Single Production of Fourth Family Sneutrino via RPV Couplings at Linear Colliders
The single production of fourth family sneutrino via
R-parity violating interactions in electron-positron collisions has been
investigated. We study the decays of into different flavor
dilepton via R-parity violation. It is shown that R-parity
violating couplings down to 0.001 will be
reachable at future linear colliders which would provide better accuracy
comparing to the indirect measurements as complementary to the LHC results.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
Stacked Convolutional and Recurrent Neural Networks for Bird Audio Detection
This paper studies the detection of bird calls in audio segments using
stacked convolutional and recurrent neural networks. Data augmentation by
blocks mixing and domain adaptation using a novel method of test mixing are
proposed and evaluated in regard to making the method robust to unseen data.
The contributions of two kinds of acoustic features (dominant frequency and log
mel-band energy) and their combinations are studied in the context of bird
audio detection. Our best achieved AUC measure on five cross-validations of the
development data is 95.5% and 88.1% on the unseen evaluation data.Comment: Accepted for European Signal Processing Conference 201
Application of Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods on Six Sigma Projects Selection
Abstract. Six sigma method widely applied in production and service businesses is known as a project-oriented method. In six sigma method, selection of the prior project among others can be considered as a multi -criteria decision making problem. The conducted literature review has revealed that there is a large number of methods to select six sigma projects. It is more appropriate to use fuzzy multi-criteria decision making methods in project selection since evaluation criteria of six sigma projects include uncertainties. The aim of this study is to select the most appropriate project as a result of evaluating the projects by Fuzzy VIKOR, Fuzzy TOPSIS and Fuzzy COPRAS as methods of fuzzy multicriteria decision-making and integrating the ranking scores obtained from each method by Copeland method. The proposed method has been implemented in a large scale production company, operating in Aydın ASTİM Organized Industrial Zone.Keywords. A Brief Gramscian Analysis of the First Five Years of the AKP: How the Organic Intellectuals of Turkey Helped Cement the Power of ErdoÄŸan and his Party
In this paper, I will try to underline the role of intellectuals in Turkey during President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s first five years as Prime Minister in establishing his hegemony. The analysis will be conducted using a Gramscian approach. I will begin the paper by presenting the framework. I will give a brief definition of the concepts called organic intellectuals and historical bloc, coined by the Italian Marxist theorist Antonio Gramsci. Following the theoretical introduction, I will give empirical evidence, using excerpts from articles and interviews of three prominent intellectuals2 who are known as the Birikim troika in the Turkish academic and journalistic sphere. It is worth noting that two out of the three writers included in the paper were well-known full professors of economics and comparative literature in Galatasaray University and Istanbul Bilgi University, respectively
Water holding properties and soil water types in fine textured Vertisol soils of Thrace region in Turkey
The study was carried out on 16 selected model soil profiles, located on lands covered with soils exhibiting vertic properties in Thrace Region of Turkey. Different horizons and/or sub-horizons of 16 characteristic soil profiles were evaluated in field or laboratory conditions in terms of water holding capacity and water types properties. Total of 105 soil samples were analyzed for routine physical characteristics. Soil water holding capacity was determined applying negative potentials (Ψ) of -0.33 bar, -15.5 bar and -31.5 bar (pF 2.54; 4.2 and 4.5), using a pressure-membrane extraction apparatus. In addition to gravitational, available, unavailable and hygroscopic soil water types, the soil samples were investigated also in terms of crystal-lattice water content. The highest amounts of the listed water types were determined in soils of Büyük Mandira, Türkgeldi and Seymen containing the highest rates of smectite clay mineral. The mass percentage (Pw) rates of the mentioned water types of the investigated profies varied in the ranges of 29.1–66.3%, 10–2.15%, 22.0–32.4%, 6.0–9.0% and 5.6–8.6%, respectively. Though the mass percentages of enumerated water types in the soils of Osmanli and Yeni Mahalle, all owning high sand and lower clay content on the other hand, are between 28.9–40.6%, 6.1–15.5%, 7.4–16.8%, 2.4–4.8% and 1.7–4.4%, respectively

Hadron electron Collider (LHeC).We have analyzed the background and the signal
processes for the mass range 300-800 GeV. We find the discovery region for an

Crafting symbolic geographies in modern Turkey
Place is a social site of meaning and memory. The critical appreciation of place and its link to power in toponymic studies involve the identity politics of place naming. This paper discusses the relationship between the naming of places and identity construction in Turkey. First, conceptualized as a hegemonic practice, the Turkification of toponyms in the Kurdish region of the country is argued to be part of a broader system of assimilation. Supported by the imposition of particular ethno- nationalist narratives on the past, and conducted with concomitant processes of linguistic and demographic design, top-down and centralized engineering of the country’s toponymic order has two sides; the construction of symbolic Turkish spaces and the cultural erosion of Kurdishness. Later, the research examines the act of naming places as a Kurdish strategy of resistance and a cultural right. As an attempt to remove spatial and linguistic injustice, Kurdish toponymic practices aim at re-asserting the ‘self’ and reclaiming memory, space and identity through the re-introduction of former place names or new alternatives that are conducive to the reparation of the Kurdish identity. The discursive and material struggle over space and the clash between the Turkish and Kurdish discourses on naming places reflect the overall structure of social and political power relations in Turkey
