On some triangular inequalities and applications in 2-fuzzy metric spaces

The aim of this paper is to study some level forms of triangular inequality of 2-fuzzy metric spaces which will be useful for application to fixed point problems. For this aim, we first define the concept of 2-fuzzy pre-metric spaces that have weaker axioms than 2-fuzzy metric spaces with the fundamental properties. Then, we investigate the level form inequalities in 2-fuzzy metric spaces equvalent to the triangular inequalities of 2-fuzzy metric spaces by also analyzing the conditions under in which these are provided. Finally, we prove a fixed point theorem for 2-fuzzy metric spaces by considering the obtained level forms of triangular inequalities.Publisher's Versio

Cauchyness and convergence in fuzzy metric spaces

[EN] In this paper we survey some concepts of convergence and Cauchyness appeared separately in the context of fuzzy metric spaces in the sense of George and Veeramani. For each convergence (Cauchyness) concept we find a compatible Cauchyness (convergence) concept. We also study the relationship among them and the relationship with compactness and completeness (defined in a natural sense for each one of the Cauchy concepts). In particular, we prove that compactness implies p-completeness.Almanzor Sapena acknowledges the support of Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain under grant TEC2013-45492-R. On some results of analysis in metric spaces and fuzzy metric spaces

The notion of a fuzzy metric space due to George and Veeramani has many advantages in analysis since many notions and results from classical metric space theory can be extended and generalized to the setting of fuzzy metric spaces, for instance: the notion of completeness, completion of spaces as well as extension of maps. The layout of the dissertation is as follows: Chapter 1 provide the necessary background in the context of metric spaces, while chapter 2 presents some concepts and results from classical metric spaces in the setting of fuzzy metric spaces. In chapter 3 we continue with the study of fuzzy metric spaces, among others we show that: the product of two complete fuzzy metric spaces is also a complete fuzzy metric space. Our main contribution is in chapter 4. We introduce the concept of a standard fuzzy pseudo metric space and present some results on fuzzy metric identification. Furthermore, we discuss some properties of t-nonexpansive maps.Mathematical SciencesM. Sc. (Mathematics

Properties of several metric spaces of fuzzy sets

This paper discusses the properties the spaces of fuzzy sets in a metric space equipped with the endograph metric and the sendograph metric, respectively. We first give some relations among the endograph metric, the sendograph metric and the Γ\Gamma-convergence, and then investigate the level characterizations of the endograph metric and the Γ\Gamma-convergence. By using the above results, we give some relations among the endograph metric, the sendograph metric, the supremum metric and the dp∗d_p^* metric, p≥1p\geq 1. On the basis of the above results, we present the characterizations of total boundedness, relative compactness and compactness in the space of fuzzy sets whose α\alpha-cuts are compact when α>0\alpha>0 equipped with the endograph metric, and in the space of compact support fuzzy sets equipped with the sendograph metric, respectively. Furthermore, we give completions of these metric spaces, respectively

A new approach for KM-fuzzy partial metric spaces

summary:The main purpose of this paper is to give a new approach for partial metric spaces. We first provide the new concept of KM-fuzzy partial metric, as an extension of both the partial metric and KM-fuzzy metric. Then its relationship with the KM-fuzzy quasi-metric is established. In particularly, we construct a KM-fuzzy quasi-metric from a KM-fuzzy partial metric. Finally, after defining the notion of partial pseudo-metric systems, a one-to-one correspondence between partial pseudo-metric systems and KM-fuzzy partial pseudo-metrics is constructed. Furthermore, a fuzzifying topology Ï„P\tau_{P} on X deduced from KM-fuzzy partial metric is established and some properties of this fuzzifying topology are discussed

A Characterization of Strong Completeness in Fuzzy Metric Spaces

[EN] Here, we deal with the concept of fuzzy metric space(X,M,*), due to George and Veeramani. Based on the fuzzy diameter for a subset ofX, we introduce the notion of strong fuzzy diameter zero for a family of subsets. Then, we characterize nested sequences of subsets having strong fuzzy diameter zero using their fuzzy diameter. Examples of sequences of subsets which do or do not have strong fuzzy diameter zero are provided. Our main result is the following characterization: a fuzzy metric space is strongly complete if and only if every nested sequence of close subsets which has strong fuzzy diameter zero has a singleton intersection. Moreover, the standard fuzzy metric is studied as a particular case. Finally, this work points out a route of research in fuzzy fixed point theory.Juan-Jose Minana acknowledges financial support from FEDER/Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovacion y Universidades-Agencia Estatal de Investigacion/Proyecto PGC2018-095709-B-C21, and by Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness under contract DPI2017-86372-C3-3-R (AEI, FEDER, UE). Topological degree theory in fuzzy metric spaces

summary:The aim of this paper is to modify the theory to fuzzy metric spaces, a natural extension of probabilistic ones. More precisely, the modification concerns fuzzily normed linear spaces, and, after defining a fuzzy concept of completeness, fuzzy Banach spaces. After discussing some properties of mappings with compact images, we define the (Leray-Schauder) degree by a sort of colimit extension of (already assumed) finite dimensional ones. Then, several properties of thus defined concept are proved. As an application, a fixed point theorem in the given context is presented
