High accuracy synchrotron radiation interferometry with relativistic electrons

A high-precision hypernuclear experiment has been performed at the Mainz Microtron (MAMI) to determine the hypertriton {\Lambda} binding energy via decay-pion spectroscopy. A key element of this measurement is an accurate calibration of the magnetic spectrometers with the MAMI beam. For such an absolute calibration with small statistical and systematic uncertainties the undulator light interference method will be applied. In this contribution the basic principle of this method is discussed and the analysis status of the measured synchrotron radiation spectra is presentedComment: The 13th Biennial Conference on Classical and Quantum Relativistic Dynamics of Particles and Fields (IARD22

Measuring the Cosmic X-ray Background accurately

Synthesis models of the diffuse Cosmic X-ray Background (CXB) suggest that it can be resolved into discrete sources, primarily Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs). Measuring the CXB accurately offers a unique probe to study the AGN population in the nearby Universe. Current hard X-ray instruments suffer from the time-dependent background and cross-calibration issues. As a result, their measurements of the CXB normalization have an uncertainty of the order of \sim15%. In this paper, we present the concept and simulated performances of a CXB detector, which could be operated on different platforms. With a 16-U CubeSat mission running for more than two years in space, such a detector could measure the CXB normalization with \sim1% uncertainty

Search for effective Lorentz and CPT violation using ZEUS data

Lorentz and CPT symmetry in the quark sector of the Standard Model are studied in the context of an effective field theory using ZEUS e±p data. Symmetry-violating effects can lead to time-dependent oscillations of otherwise time-independent observables, including scattering cross sections. An analysis using five years of inclusive neutral-current deep inelastic scattering events corresponding to an integrated HERA luminosity of 372 pb-1 at s=318 GeV has been performed. No evidence for oscillations in sidereal time has been observed within statistical and systematic uncertainties. Constraints, most for the first time, are placed on 42 coefficients parametrizing dominant CPT-even dimension-four and CPT-odd dimension-five spin-independent modifications to the propagation and interaction of light quarks

The POLAR gamma-ray burst polarization catalog

Context. Despite over 50 years of research, many open questions remain about the origin and nature of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). Linear polarization measurements of the prompt emission of these extreme phenomena have long been thought to be key to answering a range of these questions. The POLAR detector was designed to produce the first set of detailed and reliable linear polarization measurements in the 50 − 500 keV energy range. During late 2016 and early 2017, POLAR detected a total of 55 GRBs. The analysis results of 5 of these GRBs have been reported, and were found to be consistent with a low or unpolarized flux. However, previous reports by other collaborations found high levels of linear polarization, including some as high as 90%. Aims. We study the linear polarization for the 14 GRBs observed by POLAR for which statistically robust inferences are possible. Additionally, time-resolved polarization studies are performed on GRBs with sufficient apparent flux. Methods. A publicly available polarization analysis tool, developed within the Multi-Mission Maximum Likelihood framework (3M

This paper shows, by means of a synthetic form, an investigation conducted by the authors about of the most essential of the pedagogical responsability of the most implied teachers of special education in their educational relation with their students with intellectual disability. The 30 teachers who were chosen to take part in such research were both from Catalonia and from Chile. The methodology used in this investigation has been little applied –until our days– in Spain and in Latin America: it is the «phenomenological-hermeneutic method», as it is conceived and applied by the well-known pedagogue, Max van Manen. After the theoretical frame and the description of the applied methodology, instead of the «analyses of results» and of «the conclusions» of a more conventional research, we have shown a selective and significant sample of the phenomenological text, and this one has a mission: to extract to the light the essential findings of the phenomenon studied in this case in an evocative and formative way./n Este articulo muestra, de forma sintética, una investigación realizada por los autores sobre lo más esencial de la responsabilidad pedagógica de los profesores de educación especial implicados en su relación educativa con sus alumnos con discapacidad intelectual.
