    The Burden of Next-of-Kin Carers of Dementia Sufferers in the Home Environment

    The role and responsibilities of next-of-kin carers are significant, filling several years of their lives and causing them to experience a burden of care. This study was conducted to investigate the burden of next-of-kin carers for dementia sufferers in Slovakia. Data were compiled via the Relatives’ Stress Scale (RSS) screening instrument through a survey of 112 primary next-of-kin carers and analysed using the statistical tests of descriptive statistics, means, scores and significance differences (Wilcoxon test). This is one of the few scales which provides: (a) specific measures of caregiver stress, and (b) is standardised for a population of informal carers in the home environment. The profiles of Slovak next-of-kin carers were identified with statistically significant characteristics (gender, age of carers). The study identified a high level of caregiving stress (82.15%), and selected factors were found to be significant in all burden dimensions: emotional stress (p = 0.001), social stress (p = 0.003), and negative feelings (p = 0.002). The results emphasise the need for coordination of healthcare and social services, possibly by expanding the network of social support groups, operating a counselling hotline/chat, and introducing national educational programmes for the next-of-kin carers of dementia sufferers. The results are also a source of reference for the umbrella organisation ‘the Slovak Alzheimer’s Society’ to access when implementing changes at a national level.publishedVersio

    The impact of technostress on older adult employees

    This paper explores the challenges faced by older workers (50+) related to technostress and the digital divide. Technostress is a growing phenomenon resulting from the widespread use of ICT technologies in modern society. The aim of this paper is to propose and characterize strategies to reduce technostress and the digital divide that would help the inclusion and retention of older workers in both private and public organizations. This paper is based on the Arksey and O’Malley framework for scoping reviews. The results of the research conducted show that one of the most effective strategies to mitigate the effects of these phenomena is social dialogue between employers and employees, which can be a source of innovative and creative solutions. As part of the answer to the research question, we found that the social dialogue about solving the impact of technostress should include the active involvement of older adults, which would reflect their current needs.publishedVersio

    Desarrollo de competencias claves a través del aprendizaje-servicio

    The contribution answers the question as to what the benefits of service-learning in the development of key competences of Slovak university students of caring professions are. We used a combination of research methods to answer the research question. The survey sample was made up of students of social work, social pedagogy and teaching who graduated in the subjects with service-learning strategy in the academic years 2014/2015 to 2017/2018. The results of the research showed the benefits of service-learning in the development of selected key competences of students of caring professions.La contribución responde a la pregunta de cuáles son los beneficios del aprendizaje-servicio en el desarrollo de las competencias clave de los estudiantes de profesiones solidarias. Utilizamos una combinación de métodos de investigación para responder a la pregunta de investigación. La muestra de la encuesta estuvo formada por estudiantes de trabajo social, pedagogía social y educación que se graduaron en las materias con estrategia de servicio-aprendizaje en los años académicos 2014/2015 a 2017/2018. In the next part the travel agency VTT is shortly presented. The work continues with a detailed analysis of the offer. Also the sales promotion is mentioned because it is closely connected with the offer. Finally on the basis of previous parts the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are specified. The whole work is closed by a final evaluation of the offer of the travel agency VTT

    Diplomová práce "Člověk v labyrintu hodnot - k otázce možností, a limitů naplňování smyslu života v dnešním světě", osciluje tématicky a metodologicky na pomezí sociologie, filosofické antropologie, filosofie výchovy, etiky a filosofie kultury. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část artikuluje filosofické předpoklady, tématizuje problémy krize moderního člověka ve světě globalizace, krizi hodnot, postup hledání smyslu lidské existence, nastolení podmínek dialogu. V Prakticko-empirické části využívá filosofickou reflexi k aplikaci v oblasti výchovy k hodnotám.     Předmětem diplomové práce je analýza nabídky cestovních kanceláří ve vztahu k vybranému teritoriu, za které zvolila autorka Turecko. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda je nabídka zájezdů v rámci této destinace v ČR dostatečná a zda a jak by ji bylo možné dále rozšířit. Hypotéza zní tak, že cestovní kanceláře rozšířili svoji nabídku zájezdů do Turecka v reakci na vzniklé politické problémy v jeho konkurenčních destinacích. První část práce je zaměřena na vymezení základních pojmů -- cestovní kancelář, nabídka cestovní kanceláře a destinace. Druhá část se zabývá analýzou Turecka jako destinací cestovního ruchu. Poté následuje samotná analýza nabídky vybraných cestovních kanceláří působících na trhu České republiky. Analýza nabídky každé cestovní kanceláře je provedena z hlediska základního marketingového mixu, tedy produktu, jeho ceny, distribuce a propagace. Následuje vyhodnocení analýzy. Závěr práce je věnován shrnutí zjištěných výsledků ve vztahu k existujícím tržním segmentům a posouzení pravdivosti stanovené hypotézy.Subject matter of this thesis is the analysis of the offer of travel agencies in relation to a selected territory -- Turkey.     Bakalářská práce Edukace žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami ve střední škole má za cíl charakterizovat edukaci žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami ve střední škole a zjistit, s jakými druhy speciálních vzdělávacích potřeb se žáci ve střední škole vzdělávají, dále zjistit, zda a případně jaké speciálně-pedagogické metody jsou při edukaci žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami ve střední škole používány. Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí. Z části teoretické, kde jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy, charakterizován současný stav a edukace žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami ve středních školách. Je zde popsáno legislativní zabezpečení vzdělávání žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami a poskytování poradenských služeb, dále jsou vysvětlena a specifikována podpůrná opatření i speciálně-pedagogické metody. V části empirické se na základě dat, která byla získána prostřednictvím strukturovaných rozhovorů s výchovnými poradci a učiteli, kteří žáky se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami ve střední škole vyučují, a pomocí kazuistik dozvídáme, s jakými druhy speciálních vzdělávacích potřeb se žáci ve střední škole vzdělávají a jaké speciálně-pedagogické metody se při jejich edukaci ve střední škole využívají.Bachelor thesis Education of pupils with special educational needs in secondary school aims to characterise the education of pupils with special educational needs in secondary school and to determine the types of special educational needs of pupils in the secondary school education, whether and possibly what special pedagogical methods are used in the education of pupils with special educational needs in the secondary school. The work consists of two main parts. In the theoretical part the basic terms are explained and the present situation and education of pupils with special educational needs in secondary schools  are characterized. It describes the frame of legal protection of education of pupils with special educational needs and providing counselling services, furthermore supportive measures as well as special pedagogical methods are explained and specified. In the empirical part based on structured conversations with educational advisors and teachers who teach pupils with special educational needs in secondary school and through case reports we learn about types of special educational needs of pupils in secondary school education and special pedagogical methods used in their education in secondary school
