Shariah, oleh itu amalan lindung nilai perlu diperhalusi apabila ia dilaksanakan menggunakan derivatif FX konvensional yang melibatkan riba’. Justeru, objektif kajian adalah mengkaji hubungan antara amalan lindung nilai mengggunakan derivatif FX dengan nilai syarikat, serta mengkaji kesan penyederhanaan risiko FX dan status patuh Shariah terhadap hubungan tersebut. Kajian menggunakan kaedah momen teritlak terhadap 250 syarikat bukan kewangan tersenarai Malaysia, meliputi tempoh 2010 hingga 2018. Keputusan kajian menunjukkan amalan lindung nilai berhubung secara positif dan signifikan dengan nilai syarikat, dan hubungan tersebut disederhanakan oleh risiko FX dan status patuh Shariah. Lembaga Piawaian Perakaunan Malaysia perlu mengetatkan pelaporan perakaunan syarikat untuk memastikan syarikat melaporkan secara terperinci risiko FX. Ini dapat membantu pelabur melihat kepentingan risiko FX terhadap amalan lindung nilai dan nilai syarikat. Selain itu, FRS perlu diperhalusi agar laporan kegiatan amalan lindung nilai selari dengan metodologi saringan Shariah

Pengelolaan dan Pengembangan Agroindustri Tahu Rumahan Di Desa Sialang Sakti Kecamatan Dayun, Kabupaten Siak

Sialang Sakti is one of the villages located in Dayun District, Siak Regency, Riau, Indonesia which has an area of ​​about 1,915 hectares. Sialang Sakti Village consists of 6 RW and 20 RT. The majority of the population in Sialang Sakti village make a living as farmers. Based on data from the village, the number of farmers is about 548 people, followed by the livelihoods of farm laborers around 138 people and the number of traders, both home and market traders around 40 people. The most widely cultivated agricultural commodity is oil palm. However, various production businesses in the village have begun to enter the stage of development that is under the guidance of the village business. Including in the home-based tofu production business which is mostly done by the local community. Soybean is the main ingredient in the management of this tofu production. In an effort to get soybeans, the village cooperates with several soybean sales agents to get good choices of soybeans. Therefore, the purpose of service by Kukerta Unri Students is in terms of managing and developing tofu businesses in the village. The methods used are surveys, collaboration, practice and training. The results obtained are in the form of good, savory and delicious tofu and the results of sales or marketing as income for the local community
