    MEDIATION ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL JUSTICE PERCEPTION OF ADMINISTRATORS’ POLITICAL AND PATERNALISTIC LEADERSHIP BEHAVIORS ON CONFLICT RESOLUTION BEHAVIORS

    The purpose of this study was to examine the mediation role of organizational justice perception of administrators’ political and paternalistic leadership behaviors on conflict resolution behaviors. The study was conducted with 330 high school teachers working in the central district area in Elazığ. Percentage, frequency, arithmetical mean, correlation analysis and hierarchal regression analysis was used in analyzing the data. According to the correlation analysis results, there are positive and significant relationships between administrators’’ paternalistic leadership behaviors and organizational justice perceptions and between political leadership behaviors and conflict resolution behaviors. It was observed that there are negative and low level significant relationships between paternalistic leadership and political leadership behaviors, paternalistic leadership behaviors and conflict resolution behaviors, political leadership behaviors and organizational justice. According to the hierarchal regression analysis results, organizational justice perception has a partly mediation role on administrators’ political and paternalistic behaviors over conflict resolution behaviors.  Article visualizations

    THE EFFECTS OF SOCIAL CAPITAL ELEMENTS ON JOB SATISFACTION AND MOTIVATION LEVELS OF TEACHERS

    The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social capital elements’ on job satisfaction and motivation levels of teachers. The mixed method was used in the study. The quantitative data were analyzed through Correlation and Multiple Regression analyses. An interview form developed by the researchers was used for analyzing the qualitative data. According to the correlation analysis, there is a positive and high level of relationship between social capital and job motivation. According to the regression analysis results, the three sub dimensions of social capital are significant predictors of job motivation levels of teachers; the other finding suggests that only the communication-social interaction sub-dimension is a significant predictor of teachers’ job satisfaction levels

Katılımcılar ile öngörüşmeler yapılarak, görüşlerini belirtmekten kaçınmayacaklarını belirten 40öğretmen çalışma grubuna dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma verileri, yarıyapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerinanalizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, öğretmenleröğretmenlik mesleği imajını genel olarak olumsuz gördüklerini ve meslekiimajlarının geçmişe oranla daha kötü durumda olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Meslekiimajlarına katkıda bulunmak için öğretmenlerin yapması gerekenlerde, en fazlakendini geliştirme-yenileme ifadesi; MEB ve siyasilerin yapması gerekenlerdeise, ekonomik şartlar iyileştirilmeli ve öğretmenlere saygı gösterilmeli-değerverilmeli ifadeleri ön plana çıkmıştır.

    Metaphorical perceptions of teachers towards school, school manager and student’s parents

    Bu araştırmanın amacı; öğretmenlerin okul, okul yöneticisi ve öğrenci velisi kavramlarına ilişkin algılarını metaforlar aracılığıyla belirlemektir. Okul, okul yöneticisi ve öğrenci velisi kavramlarının iç içe geçmiş ve birbiriyle ilişkili oldukları düşüncesinden hareketle her bir kavram için üretilen mecazlar yoluyla bütüncül değerlendirmeler yapmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemleri arasında yer alan olgu bilim (fenomenoloji) deseninde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Elazığ İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı ilkokul, ortaokul ve liselerde görev yapan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Tamamıyla ön görüşmeler yapılarak, görüşlerini belirtmekten kaçınmayacaklarını belirten 40 öğretmen çalışma grubuna dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma verileri, çalışma grubundan “Okul …gibidir. Çünkü…”, “Okul yöneticisi …gibidir. Çünkü…” ve “Öğrenci velisi …gibidir. Çünkü…” şeklinde verilen cümlelerdeki boş bırakılan yerleri tamamlamaları ile elde edilmiştir. Veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin metafor ifadeleri temalara ayrıldığında, okul kavramı ile ilgili yaşam alanı olarak okul; okul yöneticisi kavramı ile ilgili lider olarak okul yöneticisi ve öğrenci velisi kavramı ile ilgili ana unsur olarak öğrenci velisi algısının yüksek olduğu görülmektedir.The purpose of this study is to determine teachers’ perceptions regarding the concepts of school, school manager and student’s parents by means of metaphors. The study also aims to make holistic evaluations through the metaphors produced for each concept, with the idea that school, school manager and student-parents concepts are intertwined and interrelated. This research was carried out in a phenomenological pattern which is one of the qualitative research methods. The study group was composed of primary, secondary and high school teachers affiliated to Elazığ Provincial National Education Directorate in the academic year of 2017-2018. In the research 40 teachers were reached with the method of random sampling. The research data was obtained from the study group by completing the blanks in the sentences given in the form of "School is like…. Because ... ", "School manager is like…... Because ... " and "Student’s parents are like ... Because ... " The data were analyzed by content analysis method. When the metaphorical expressions of the teachers were divided into the themes, the study indicated that the perceptions regarding school as a living space related to the school concept; school manager as a leader related to the concept of the school manager and student’s parents as a main component related to student’s parents was high

