Smart Ticket Protection: An Architecture for Cyber-Protecting Physical Tickets Using Digitally Signed Random Pattern Markers

In order to counter forgeries of tickets for public transport or mass events, a method to validate them, using printed unique random pattern markers was developed. These markers themselves are unforgeable by their physically random distribution. To assure their authenticity, however, they have to be cryptographically protected and equipped with an environment for successful validation, combining physical and cyber security protection. This paper describes an architecture for cryptographically protecting these markers, which are stored in Aztec codes on physical tickets, in order to assure that only an authorized printer can generate a valid Aztec code of such a pattern, thus providing forge protection in combination with the randomness and uniqueness of the pattern. Nevertheless, the choice of the signature algorithm is heavily constrained by the sizes of the pattern, ticket provider data, metadata and the signature confronted by the data volume the code hold. Therefore, this paper also defines an example for a signature layout for the proposed architecture. This allows for a lightweight ticket validation system that is both physically and cryptographically secured to form a smart solution for mass access verification for both shorter to longer periods at relatively low cost.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

Android Application for Ticket Booking using QR-Code

India?s population increase day by day, mostly common peoples are depends on the railway locals for travelling to their destinations. Due to increase in travelling passengers by local trains, it is time consuming and frustrated process to buy tickets in a standing queue. To encounter this, the railway has introduced the concept of ATVM cards but losing or theft cards proved to be uneconomical. Our project deals with implementation of a smart-phone application to buy a local railway tickets which is simple and easy to use.The customer application consists of Registration and buying ticket through QR-code.Payment can be done through user?s account i.e. if user is agree to buy ticket then the equivalent ?amount? of the ticket will be deducted from the users account. After payment, ticket is generated on server side, saved in the database and also sent back to the user mobile and saved in the application?s memory which serves as a ticket for the user. The ticket checker application is used to validate the ticket by entering the serial number obtained by the user and searching in the railway database to check whether the user?s ticket is valid or invalid

Apoiar a educação de pessoas com deficiência visual usando códigos braille e tecnologia de código QR

The purpose of this research is to find a new method for blind and visually impaired people to receive information using Braille codes with QR code technology in publications, which will enable them to use the Internet to obtain diverse information by voice. Information is provided for blind and visually impaired people. This article is one of several parts the researcher presents on methods using linear or binary QR code to provide information (audio books, audio articles, audio stories for children, etc.) for people who have visual impairments. Developing a curriculum for the blind and the visually impaired is a responsibility of governments and civil society organizations. The author believes that the visually impaired have the ability to develop, promote and become more active in their communities if resources for improving their living, education, and health are available to them.El objetivo de esta investigación es encontrar un nuevo método para que las personas ciegas y con discapacidad visual reciban información mediante códigos Braille con tecnología de códigos QR en publicaciones, lo que les permitirá utilizar Internet para obtener información diversa por voz. La información se proporciona para ciegos y deficientes visuales. Este artículo es una de varias partes que el investigador presenta sobre métodos que usan código QR lineal o binario para proporcionar información (audiolibros, artículos de audio, historias de audio para niños, etc.) para personas con impedimentos visuales. El desarrollo de un plan de estudios para ciegos y personas con discapacidad visual es responsabilidad de los gobiernos y las organizaciones de la sociedad civil. ¿Influye la experiencia en el uso continuado de los sistemas de pago móvil NFC en el transporte público?

El interés hacia el pago mediante el teléfono móvil está creciendo en nuestra sociedad como alternativa al uso de efectivo, cheque o tarjetas de crédito. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la situación de los sistemas de pago móvil NFC en el transporte público, así como los factores que afectan a la intención de continuar empleando este sistema entre los usuarios. Para cumplir con estos objetivos se realizó una encuesta personal sobre una muestra de 180 usuarios del mismo. Los resultados evidencian que la satisfacción y la calidad son las dos variables más valoradas por los usuarios en el manejo del sistema analizado. Por otra parte, el efecto de la experiencia no tiene efecto moderador alguno en las relaciones propuestas. Por último, el trabajo presenta las principales implicaciones para la gestión y recomienda algunas estrategias para reforzar este nuevo servicio en el contexto de los avances tecnológicos.The interest towards mobile payment is growing as an alternative to the use of cash, checks or credit cards. The present study aims to analyse the situation of NFC (Near Field Communication) mobile payment systems in public transportation, as well as the factors that affect continuance use intention of this system among users. In order to meet these objectives a personal survey has been conducted gathering data from a sample of 180 participants. The results show that satisfaction and quality are the two most valued variables by users in the handling of the analyzed system. On the other hand, the effect of experience has no moderating effect on the proposed relationships. Finally, the paper shows the main implications for management and recommends strategies to reinforce this new business in the context of technological advances

