Vertically operating flight vehicle for drilling and agricultural use

    Get PDF
The invention deals with an aircraft which ascends and descends vertically and which is used for recreational aircraft, as well as for drilling and in agriculture. The invention combines the floating effect of a parachute with the helicopter to develop a flight vehicle with multiple uses which go beyond those of contemporary flight vehicles. Both hub mechanisms and thrust power are implemented to achieve this goal. Four designs are described in detail

2 Degree of Freedom Robotic Leg

Professor Xing, an assistant professor at Cal Poly, proposed the 2 DOF Robotic Leg project for this quarter’s senior project class. The project is to build a robotic leg attached at the hip to a stand, which will be used as a teaching tool and eventually help develop Cal Poly’s very own robotic quadruped. Since this project has multiple uses after its completion, there are multiple customers that it must perform well for: the Cal Poly Mechanical Engineering (ME) Department, the ME Lab instructors, and the students. The Scope of Work (Sections 2 & 3) is composed of 2 main sections: Background and Objectives. The Background covers all research regarding similar products and dynamic systems while the Objectives outline the problem statement and the team’s objectives required to complete this project. The following sections are comprised Team Capy’s process of achieving those objectives throughout the yearlong project. This is described in detail and broken into the following sections: Concept Design, Final Design, Manufacturing plan, Design Verification Plan, Project Management, and Conclusion. This project’s scope has significantly changed throughout the year, resulting in a very iterative design process that led to excellent results. This document details every step of that process, leading to the development of the final design and its manufacturing process

Virtual Architecture: Designing and Directing Curriculum-Based Telecomputing

    Get PDF
Is it worth it, all this Internet stuff? Worth the time and energy it takes? Worth it because your students will learn more? Worth it because you\u27ll be a better teacher? The answer to these questions-yes and no-can be found in this readable, conversational, practical, and slyly revolutionary work. The author proposes that integrating computer-mediated technology into your classroom is well worth it if accomplished in a way that helps new and worthwhile things happen there. And then she shows you how to do just that. You\u27ll begin building with a flexible framework-clear, strong, and simple activity structures-that becomes your foundation for designing and implementing powerful curriculum-based telecomputing projects. Don\u27t expect a project directory, general reference, or manual. This is a book you\u27ll read from start to finish and be glad you did. It\u27s worth it

Coaching for success; Iowa livestock judging coaches manual

    Get PDF
The purpose of this creative component is to design a tool for 4-H and FFA livestock judging coaches to use to strengthen their team and teach their students. Livestock judging team participation helps students grow in skills including, but not limited to, communication, confidence, animal evaluation, decision-making, competitiveness, self-motivation, organization, self-discipline, and the ability to accept criticism. A manual was put together as visual material coaches could reference and reuse as they choose. Materials were gathered from 20 years of 4-H, FFA and collegiate livestock judging experiences, as well as coaching and studying other successful coaches techniques to training their teams. The material was organized into a manual with sections relating to each part of the contest including parts to the contest, mindset and motivation, classes, performance data, reasons and test. While geared toward Iowa 4-H and FFA livestock judging coaches, with the exception of the test and a general list of available contests in the state, the rest of the information is applicable to any 4-H and FFA livestock judging team in the USA

College has its own culture, jargon, and rituals much like a country. We only live in this country for four years, but when we want to revisit, we do not have yearbooks, nor can we keep every weekly Kaimin newspaper. The Oval, a literary magazine with stories, visual art, and poetry captures themes, emotions, and memories experienced at college that a record-book cannot. In the third edition of The Oval, we hear a variety of voices speaking of unique experiences, but they all come from the same country—they’re University of Montana undergraduates
