Sistemin bileşenlerindeki visko-elastisitenin ve tabaka kalınlıklarının bu davranışa etkisi incelenmiştir. Visko-elastik ortamlarda dalga yayılımının kesin denklemleri çerçevesinde uygun problemin matematiksel formülasyonu yapılmış ve elde edilen sınır değer probleminin çözümü integral Fourier dönüşümü uygulanarak bulunmuştur. Araştırma parçalı homojen cisim modeli çerçevesinde yapılmıştır. Visko-elastik örtü tabakası ve visko-elastik yarı-düzlem durumuna ait uygun problemin incelenmesi [1] de ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada malzeme parametrelerinin ve levha kalınlıklarının kritik hıza ve gerilme yayılımına etkisine ait sayısal sonuçlar elde edilmiştir.This paper investigates the dynamic response to a time-harmonic moving load of a system comprising visco-elastic covering layer and a visco-elastic layer on a rigid foundation. The effects of the viscoelasticity of the materials and the plate thickness on the dynamic response of system are investigated. Mathematical formulation of the sought problem is performed within the framework of the equation of wave-propagation on visco-elastic spaces and the solution of the obtained boundary value problem is found by applying Fourier transformation. The research is performed within the scope of the piecewise-homogeneous body model. The investigation of the appropriate problem for visco-elastic covering layer and visco-elastic half plane condition is handled in [1]. The effects of material parameters and plate thicknesses on numerical results related to critical velocity and stress distribution are presented

    In order for an country to develop, society needs individuals with critical thinking skills, decision-making skills, ability to demonstrate their own criteria, and high levels of reasoning ability. Sociological issues have led students to think, criticize and express their ideas. The purpose of the this study is effects of discussion the socio-scientific subject in the newspaper based on argumentation 7. Grades students critical thinking. 50 students participate in this study, 25 of them are the experiment and 25 of them are control group. In control group lessons processing with the methods and techniques of inquiry-based research approach those of the programme suggest. In the experiment group lessons performed with the methods and techniques which the programme suggest and also performed with discussion activities of socio-scientific subjects in the newspaper reports based on argumentation. Lessons were conducted by researchers during 7 weeks. Data of search was collected by the Critical Thinking Skills Test which was developed by Demir. It was concluded that discuss the socio-scientific subject in the newspaper based on argumentation more effective than based on research questioning teaching to develop students critical thinking. ÖzetBir ülkenin gelişebilmesi için toplumun eleştirel düşünebilen, karar verme becerilerine sahip, kendi ölçütlerini ortaya koyabilen, muhakeme becerileri yüksek bireylere ihtiyacı vardır.  Sosyobilimsel konular öğrencileri düşünmeye, eleştirmeye, fikirlerini ifade etmeye yöneltmenin yollarından biridir. Bu çalışmanın amacı gazete haberlerindeki sosyobilimsel konuların argümantasyon yöntemiyle tartışılmasının 7.sınıf öğrencilerinin eleştirel düşünme becerilerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada yarı deneysel araştırma modellerinden ön test- son test kontrol gruplu model kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılında öğrenim gören 25’i deney, 25’i kontrol grubu olmak üzere 50 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır.  Kontrol grubunda dersler programın önerdiği gibi araştırma sorgulamaya dayalı yaklaşım yöntem ve teknikleriyle işlenirken deney grubunda programın önerdiği yöntem ve tekniklerin yanında sosyobilimsel konular içerikli gazete haberlerinden oluşan argümantasyona dayalı etkinlikler kullanılmıştır. Dersler 7 hafta süresince araştırmacı tarafından yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın verileri Demir (2006) tarafından geliştirilen Eleştirel Düşünme Beceri Testi ile toplanmıştır. Sosyobilimsel konuların gazete haberleri kullanılarak argümantasyon yöntemiyle tartışılmasının öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme becerilerinin gelişiminde mevcut programdaki etkinliklere göre daha etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır

    A new curve fitting based rating prediction algorithm for recommender systems

    summary:The most algorithms for Recommender Systems (RSs) are based on a Collaborative Filtering (CF) approach, in particular on the Probabilistic Matrix Factorization (PMF) method. It is known that the PMF method is quite successful for the rating prediction. In this study, we consider the problem of rating prediction in RSs. We propose a new algorithm which is also in the CF framework; however, it is completely different from the PMF-based algorithms. There are studies in the literature that can increase the accuracy of rating prediction by using additional information. However, we seek the answer to the question that if the input data does not contain additional information, how we can increase the accuracy of rating prediction. In the proposed algorithm, we construct a curve (a low-degree polynomial) for each user using the sparse input data and by this curve, we predict the unknown ratings of items. The proposed algorithm is easy to implement. The main advantage of the algorithm is that the running time is polynomial, namely it is θ(n2)\theta(n^2), for sparse matrices. Moreover, in the experiments we get slightly more accurate results compared to the known rating prediction algorithms