    The Development and Evolution of Digital Leadership: A Bibliometric Mapping Approach-Based Study

    The inevitable digitalization of workplaces in the present era, generally as a result of technological developments, has caused a paradigm shift, along with new innovative business models and business behaviors, which has required leaders to possess certain digital skills for sustainable corporate performance. Hence, studies on digital leadership have attracted the attention of academics and practitioners worldwide, with many studies having been conducted on the topic. However, a comprehensive analysis of the intellectual architecture, knowledge structure, and thematic evolution of the digital leadership field of research using science mapping tools has yet to be conducted. The current study, therefore, aimed at reviewing the intellectual structure and evolution of the digital leadership field through a bibliometric and science-mapping analysis. This study used digital leadership as an umbrella term comprising leadership styles such as e-leadership, virtual leadership, technology leadership, and leadership 4.0, which have similar meanings and can be used interchangeably. With this purpose, bibliometric performance and science mapping analysis was performed on articles related to the research field that were retrieved from the Scopus database using SciMAT software (version 1.1.04). The results of the study revealed that the scope of digital leadership research is gradually expanding and diversifying and that publication output is increasing steadily. In addition, period-based analysis showed that the technology management theme during the first period, the virtual teams and technology themes during the second period, and the COVID-19, virtual reality, and digital technologies themes during the third period emerged as the motor themes and formed the focus of research in this field. Thematic evolution analysis showed that virtual leadership during the first and second periods, virtual teams during the second period, e-leadership and technology during the second and third periods, and digital leadership, COVID-19, and virtual reality during the third period, along with technology leadership in all three periods were all noteworthy as well-developed research themes. These findings enable a better understanding of the research field of digital leadership and provide a reference for future research by revealing the conceptual structure and thematic evolution of the digital leadership knowledge base

    Organizational Trust Levels of Elementary Teachers: A Qualitative Study

    Today, the main feature of a well-functioning organization is trust in the organization. In the research, it is researched which conceptions are needed to ensue organizational trust by the teachers who work in the primary schools and that the effects of the factors of organizational trust formation on the organizational atmosphere. The research is designed qualitatively. The study group of the research consists of 50 teachers working in Elazığ and the centrum of the city boundries. The interview form was prepared by studying on the subject of the research. The validity of the interview forms, content and appearance are provided thanks to be taken the expert opinions of faculty members (n=3). The interview forms are used as a unique data source. In the research , it is evaluated how organizational trust affects on the importantresults in terms of the organization such as organizational commitment, organizational burnout, organizational citizenship, organizational cynicism, identification with the organization, productivity according to the perception of the teachers.     Resumen basado en el de la publicaciónMonográfico con el título Filosofía de la educación y acción pedagógicaSe intenta determinar el grado de liderazgo ético del comportamiento de los administradores escolares según las opiniones de los docentes. Como investigación cuantitativa, este estudio se llevó a cabo en el año académico 2010-2011 con 371 docentes que trabajaban en escuelas primarias. Se utilizó el Cuestionario de Liderazgo Ético desarrollado por Langlois (2007). Los hallazgos del estudio revelan que a medida que aumenta la antigüedad, más profesores piensan que los administradores actúan dentro de los estándares éticos. Opiniones de los docentes sobre los administradores escolares afirman que las conductas de liderazgo ético no se diferencian según la variable de género de los docentes. Sin embargo, en términos de variable de rama, se observa una diferencia significativa en las opiniones de los docentes acerca de las conductas de liderazgo ético de sus administradores escolares cuando se enfrentaron a un problema ético. Las opiniones de los profesores de clase son más positivas que las opiniones de los maestros de sucursal con respecto a comportamientos éticos de liderazgo de los administradores. Los resultados indican que los maestros piensan que su escuela los administradores a menudo se enfrentan a un dilema ético al decidir sobre cuestiones de personal. Este estudio concluye que el establecimiento de códigos de ética escritos para los administradores escolares puede ayudarlos a tomar decisiones con integridad, imparcialidad y de una manera más ética, especialmente sobre cuestiones de personal.ES
