A Study on Slangs Found in Malang Post

The objective of this study is the researcher wants to describe slang of reversion, pure \ud slang, and slang of loan word written in Malang Post published on October 2004. \ud The design of this study is descriptive qualitative. The accessible population is only \ud newspapers published on October 2004 and the sample is all “Ngalam” columns written in \ud October 2004. On that period, the researcher found 25 “Ngalam” columns as the sample. \ud The data collection method used in this research is documentary study. The document in \ud this study is Malang Post newspapers published on October 2004. \ud Based on the research, there are 48 slang words found in “Ngalam” column published in \ud October 2004. 44 words grouped as slang of reversion, 1 word as pure slang, and 3 words \ud as slang of loan word. 35 of them are adopted from Indonesian language and the rest are \ud Javanese. \ud From the result of the research, the researcher concludes that slang of reversion of \ud Indonesian dominate the finding. Malang people prefer to adopt Indonesian words rather \ud than Javanese in creating slang of reversion because several reasons. \ud The researcher hopes the result of this research can be used as one of the reference \ud especially for the lecturer who teaches sociolinguistic and it can be used as an additional \ud material in teaching slang. The researcher also wants to give a description about slang \ud written in Malang Post for the students from other cities who wants to know more about \ud slang in Malang and as a comparison with slang from their own city

The Meaning of Slang Language in 22 Jump Street Movie

This research focused on the meaning of slang language used by the characters in 22Jump Street Movie. The research was conducted by using qualitative method. Thedata were collected from the movie script. The objective of the study was to find outthe meaning of the slang language used by the characters in 22 Jump Street Movieand also the reason why the characters used the slang language. The data were takenfrom the movie script which was downloaded from the internet. The data wereanalyzed by using Eric Partridge\u27s theory about slang. The result showed that themeaning used by the characters were contextual meaning, depending on the situationor given context of the scene. The result show that only several slang language thathave literal meaning. The reason of using slang language in this research was toreduce seriousness of the conversation since the movie was a comedy-action genre inwhich the comedy and action must be appeared at the same time

Precise service level agreements

SLAng is an XML language for defining service level agreements, the part of a contract between the client and provider of an Internet service that describes the quality attributes that the service is required to possess. We define the semantics of SLAng precisely by modelling the syntax of the language in UML, then embedding the language model in an environmental model that describes the structure and behaviour of services. The presence of SLAng elements imposes behavioural constraints on service elements, and the precise definition of these constraints using OCL constitutes the semantic description of the language. We use the semantics to define a notion of SLA compatibility, and an extension to UML that enables the modelling of service situations as a precursor to analysis, implementation and provisioning activities

AN ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH SLANG WORDS DISCUSSED BY SLANG CONTENT CREATORS ON TIKTOK

This study discusses the analysis of the meaning and types of English slang words used by English speaking people on TikTok. This study also discusses the contribution of English slang words in language learning. There are 50 data that have been analyzed by researchers. The methodology of this research was qualitative research. The study consisted of three steps, they were; reading, selecting, and classifying the data. To identify the types of slang words, the researcher used the theory of Michael Munro (2007). The researcher also used online and manual to find the meaning of English slang words. Researchers found six out of eight types of slang words on TikTok. They are United States slang, Canadian slang, Australian slang, New Zealand slang, South African slang, and Irish slang. The researcher did not find slang words that belong to the type of Caribbean slang and South Asian slang. There are 16 United States slang words, 3 Canadian slang words, 11 Australian slang words, 10 New Zealand slang words, 5 South African slang words, and 5 Irish slang words. The United States slang type dominates the type of slang used by English speaking people on TikTok

An analysis of slang term used in fast and furious 7 movie

ABSTRACT Slang is confidential informal English spoken which created and used by a particular community. This study discusses about an analysis of slang in Fast and Furious 7 movie. The purpose of this study is to find the type and the meaning of slang used in Fast and Furious 7 movie. The source of the data was taken from the script of Fast and Furious 7 movie. Fast and Furious 7 movie are classified as American action movies released on 15th April 2015 and directed by James Wan. The research design used in this study is descriptive qualitative research with a document or content analysis as the research type. This thesis described one by one word or phrase of slang found from Fast and Furious 7 movie by using dictionaries and theory related about slang. It is the characteristics of type slang. From the analysis, there were three types of slangs, they were society slang, public house slang, and soldier slang. There were 15 words of society slang, 6 words of public house slang, and 1 word of soldier slang. Then the slang term in the form of words and phrases were classified and analyzed. The finding shows that there are some words and phrases of slang in Fast and Furious 7 that have been classified into types of slang. The examples are Goddamn, Bastards, What the hell. Guy, Kids, Homie, and click. This study is highly expected to give contribution for the reader to know about slangs clearly. It can help the reader speak English fluently. And It can also be expected to enrich new English vocabulary used in the daily conversation. Kemudian slang yang berbentuk kata dan prase diklasifikasi dan dianalisis. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa slang yang berbentuk kata dan frase dalam in Fast and Furious 7 yang sudah di klasifikasikan ke dalam tipe slang. Contohnya adalah Goddamn, Bastards, What the hell. Guy, Kids, Homie, and click. Penelitian ini sangat diharapkan dapat memberikan contribusi untuk pembaca untuk mengetahui slang dengan jelas.
