Akomodasi Komunikasi Dalam Interaksi Budaya Pada Mahasiswa Rantau Asal Kalimantan Barat Yang Berkuliah Di Surakarta

Intercultural communication problems are usually caused by the lack of people's ability to interpret cultural diversity in the form of stereotypes about one culture with another, as well as West Kalimantan students who are studying in the city of Solo, Central Java. When they interact with the local people of Solo, they will initially have difficulty communicating with the people in the city of Solo, more Javanese in daily conversation, new students are certainly not yet mature in preparing themselves to adjust, modify and even regulate behavior when dealing with other people who have language and cultural differences. Unconsciously, communication will usually be done where in the process is the use of internal cognitive scripts to be used when talking to other people who have cultural differences. The purpose of this study was to see how the communication accommodation process for overseas students from West Kalimantan studying in Surakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research is that West Kalimantan students initially have information related to the language that will be used in life, the views / perspectives of the language that will be used in communication. Accommodations made by West Kalimantan students in this case include the flight approach and setting of communication which they use as a form of solution to find ways to communicate to achieve certain goals

Representasi Pengelolaan Konflik Orang Tua Dan Anak Dalam Film "Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini"

The movie “Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini” (2020) is an Indonesian movie that tells about conflicts among family members that commonly occur in every family in a society. A harmonious family can be described as a family which are dreamt by all people. However, there are conflicts that inevitably occur in every family. Each family has its own conflict. The purpose of this research is to find out how people manage conflicts that occur among them. The conflict mostly involves parents and their children. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This research uses the semiotic theory by Roland Barthes. Data sampling technique is done by observing the research subject as well as taking certain pictures of the movie scenes. The sample in the research uses purposive sampling. The research object is the movie “Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini”. The result of the research indicates that the parents’ overprotective attitude toward their children can create various kinds of conflicts among parents and children

This study aims to describe the format and social context of the presentation of the Nussa YouTube Cartoon Series. The research method used the content analysis of the Nussa Official YouTube cartoon series. The research methode used qualitative media content analysis (ethnographic content analysis). The sampling technique used by sampling units. The primary data were video documents. Animated film Nussa and Rara in mp4 format and downloaded via the website www.youtube.com. Data analysis with Ethnographic Content Analysis (ECA) through a combination of objective analysis methods with participant observation. ”The results showed that: 1) The format for presenting the Nussa YouTube cartoon series in every episode. 2) Social context or situation, namely Islamic values contained in the Nussa animated series on three main aspects, namely the value of faith, moral values and syari'ah values

The basic principle of the American Dream as an opportunity for every individual to generate wealth and start a new beginning is widely discussed in a film. American Dream in Minari departs from the struggles of Asian immigrant families in achieving the standard of success in America. The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning and value of family struggles concerning the process of achieving the American Dream in the scene contained in one of the drama films from the Unites States entitled Minari as a representation of human life. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach that is interpretive. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, documentation and literature study of each scene/ shot from the film Minari. The data validity technique in this study is in the form of data triangulation. In determining the theory and analysis techniques used critical paradigm. The data analysis technique used is the semiotic analysis of Charles Sanders Pierce. The results of this study will show how immigrants from the point of view of Asian families struggle for their lives in the United States

Song is a mass communication medium that is formed from the relationship between music and poetry or lyrics. Basically, the song is the same as poetry, but the difference is in the way it is delivered, where the song is sung. Song as a universal and effective medium to channel the poet's messages, ideas, and expressions to listeners through the lyrics, tone, and manner of the musicians. The lyrics have an implied meaning in each sentence structure. These meanings can build cognition and create a good discourse relating to someone, something or events around them. The purpose of this study was to determine the critical meaning of the ideals contained in the lyrics of the song Chase Dreams. This research reveals that there is a meaning of ideals in the lyrics of the song Chase Dreams. The object of this research is the meaning of the lyrics of the song Chase Dream related to ideals. Strategi Komunikasi Pemasaran Terpadu Kampung Susu Lawu Dalam Menjual Produk Susu Sapi Perah

