Pemanfaatan Alga Coklat Sargassum sp pada Pembuatan Kemasan Air Mineral yang Dapat Dikonsumsi

    Get PDF
Packaged mineral water has become a daily necessity for Indonesians for its practicality. The raw material used in mineral water container is made of plastic because the price is cheaper, and the characteristics of it are strong and lightweight when compared to other polymers. However, the plastic waste produced is difficult to be decomposed by microorganisms in the soil, causing environmental pollution. There have been many researches on the production of environmentally friendly plastic packaging. One of the raw materials used is alginate because it contains ester compounds which are the requirement for making biodegradable plastics. The alginate compound contained in seaweed is a polysaccharide obtained from the extraction of brown seaweed such as Sargassum sp which is found in Indonesian waters. Gel formation can be done by diffusion with the spherification method. This method is the simplest technique, where the gel is formed by diffusion of calcium ions into the alginate solution. The results showed that sodium alginate derived from seaweed can be used as a raw material in the production of mineral water packaging that can be consumed by using the spherification techniques. The packaging product which is shaped like a bubble is safe for consumption and is biodegradable

Every woman faces varies physiological and psychological changes during this "change of life" as a part of hormonal derangement. Now a days women's health is of prime importance to get a healthy society. Woman play different roles in her life and these balances the family and keeps them nested together. It is important that she should remain healthy and proper attention should be paid towards her health. But because of their shyness and hesitation they would not discuss freely about their diseases relating to the exposable parts of the body and thus they get the diseases ultimately more and more complicated.Any deviation from natural process leads to complications like irritation in vagina due to excessive discharge which in turn causes divesting effect on marital harmony. This irritation can  be caused due to infection or pathological manifestation in the vagina. “Shwetpradar” which is identified as white discharge which is commonest in all gynecological disorder’s like vaginitis. Leucorrhoea is a white discharge from the vagina. Normally, vaginal discharge occurs in regular variations of amount and consistency during the course of the menstrual cycle. A greater than usual amount is normal in pregnancy, and  decrease is to be expected after delivery, during lactation, and after menopause. It may be physiological or pathological. Physiological excess of vaginal discharge does not require any treatment. But, the pathological conditions which necessitate treatment are those involving many infections due to Candida, Trichomonas, Gram negative, Gram positive etc. organisms. Whenever women suffer from certain pathological conditions the effective treatment is very essential. It is hoped that the research work in the field of Ayurveda will create much interest in the medical practice and for scientific application and interpretation of Ayurvedic  formulations. Rohitakmul Churna is one above them. For this study we have use Rohitakmul Churna for treating Shweatpradar

The present investigation was carried out to study mutagenic effectiveness and efficiency of gamma rays and EMS treatments in Pigeon pea (Cajanus  cajan (L.) Millsp) Var CO-7. The relative effectiveness and efficiency of the both mutagen used was assessed from the data on biological damage in M1 generation and frequency of chlorophyll and viable mutants in M2 generation. The spectrum of chlorophyll mutants such as xantha, albino, chlorina and viridis, viable mutants like tall, dwarf, early flower, early maturity, late maturity, bushy, high yield and seed mutants were observed in both the mutagenic treatments.  Among the chlorophyll mutants xantha was found more in number. The mutagenic effectiveness and efficiency were found to be higher at 20KR of gamma irradiation and 25mM of EMS. The mutation rate of gamma rays was higher in terms of effectiveness than that of EMS. More number of chlorophyll and viable mutants was induced in gamma rays treatment when compared EMS treatment