The objective of this study is to analyze the status of Near Field Communication (NFC) mobile payment systems in public transportation, as well as the factors that affect users' intentions to continue using said systems. To meet this objective, a personal survey was conducted on a sample of 180 users with experience using this type of system. A comprehensive review of the scientific literature justifies the development of a behavioral model that explains the continuance intention of NFC mobile payments through a structural equation model. The results show that satisfaction, service quality, effort expectancy, and perceived risk are determining factors of the continuance intention to use this technology. O turismo inteligente: validação e análise da deslocação de turistas

Trabalho de projecto de mestrado, Engenharia Informática (Engenharia de Software) Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências, 2019No âmbito da tese de Mestrado em Engenharia Informática, foi escrito este relatório final para descrever os principais objetivos do projeto, as tarefas que foram realizadas, o plano de trabalhos que foi cumprido, assim como, uma análise às tarefas que ficaram por cumprir, às limitações encontradas e ao trabalho futuro. Com o crescimento contínuo do turismo, a indústria do turismo procura formas para que o movimento dos turistas numa cidade não fique dependente de atrasos nos transportes, isto para ajudar os turistas a manterem-se em movimento e aumentarem a sua satisfação, sendo esta a principal motivação deste trabalho. O movimento de turistas numa cidade segue padrões determinados pelos pontos de interesse a visitar, ao contrário dos habitantes cujas deslocações são essencialmente determinadas pelo local de trabalho e de residência. Por esta razão, o movimento dos turistas é mais variável e é importante perceber estas alterações em tempo útil. Para cumprir o que se propõe, neste trabalho pretende-se desenvolver um conjunto de otimizações e novas funcionalidades, a integrar numa aplicação móvel responsável pela venda de reservas para transportes turísticos. As reservas passarão a ser validadas com auxílio da tecnologia QR Code, que oferecerá uma maior eficiência e controlo na validação das mesmas. Para além disto será desenvolvida uma aplicação destinada aos turistas, que tira partido da tecnologia GPS e BLE e torna, assim, a utilização dos transportes turísticos mais satisfatória. Com base em inputs operacionais, nomeadamente a localização das vendas das reservas e a localização dos turistas na proximidade das paragens, iremos oferecer uma camada que tenha uma visão global da presença/procura de turistas numa cidade, recorrendo a business intelligence (BI) e multi-sensing.In the scope of the Master thesis in Informatics Engineering, this final report was written to describe the main objectives of the project, the tasks that were carried out, the work plan that was accomplished, as well as an analysis of the tasks that remained unfulfilled, the limitations encountered and future work. As tourism continues to grow, the tourism industry is looking for ways in which the movement of tourists in a city is not affected by transport delays. The main motivation of this work is to help tourists keep moving and to increase their satisfaction. The movement of tourists in a city follows patterns determined by the points of interest to visit, unlike the inhabitants whose journeys are essentially determined by the place of work and residence. For that reason, the movement of tourists is more variable, and it is important to realize these changes in a timely manner. To fulfil what is proposed, this work intends to develop a set of optimizations and new features, to be integrated in a mobile application responsible for the sale of reservations for tourist transport. Reservations are now validated using the QR Code technology, which offers greater efficiency and control in their validation. In addition, an application for tourists takes advantage of GPS and BLE to ensure movement of tourists is done smoothly and, thus, making tourist transport more satisfying. Based on operational inputs, specifically the location of reservation sales and the presence of tourists near the stops, we offer a layer that has an overall view of tourist presence/demand in a city, using business intelligence and multi-sensing

Análise multicritério de apoio à decisão : percepção dos usuários do BRT-DF quanto a integração do pagamento do bilhete através do smartphone

A pesquisa teve como referencial teórico: Inovação, Sistema Inteligente de Transportes, Mobilidade Urbana, Bilhetagem eletrônica e o Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). O levantamento de dados foi feito através de entrevista estruturada, baseada em reuniões com representantes de Transportes da Universidade de Brasília para formulação dos critérios e questionamentos. A análise de dados fora feita através do método Multicriterio de Apoio a decisão, em seu viés construtivista (MCDA-C), capaz de analisar quantitativamente um problema qualitativo, comparando a visão dos decisores com os agidos. Os dados foram lançados em software MAMADecisao, capaz de gerar resultado de desempenho de cada critério de analise, previamente estabelecido. O resultado da pesquisa mostra uma avaliação positiva dos usuários, em utilizar o smartphone como meio de pagamento de bilhete do BRT, desde que de forma segura e confiável