Integrated marketing communication strategy is a strategy used by a company to build the implementation of brand communication with consumers. This strategy can help how a product offered is different from its competitors' products, one of which is through the Promotion Mix strategy. This study aims to determine the integrated marketing communication strategy carried out by Kampung Susu Lawu in selling its products. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were in-depth interviews through purposive sampling techniques, participant observation, as members of the Kampung Susu Lawu organization who participated in the production process as well as marketing and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Kampung Susu Lawu applies elements of the Promotion Mix strategy, namely advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing, public relations and personal selling. This marketing communication strategy is carried out in two systems, namely online such as through social media and offline through print media. These strategies have different targets in their marketing activities. Promotion Mix is carried out in order to support the success of Kampung Susu Lawu in increasing sales of dairy cow's milk products

Poverty is an important issue that appears in various media, one of them is through a music videos. Aside from being a marketing medium, music videos can play a role in shaping a reflection of the reality of poverty in society through representative lyrics and image cutouts. In Indonesia, the highest poverty occurs on the island of Java and experiences problems in poverty alleviation. This problem can occur due to several factors, one of which is the culture that exists in the community itself. This study aims to describe how poverty and Javanese culture are related in music videos through critical discourse analysis. The dispositive concept of S. Jager and F. Maier's discourse is used to reveal the reflection of the reality of poverty that occurs through discursive analysis, non-discursive analysis, and the materialization of discourse. The theory used in this research are Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and Oscar Lewis’s Culture of Poverty. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling technique and five selected music videos as the unit of analysis. Data collection techniques were carried out using internet documentation and supported by a literature review. The results of the study show that the poverty that occurs in the Javanese society occurs structurally due to uneven development, employement, health services, especially in vilages and culturally due to the lazy nature of society which causes poverty

This study aims to find out how to reveal oneself in interpersonal communication between children and parents in long-distance relationships. This research is included in the type of qualitative research. The research subjects were students of communication science at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The sample in this study amounted to six students. This study used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interview techniques. In terms of the validity of the data, the researcher validates the data using the source triangulation technique. The results of this research are that students who are active in organizations are open to their parents regarding activities and problems in the organizations they participate in. The media used for long distance communication between children and parents is the WhatsApp application using chat, voice call, video call and voice note features

Integrasi Budaya pada Masyarakat Etnis Batak ke Jawa di Perum Citra Jaya Wonogiri

With the cultural differences between the Javanese and Batak ethnic groups, Perum Citra Jaya is able to create a high level of tolerance so as to prevent conflicts between ethnic groups. This study aims to determine cultural acculturation that occurs by analyzing how integration is formed in the Batak and Javanese ethnicities in the Perum Citra Jaya environment. This research use descriptive qualitative method. The theory used in this study is the theory of cultural acculturation by Berry and social integration theory by Talcott Parson. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling with four research subject who were Javanese and Batak residents at Perum Citra Jaya. Data collection is done by observation and interviews. The result of this study are that cultural acculutration that occurs in Javanese and Batak communitiea at Perum Citra Jaya occurs with social integration where intercultural communication becomes an important part of disclosing differenves and background between ethnicities with a multiculturalism method, each of which of these individuals retain their culture while interacting with other cultures. Thic multiculturalism can be seen from the good communication that exists between Javanese and Batak people and the social activities that are often carried out together

Adaptasi Budaya Oleh Mahasiswa Pendatang Di Fakultas Komunikasi Dan Informatika UMS

Cultural differences are something that is often found by migrant students when migrating to other regions, not infrequently these cultural differences cause obstacles that make it difficult for them to adapt to a new environment, as felt by students from Lampung when migrating to Surakarta City to continue their education. This study aims to determine the communication accommodation strategy applied by migrant students from Lampung at the Faculty of Communication and Informatics in adapting to their new environment. The method used in this study is qualitative. Purposive random sampling chosen as a sampling technique in this study, and the data collection technique carried out by in-depth interviews with six informants who had met the research criteria. The results showed that in the process of adapting to a new environment, students from Lampung found cultural differences including language, accent, or style of speech, to stereotypes or negative stigma related to their home region. In accommodating a new environment, students from Lampung use more convergence strategies than divergence. By implementing convergence strategies, students from Lampung get a more po.sitive response from the surrounding community
