Dye biosorption from aqueous solutions by fomitopsis pinicola (sw.) p. karst
Methylene Blue adsorption by Fomitopsis pinicola (Sw.) P. Karst. collected from Ki{dotless}zi{dotless}lcahamam Işi{dotless}k Mountain, Ankara (Turkey) was investigated. Different initial dye concentrations, adsorbent doses, initial pH and temperature levels of the adsorption capacity of Fomitopsis pinicola were tested in order to reveal the stability and adsorption capacity of the fungus. The effect of the experimental parameters on the adsorption process was also described. The equilibrium binding was described in terms of Langmuir isotherm depending on the dye concentration. Desorption studies were also conducted. The results obtained from the batch experiments revealed the ability of the fungus to remove methylene blue. Thermodynamic parameters, i.e., Gibbs free energy, enthalpy and entropy changes were also calculated. From the calculated kinetic parameters, it can be concluded that adsorption data were also fitted to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. From the results obtained, it can be suggested that Fomitopsis pinicola can be used as a low-cost biosorbent in wastewater treatments
Malatya Ekolojisinde Farklı Rakımlarda Yetişen Bazı Üzüm Çeşitlerinin Kalite ve Biyokimyasal Özelliklerinin Karşılaştırılması
This study was carried out in 3 different altitude groups (800 m, 1000 m, and 1200 m) under farmer vineyards in Malatya province in 2017 in order to determine the effect of altitude on some quality parameters of grapes. In all of the mentioned altitude groups, 4 table grape, three wine grape, and three raisins grape, a total of 10 grape varieties were evaluated. The pomological and some biochemical properties of the clusters and grains of the related grape varieties were investigated. As a result of the analysis, although it changes according to the grape variety and altitude group average bunch weight 77.6-693.27 g, bunch width-length 6.67-15.70 cm and 9.47-24.97 cm respectively. Grain weight, grain width, and flesh hardness were found to have average values such as 2.19-5.49 g, 12.66-19.66-15.31-29.51 mm, and 1.39-5.22 N, respectively. The pH varied between 3.45 and 4.56 cultivars, and the difference in the Ağın Beyazı cultivar was statistically significant only on the basis of altitude. It has been determined that fruit WSDM (Water Soluble Dry Matter) and TA (Titratable Acid), which are among the biochemical properties values have a positive correlation with the increase in altitude. © 2021, Centenary University. Fabrication of unilateral conductive and transparent polymer thin films decorated with nanomaterials for flexible electrodes
Recently, electrically conductive, flexible, and transparent nanocomposite thin films consisting of nanomaterials on insulating polymer layers are of particular interest to scientific and industrial experts and have promising applications in energy, electronic, and environment areas, due to their remarkable properties. In this study, nanomaterials including silver nanowires, reduced graphene oxide, and carbon nanotubes, and also, conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate were embedded onto insulating polyamide 6-based polymer layer to form unilateral (one-sided) conductive nanocomposite thin film with advanced optical, electrical, and mechanical properties. Spin coating technique was used to fabricate these flexible, conductive, and transparent thin film layers. Thin conductive films decorated with silver nanowires exhibited sufficiently low sheet resistance of 105 ?/sq with a transparency of ~85%. The maximum measured stress and elongation was obtained as 2.24 N/mm2 and 12.5%, respectively. POLYM.
