    Get PDF
Cytokine storms are much more common these days because of the corona epidemic. Cytokine storm is a serious complication known as an infusion reaction seen in the presence of infection or drug side effects. The reason for this is the increase in the number of white blood cells to fight viral and bacterial infections, as a result of which more cytokines are secreted and the feedback provided by them causes a severe inflammatory reaction and death if the patient does not focus on it. This article describes the concept of the Cytokine storm, how to increase cytokine and create a Cytokine storm, types of Cytokine storms, factors involved in its creation, and methods of diagnosis and treatment

One of the most main mission and structure of this study is the preferred simplicity of the bipedal walking locomotion system. The study included from simple to complicated legs as like single-legged, like humanoid and up to sixteen legs like a caterpillar. Most of the bipedal walking robots are with research study and we concentrated to emphasizes the significance of robotic legged motion stability in the compact. These bipedal walking robots can walk on rough surfaces, turn efficiently and climb staircase if needed. In particular, a suitable bipedal walking model having an upper link and a lower link will make the system to the desired motions, which has been experimentally exposed to provide a stable walking system. The MATLAB software tool is used to optimize the mechanical constraints and to compare, analyse and investigate the influence of motion stability. The simulation results show a possible performance of projected leg bipedal walking mechanism

Identification and evaluation of economically important traits in livestock is central to genetic improvement. The objective of this study was to evaluate heterosis and reciprocal effects for bodyweight and leather properties among progenies of pure and reciprocal crossing of West African Dwarf (WAD) and Red Sokoto (RS) goats. Bodyweights of 96 kids were recorded at birth, weaning and yearling. Skins collected from slaughtered goats at yearling were processed to leather using vegetable tanning approach. The leathers were subjected to physical analysis to determine Thickness, Percentage Elongation (PE), Surface Area, weight and grain properties comprising Load at Crack, Load at Tear, Distension at Crack and Distension at Tear.  Heterotic effect for bodyweight was negative at birth (-8.99%) and weaning (-11.15%) but positive at yearling (6.64%). Specific heterosis for bodyweight at yearling was higher for progenies of WAD does serviced with RS bucks. General and specific heterosis were positive for all the leather traits except PE. Specific heterosis was higher when RS does were serviced with WAD bucks. Reciprocal effects for bodyweight reduces with increase in goats’ age (Birth Weaning Yearling: 9.88 6.28 5.62).Reciprocal effects for grain properties were generally higher than other leather traits. This study concluded that WAD and RS goats are dissimilar in leather traits and bodyweight at different ages, and that choice of sire or dam for successful crossbreeding programme is trait dependen

Road transport is one of the most common means of transportation across the world. Bus transportation in Nigeria had witnessed many problems for the past decades considering the growing population with the attendant loss of lives and properties in most cities like Lagos in Nigeria. This paper focuses on the adequacy of services provided by Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Lagos State with respect to the extent to which it influences the socioeconomic conditions of bus commuters.  It examines the effect of services rendered by BRT on cost reduction potential, income and safety. Multistage sampling technique was used to select 20 samples each from all respondents in all local government area in Lagos State to reach a total of three hundred and thirty (330) samples. The data collection instrument was the questionnaire which was validated. Data collected were analysed with the use of descriptive statistics such as means, percentages and standard deviation and inferential statistics such as regression and analysis of variance techniques. Findings showed that BRT services has reduced the cost of bus commuters and also increased safety and security thereby increasing the socioeconomic condition of Lagosians. The study recommends improvements in BRT services through the deployment of technology as it had been used in developed countries. &nbsp

    Get PDF
The data and information available in most community environments is complex in nature. Sentimental data resources may possibly consist of textual data collected from multiple information sources with different representations and usually handled by different analytical models. These types of data resource characteristics can form multi-view polarity textual data. However, knowledge creation from this type of sentimental textual data requires considerable analytical efforts and capabilities. In particular, data mining practices can provide exceptional results in handling textual data formats. Besides, in the case of the textual data exists as multi-view or unstructured data formats, the hybrid and integrated analysis efforts of text data mining algorithms are vital to get helpful results. The objective of this research is to enhance the knowledge discovery from sentimental multi-view textual data which can be considered as unstructured data format to classify the polarity information documents in the form of two different categories or types of useful information. A proposed framework with integrated data mining algorithms has been discussed in this paper, which is achieved through the application of X-means algorithm for clustering and HotSpot algorithm of association rules. The analysis results have shown improved accuracies of classifying the sentimental multi-view textual data into two categories through the application of the proposed framework on online polarity user-reviews dataset upon a given topics

    Get PDF
Ex-situ bioremediation of 2,4-D herbicide-contaminated soil was studied using a slurry bioreactor operate at aerobic conditions. The performance of the slurry bioreactor was tested for three types of soil (sand, sandy loam and clay) contaminated with different concentration of 2,4-D, 200,300and500mg/kg soil. Sewage sludge was used as an inexpensive source of microorganisms which is available in large quantities in wastewater treatment plants. The results show that all biodegradation experiments demonstrated a significant decreases in 2,4-D concentration in the tested soils. The degradation efficiency in the slurry bioreactor decreases as the initial concentration of 2,4-D in the soils increases.A 100 % removal was achieved at initial concentration of 200mg 2,4-D/kg of sandy soil after 12 days and 92 % at 500mg 2,4-D/kg sandy soil after 14 days.Clay soil represented minimum removal efficiency among the three soils, 82 % at initial concentration of 200mg 2,4-D/kg clay soil after 12 days and 72 % for 500mg 2,4-D/kg clay soil after 14 days. Abiotic conditions were performed to investigate the desorption efficiency of the contaminant from soil to liquid phase through the three soils. In abiotic reactor the results showed that the rate of desorption for sand and sandy loam soils were nearly the same, it varied between0.102-0.135 day-1 at different initial concentration of 2,4-D. While for clay soil the desorption rate varied between 0.042- 0.031 day-1 at different initial concentration of 2,4-D. The decrease in desorption rate in clay soil refers to the characteristic of clay soil, (fine texture, high organic matter and high cation exchange capacity compared with the other soils) that may retain the 2,4-D in the organic matter and the clay minerals

The mobile phone system is one of the instrumental devices that has helped shaped our socio-economic ecosystem in many ways, and it has been an integral part of many societies all over the world due to its versatility. Nigeria currently is facing a great deal of economic hardship owing to successive political failures to balance the import-to-export ratio over the years thus affecting the nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Gross National Income (GNI). Domestic production of mobile phones has been identified as one of the structures if put in place that can help in a national economic revival in terms of a technological revolution that would contribute to the GDP, GNI, and general economic effect. In this paper, we identified some key elements that could help establish the mobile phone production industry in Nigeria which include identifying the existing phone markets and buyers' usage patterns to guide in the kind of phone to be produced that would appeal to Nigerians and their neighbouring countries such that it would scale well and have a competitive advantage over imported phones. With the help of a survey aided by Google Form, an insight into the kind of phones Nigerians uses and preferred was elucidated. Furthermore, a small-scale design of a phone was carried out to test the technical or manpower know-how and feasibility of the venture. Overall, the feasibility of embarking on domestic production shows a green light
