For any country in the world the development is depend upon the how much energy is produced by the country. Energy is mainly in terms of electricity. The major part of energy is produced mainly in thermal power plant. The efficiency of thermal power plant is less, so we have to want increase efficiency of thermal power plant. For increase the efficiency we have to do Exergy analysis, Exergy is the useful energy which is convert into work. The method use for exergy analysis is the first law of thermodynamics and second law of thermodynamics. First law of thermodynamics is deal with quantity of energy while second law is deal with quality of energy. In exergy analysis we find a chemical exergy and physical exergy. The results show that the boiler has the greatest exergy destruction among the thermal power plant components

Power plants are part of the infrastructure of modern society, and it is needed that these power plant facilities be constructed effectively to achieve a sophisticated level of reliability. The major economic factor in power system planning, operation, and control are with the expenses of generating real power. The analysis of general power plant economic determined the possibility to fulfil the need and optimized the power generation thus lowering the cost operation for the thermal power plant system. Several factors are essential to be considered to build a thermal power plant based on the factor discussed in this study. This study also includes maximizing and eliminating the thermal power plant losses and implements good power plant economic

Background: Industry has a major role in the pollution of water supplies as well as the highest potential for reducing the consumption and implementing water and wastewater management plans. The aim of this study was to identify the best treatment method for the wastewater of Zarand thermal power plant, so that it can be implemented technically and economically and reused with least adverse environmental effects. Methods: In this study, the available data about the current status of the region was collected from the relevant organizations. Then, the status of Zarand thermal power plant in terms of the level of produced energy, production process, the type of chemicals and fuel used, the volume of water consumed and sources of water supply, the quantitative and qualitative estimation of the effluent, and the current status of collecting and discharging it were evaluated and analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. Results: The results show that water cooling units produced the highest level of wastewater in Zarand thermal power plant. Considering the cost analysis, and the advantages and disadvantages of the wastewater treatment systems, the biological sulphate removal system using activated carbon is recommended for the wastewater treatment of Zarand thermal power plant. Conclusion: The results show that environmental changes resulted from discharging the wastewater of Zarand thermal power plant into the environment can be prevented by an appropriate management, and the wastewater can be reused in the best way

This paper describes the numerical modeling of heat transfer in the area placing of the tank for storage fuel of thermal power plant and boiler with the influence of engineering construction. We have established that the presence of engineering structures in the area of placing of the tank for storage fuel of thermal power plant and boiler have little effect on the change of heat loss

Electricity supply in Nigeria is epileptic and characterized by extensive outages. The new NIPP plants constructed have not improved the power situation in the country. The performance of Alaoji Thermal Power Station being one of the new NIPP plants with an installed capacity of 504.4MW (consisting of 4 X 126.1MW GE frame-9EA gas turbines) was studied. The study evaluated the performance of the plant for the period of January to December, 2016. The key performance indices involved were CF, PUF, LF, and AF. The required data for the analysis were obtained from the plant\u27s operational records and personal interview of the relevant staff. The results of the study are shown in Table 1 – 2 and figures 1 – 7 for running hours, energy generated, load factor, availability factor, shortfall in energy generation and plant use factor respectively. When the obtained values were weighed against the International best practice of 80% (LF), 50 - 70% (PUF) and 95% (AF). Shortfall in energy generation ranged from 1.4% to 90.5%, this is in excess of 5 – 10% average acceptable value. The Average PUF was 20.1%, indicating that the plant was grossly underutilized during the study period. The plant had a capacity factor ranging from 7.1 - 37.5% with an average CF of 20% for the review period. It was evident from the results that the plant performed poorly during the period under review. This was attributed to grid restrictions, insufficient gas supply and unavailability of spare parts for maintenance. It is suggested that the management should address the challenges so as to enhance the performance of the plant

AbstractThe aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment in the Ramin Thermal Power Plant. Participants were all of operation office staff (100 employees) who were selected from Ramin Thermal Power Plant by convenient sampling and answered to two questionnaires: Cyberia-shrink emotional intelligence Questionnaire and Allen-Meyer organizational commitment. The results of regression analysis showed the positive significant relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational committees

Availability of a complex system of thermal power plant is strongly influenced by maintenance program and component reliability. Various maintenance techniques, likes RCM (reliability-centred maintenance), RBM (risk based maintenance) and CBM (condition-based maintenance), have been applied to improve the availability. Implementation of RCM, RBM, CBM alone or combined RCM and RBM or RCM and CBM is a maintenance technique used in thermal power plants. This study develops an new maintenance methodology integrating RCM, RBM and CBM to increase the availability of thermal plants. The method generates MPI (Priority Maintenance Index) and FDT (Failure Defense Task). MPI is used to determine the priority of components in maintenance program. FDT consists of the tasks of monitoring and assessment of conditions other than maintenance tasks. Both MPI and FDT obtained from development of functional tree, failure mode effects analysis, fault-tree analysis, and risk analysis (risk assessment and risk evaluation) were then used to develop and implement a plan and schedule maintenance, monitoring and assessment of the condition and ultimately perform availability analysis. The results of this study indicate that the reliability, risks and conditions-based maintenance methods, in an integrated manner can increase the availability of thermal power plant

The hazardous effect of water pollution on the histopathology of selected organs of the freshwater fish Labeo rohita was studied with respect to thermal power plant effluent. The purpose of this research paper is to study whether the thermal plume can affect fish assemblages in the waters around the outlet area of the thermal power plant located at Koradi near Nagpur city. Both experimental and control fishes were monitored for a year from March 2010 to Feb. 2011. Histopathology serve as a tool to assess the extent of damage caused to the organism.Gill tissue showed fusion of primary lamellae, congestion of blood vessels and hyperplasia of bronchial plates. The histopathological changes in the gill tissue include epithelial hyperplasia, curling of secondary lamellae and changes in chloride cells. Besides these changes pyknotic nuclei, vacuolization, degradation of epithelial and pillar cells, were noticed, which point out towards deleterious effect of thermal power plant effluent on the freshwater fish L. rohita
