Rescattering effects in hadron-nucleus and heavy-ion collisions

We review the extension of the factorization formalism of perturbative QCD to {\it coherent} soft rescattering associated with hard scattering in high energy nuclear collisions. We emphasize the ability to quantify high order corrections and the predictive power of factorization approach in terms of universal nonperturbative matrix elements. Although coherent rescattering effects are power suppressed by hard scales of the scattering, they are enhanced by the nuclear size and could play an important role in understanding the novel nuclear dependence observed in high energy nuclear collisions.Comment: 8 pages, 13 figures, to be published in the Proceedings of 1st International Conference on Hard and Electromagnetic Probes of High Energy Nuclear Collisions (Hard Probe 2004), Ericeira, Portugal, Nov. 4-10, 200

What Enhances Students' ICT Skills in the Class Operation? -From the Data Analysis Collected by the Three-year Operations

AA12480022全クラス統一のカリキュラムにより授業運営を行っている「情報活用」は、教育効果の測定指標として、「Rasti」を採用し、授業実施前後に受験させている。本研究では、2007年〜2009年各年度のRastiの得点の伸長状況を分析することにより、教育効果を評価した。その結果、「情報活用」は、(1)実施年度によらず60点〜80点程度のRasti得点伸長に効果があること、(2)補助学習として用いたeラーニングの論理力・数理力の最高得点および授業評価アンケートの「先生の言葉や説明」得点が高いほどRasti得点は有意に伸び幅が大きくなることが明らかになった。コース別運営の効果として、(3)コースを分けていなかった2007年度はRastiの授業前得点が高い群には得点伸長が見られないこと、(4)コースを分けた2008年、2009年は到達目標の高いコースほど得点が伸びていたことから、コース別運営の有効性が明らかになった。This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of an ICT training course operation. A data analysis was given on 2450 data, collected from the same ICT courses conducted in Otemae University, throughout 3 years from 2007 to 2009. All courses enhanced students' ICT skills about 60-80 points. The extension range of their ICT skills was significantly affected by some scores of the web based test in supplementary e-learning materials and a score of questionnaire survey. The lower ICT skill population significantly extended their post ICT scores more than that of the higher counterpart. Students who took higher course significantly attained higher educational achievement. It is, therefore, important to establish appropriate courses due to the student's enthusiasm.departmental bulletin pape