    The Effect of Uric Acid Levels on Bone Metabolism in Postmenopausal Women

    Objective:The decrease in estrogen levels leads to oxidative stress by accumulating reactive oxygen species in the cell and suppressing the antioxidant defense system. Thus, the activity of osteoclasts and bone resorption are stimulated. It is stated that uric acid may contribute to the bone mineral density (BMD) due to antioxidant specialty. In our study; we investigated the relationship among serum uric acid levels, BMD and other bone metabolic markers in women with the postmenopausal period. Materials and Methods: BMD and laboratory data (glucose, urea, creatinine, calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase, uric acid, parathyroid hormone, and 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 levels) of 141 postmenopausal women aged between 50 and 69 were evaluated. The participants were divided into three groups according to the t-score. These were; the patients with t-score -1 were normal BMD group. Biochemical tests were measured by photometric method and hormone tests were measured by electrochemiluminescence method. Results:Uric acid levels were significantly higher in the osteopenia group than the normal BMD group (p=0.023). There was no statistically significant difference in uric acid levels between the osteoporosis-steopenia and the osteoporosis-normal BMD groups. No correlation was found between uric acid levels and BMD in all groups. While there was a negative correlation in uric acid levels between the postmenopausal osteopenia and the normal BMD groups (r=-0.423, p=0.016), there was no a significant difference between the osteoporosis and the normal BMD groups (p>0.05). Conclusion:As a result of our study, it is difficult to mention a clear relationship between uric acid and lumbar BMD in postmenopausal women. We believe that further studies are needed for solving the uric acid riddle and explaining the effect on bone metabolism. In addition, uric acid levels in patients with postmenopausal osteopenia should be examined in detail

    Serum Ischaemia-modified albumin concentration in hyperemesis gravidarum

    Introduction: The role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of hyperemesis gravidarum (HEG) has been demonstrated in a lot of studies. The present study aimed to compare the ischaemia-modified albumin (IMA) serum levels of patients diagnosed with HEG with healthy pregnant women, and to investigate whether oxidative stress caused increased serum IMA in HEG. Methods: Pregnant women were classified into a group diagnosed with HEG (n=45) and an age- and body mass index-matched control group without HEG (n=45). Serum IMA levels were assessed by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. Results: Serum IMA levels were higher in the HEG group than the control group (HEG: 8.2 +/- 0.2 ng/mL, control: 6.9 +/- 03 ng/mL, p<0.001). Conclusion: We found that HEG was related to increased maternal serum IMA levels. The high levels of IMA in HEG can he considered as a reflection of increased oxidative stress

    Termik santraller Türkiye’de, enerjide dışa bağımlılığın azaltılması, kalkınmanın hızlanması ya da ucuz elektrik üretiminin sağlanması gibi hegemonik söylemlerle toplumda rıza oluşturulmaya çalışılarak yaygınlaştırılmaktadır. Bu gelişme insan sağlığını, çevreyi ve yaşam alanlarını tehdit eden termik santrallere karşı mücadele eden çevre hareketlerinin ortaya çıkmasına yol açmıştır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de enerji ihtiyacının karşılanması, kalkınmanın hızlandırılması ve istihdamın arttırılması söylemleriyle yürütülen neoliberal enerji politikalarına meydan okuyan termik santral karşıtı hareketlerden biri olan ve Çanakkale’nin Yenice ilçesinin Çırpılar Köyü’ne kurulması planlan termik santrale karşı ortaya çıkan “Çırpılar Hareketi” incelenmiştir. Nitel veri toplama ve yapılandırılmamış mülakat yöntemleri kullanılan bu çalışmada, 2-5 Temmuz 2018 tarihleri arasında Kazdağı Doğal ve Kültürel Varlıkları Koruma Derneği, Troya Çevre Derneği, İda Dayanışma Derneği, Çanakkale Ziraat Odası, TEMA Vakfı üyeleri ile Çanakkale Yenice köylüleri de dâhil olmak üzere toplam 22 kişi ve kurum ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ışığında harekete katılanların amaçları, söylemleri ve eylemleri “insan sağlığı”, “çevre” ve “ekonomik etkinlik” olmak üzere üç tema altında değerlendirilip analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada Gramşiyan bir perspektiften Çırpılar Hareketi’nin hegemonya karşıtı bir hareket olduğu ve bu mücadelenin aydınlar tarafından inşa edilen ve dillendirilen söylemlerle yürütüldüğü iddia edilmiştir

    Comparing two risk scores for predictive ability of contrast-induced nephropathy development in patients presenting with chronic coronary syndrome

    Introduction: This study aimed to investigate the roles of ATRIA and CHA2DS2-VASc scores in predicting contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) development risk in patients presenting with chronic coronary syndromes (CCS) and undergoing elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Material and methods: Patients who underwent coronary angiography due to diagnosis of CCS and decided to be treated with PCI between 2018 and 2020 were included in this retrospective single-centre study. Results: A total of 447 patients were included. DM [p &lt; 0.0001, β: 0.263, OR (95%CI): 0.187–0.459], CHF [p = 0.035, β: 0.384, OR (95%CI): 0.158–0.934], the volume of CA [p = 0.020, β: 0.145, OR (95%CI): 0.112–0.393], ATRIA [p = 0.001, β: 3.453, OR (95%CI): 1.132–6.148] and CHA2DS2-VASc [p &lt; 0.0001, β: 3.120, OR (95%CI): 1.925–5.056] scores were found as independent risk factors associated with CIN development. The AUC for the ATRIA score was 0.779 [%95CI: 0.717–0.842]. A cutoff value of 4.5 for the ATRIA score was associated with 74.1% sensitivity and 67.3% specificity in the prediction of CIN development. Moreover, the AUC for the CHA2DS2-VASc score was 0.869 [%95CI: 0.825–0.912]. A cutoff value of 3.5 for the CHA2DS2-VASc score was associated with 81.5% sensitivity and 76.1% specificity in the prediction of CIN development. Conclusion: ATRIA and CHA2DS2-VASc scores may be used as a marker of CIN development in CCS patientswho underwent elective PCI and both scores may be used to define patients under risk in a practical way
