Molla Mustafa Barzani in the USA 1975–1979

    No full text
The article presents the result of a research on the final years of Mulla Mustafa Barzani on the basis of US intelligence reports concluded in the late 1970s and declassified in 2006, as well as memoirs and articles by U.S. foreign officers. The author focuses on the documents prepared by the CIA in relation with the travel of Barzani to the U.S. for medical treatment. The selected material concerns issues such as: U.S. support for the last Kurdish uprising headed by Mustafa Barzani and its nature, Barzani’s request from the U.S. after the Algiers Accord of 1975, behind-the-curtain negotiations regarding Barzani’s travel to the U.S., and the restrictions imposed on him during his stay. The author also considers the possibilities connected with the phrase “requested asylum” used for Barzani’s application to travel to the U.S.: from misinformation on the part of CIA officer, actually seeking refuge, to a political move aimed at enlisting U.S. support for the Kurdish cause. The author encourages the readers to form their own opinions on the presented matter. However, one indisputable fact remains – the U.S. has always been very much interested in Kurdish nationalism and the Kurds were a significant subject in the Cold War years.Full text: http://bazhum.muzhp.pl/czasopismo/589/?idno=1476

In this study, a new single crystal was formed which was reacted with 2,2'-Bipyridyl (C10H8N2) ligand to bind ZnCl2 compound. New metal content (Zn-Zinc) synthesized single crystal grown this crystal diffraction intensity data were collected by a single crystal diffract meter with our university and resolved diffraction intensity data collected SHELXS-97 and SHELXL-97 computer programs and purified. The structural properties such as cell parameters bond lengths and bond angels have been investigated

The timing database: An open-access, live repository for interval timing studies

    Get PDF
International audienceInterval timing refers to the ability to perceive and remember intervals in the seconds to minutes range. Our contemporary understanding of interval timing is derived from relatively small-scale, isolated studies that investigate a limited range of intervals with a small sample size, usually based on a single task. Consequently, the conclusions drawn from individual studies are not readily generalizable to other tasks, conditions, and task parameters. The current paper presents a live database that presents raw data from interval timing studies (currently composed of 68 datasets from eight different tasks incorporating various interval and temporal order judgments) with an online graphical user interface to easily select, compile, and download the data organized in a standard format. The Timing Database aims to promote and cultivate key and novel analyses of our timing ability by making published and future datasets accessible as open-source resources for the entire research community. In the current paper, we showcase the use of the database by testing various core ideas based on data compiled across studies (i.e., temporal accuracy, scalar property, location of the point of subjective equality, malleability of timing precision). The Timing Database will serve as the repository for interval timing studies through the submission of new datasets