    Get PDF
The mutagenic efficiency and effectiveness of fast neutron irradiation on sesame was evaluated at M1 and M2 generations with the aim of deserning its abiity to induce beneficial mutants with improved agronomic traits that could facilitate selection within local genotypes. Five grames (5g) each of sesame seeds were exposed to four concentrations of sodium azide (0.5mM, 1.0mM, 1.5mM and 2.0mM).Untreated sesame seeds (5g) served as control. The treatments were laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Fast neutron significantly (p<0.05) induced benefitial variabilities on the agronomic traits evaluated. Mutation frequency, mutagenic efficiency and lethalithy induced by fast neutron were not dose dependent. However, the mutagenic effectiveness decreased with increasing dose. Seeds exposed to 0.16sv fast neutron dose showed taller seedling height (15.70cm), reduced days to flowering (45.00), best height at maturity (32.43cm), highest survival rate (35.43%), highest number of leaf per plants (12.50), highest internode length (16.50cm) and best dry weight (12.70g). However, sesame mutants had the best number of seeds per plant (4.60) and thousand seed weight (5.00g) at 0.32sv fast neutron dose. Broad sense heritability estimates for the agronomic traits ranged from 5.96% to 89.73%. Days to flowering recorded the highest heritability value of 89.73%. High heritabilities were also recorded for height at maturity (86.71%) and thousand seed weight (80.00%). Variability in phenotypic characters reflected the existence of genetic diversity among the genotypes. Keywords: Mutation, Irradiation, Sesame, Heritability, Trait

Background: The current study aimed to investigate the efficacy of the Ischemia Reversal program (IRP) as an Ayurveda based therapy to standard anti-ischemic therapy in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD). Methods: A retrospective, single centre, observational study was conducted from January 2022 to May 2023. A total of 39 patients diagnosed with ischemic heart disease and global longitudinal strain (GLS) <15, regardless of underlying co-morbidities such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, hyperlipidemia, low ejection fraction, history of myocardial infarction were included in this study. The primary endpoint was improvement in GLS from baseline to the 90-day follow-up in various different categories. Secondary endpoints were improvement in EF, abdominal girth, weight and reduction in dependency on allopathic medication from baseline to the 90-day follow-up. Results: The mean age of the study population was 59.23±9.01 years. Weight (day 1: 67.29±13.16 kg and day 90: 61.39±11.11 kg; p=0.00), body mass index (day 1: 25.75±4.03 and day 90: 23.79±3.50; p=0.00), abdominal girth (day 1: 95.31±10.75 cm and day 90: 85.67±17.02 cm p=0.00), EF (day 1: 40.74±10.30% and day 90: 53.91±11.87%; p=0.00), and GLS (day 1: -10.99±2.72 and day 90: -13.17±3.75; p=0.00) improved at the 90 day follow-up. Conclusions: The study showed notable improvements in weight, body mass index, abdominal girth, EF, and GLS after 90 days. These results suggest that IRP is beneficial treatment for IHD, but more extensive research is needed to confirm its effectiveness

STUDY THE EFFICACY OF KHADIRADI KWATH IN THE MANAGEMENT OF BHAGANDARA W.S.R. TO FISTULA IN ANO

    Get PDF
From the origin of civilization the people suffered from various diseases and among the many uncomfortable conditions, Guda Roga is one of the most important one. The disease is widely prevalent and numerous options are being practiced for its management.Fistula in ano is one condition for which the maximum types of surgical, parasurgical and medical applications have been described. This divergent approach to the treatment for a single disease is only suggestive of the fact that none of these methods is complete or satisfactory. Sushruta described a detailed surgical approach involving excision of the fistulous tract but also felt the necessity of a parasurgical approach since he was not quite satisfied with the surgical excision which often resulted into recurrence. However, they limited this alternative method called Ksharasutra in selected cases only in which found unfit for surgery. Due to Ksharsutra procedure Recurrence rate is almost nil but it takes very long duration to cut and heal the track. Khadiradi Kwaths helps to inhibit to break pathogenesis of Bhagandara in short time and also prevent the recurrence rate of Bhagandara and hence recurrence rate is nearly nill and it does not take very long duration to cut and heal the track of Bhagandara with minimum expenditure. In our present study we have taken 60 patients, in two groups, 30 patients in each group. The first group is experimental group i.e., Khadiradi Kwath along with standard Ksharsutra and second is control group i.e. only Ksharsutra. We have taken observations viz. age, sex, occupation, Agni, Koshtha etc. by which we can observe the characteristics of disease in these conditions. To assess the nature of disease we have taken assessment criteria like pain, discharge, in duration, foul smell, burning sensation, itching. From above criteria we made the result of effectiveness of treatment by using ‘t’ test on 0.001% level of significance
