Settling for Less
The resettlement of the Negev Bedouin (Israel) has been wrought with controversy since its inception in the 1960s. Presenting evidence from a two-decade period, the author addresses how the changes that took place over the past sixty to seventy years have served the needs and interests of the State rather than those of Bedouin community at large. While town living fostered improvements in social and economic development, numerous unintended consequences jeopardized the success of this planning initiative. As a result, the Bedouin community endured excessive hardship and rapid change, abandoning its nomadic lifestyle and traditions in response to the economic, political, and social pressure from the State—and received very little in return

"The Lord Will Provide": The History and Role of Episcopalian Christianity in Nets'aii Gwich'in Social Development--Arctic Village, Alaska
This paper addresses the history and development of Episcopalianism in the Nets'aii Gwich'in community of Arctic Village, Alaska. It is argued that Christianity in the village well represents communal resistance to colonial domination, as well as the ability to blend past and present traditions. This development is due largely to the role played by the Gwich'in Reverend Albert E. Tritt, whose efforts, including his building of the community's first church, were central to the community's embracing of Christianity. The paper concludes with a discussion of Gwich'in Episcopalianism in the twenty-first century, and its role in the battle against oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
Cyberincivility among Filipino Nursing Students in a public university: knowledge, experience, and acceptability
Introduction: The pandemic rapidly shifted nursing education to the online platform, and cybercommunication may expose students to the risk of online uncivil behaviors. Understanding cyberincivility in the primary mode of education during the pandemic is necessary. This study determined the cyberincivility knowledge, experience, and perception of acceptability among nursing students in the Philippines.
Methods: A cross-sectional research design was employed with 300 Filipino nursing students of a public university who participated in the survey conducted last June 2021 using the Academic Cyberincivility Assessment Questionnaire. Data were described, and statistical differences and relationships were tested using ANOVA, t-Test, and Pearson correlation.
Results: Findings indicated that nursing students generally had high knowledge (M=11.53), low experience (M=1.67), and low acceptability (M=1.41) of online uncivil behaviors. Academic cyberincivility knowledge, experiences, and acceptability did not significantly vary (p>0.05) based on sex, year level, and duration of daily internet usage. There was a significant positive moderate correlation (r=.402, p=.000) between cyberincivility experience and acceptability.
Conclusions: Nursing schools should continuously strive to avoid the risk of uncivil cyberspace behaviors and promote an online culture of civility in online learning spaces
The transaction costs in biotechnology
This paper aims to relate the principles of Ronald Coase Theorem with negative impacts of biotechnology, taking cases of specific research groups and medium-sized companies in biotechnology. We consider an application of economic theory on transaction costs (TTC) provides a good foundation for understanding the underlying problems of this sector, even more, when analyzing the political economy of biotechnology since the transaction costs can best viewed their limitations and the limited scope of government policy. In biotechnology it is possible to get a policy that combines both equity and efficiency, that is, a wider range of policy applications to improve the living standards of people in Colombia
