    Ethnic diversity makes Indonesia rich in diverse cultures. Indonesia\u27s geographical differences can enrich cultural treasures. Including as shadow puppets, the traditional arts in Indonesia. Shadow puppets are more developed in the central and eastern Java.Making educational game aims to introduce culture to the Indonesian shadow puppets especially children who will be the next generation. Because of the erosion of indigenous Indonesian culture with foreign cultures. So with more applicable learning methods, it is hoped the public, especially children - children can be more interested in getting to know their own culture.Based on that, the authors attempted to solve the above problems by providing solutions to help bring genuine Indonesian shadow puppets to children. Through these educational games, children will get information about shadow puppets playing and not get bored because it comes with images, text, animation, video, and sound that allows users to interact

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Media shadow puppets untuk Keterampilan Menyimak Cerita Fabel pada Peserta Didik Kelas II Sekolah Dasar. Dan untuk mengetahui kevalidan media Shadow Puppets untuk Keterampilan Menyimak Cerita Fabel pada Peserta Didik Kelas II Sekolah Dasar. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D Thiagarajan terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perencanaan), develop (pengembangan), disseminate (penyebaran). Sedangkan peneliti memodifikasi hanya sampai tahap develop (pengembangan). Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas II UPT SDN 70 Gresik yang berjumlah 24 peserta didik dan 2 validator ahli materi yaitu guru kelas II dan 2 validator ahli media yaitu dosen PGSD Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah validasi dan angket respon peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data hasil validasi dan uji coba diperoleh bahwa Pengembangan Media Shadow Puppets untuk Keterampilan Menyimak Cerita Fabel pada Peserta Didik Kelas II Sekolah Dasar menghasilkan media shadow puppets yang berkualitas, yaitu a) media shadow puppets dikategorikan valid pada validasi ahli materi (96,67%) dan validasi ahli media (91,67%); b) media shadow puppets dikategorikan praktis dengan presentase skor presentase skor angket respon peserta didik 94%

    With the development of science and technology, traditional musical instruments are starting to be abandoned, one of the factors is the ease of playing modern musical instruments, and traditional musical instruments are also rarely found in everyday life. With the progress of today's era, AR (Augmented Reality) technology was born. The way Augmented Reality works is by scanning a sign or marker. This research aims to build an application with augmented reality technology to introduce traditional shadow puppets musical instruments. This research was designed using the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) method. They were testing the application using blackbox testing on two smartphones with different specifications, with the result that both smartphones could run the application properly. Then for testing the use of the application using the heuristic evaluation method carried out by an expert with the highest severity rating value on the visibility of system status with a value of 0.625. The result of this research is the application of traditional shadow puppets musical instruments based on augmented reality, which is expected to be used to introduce traditional shadow puppets musical instruments

    Shadow puppets is an arts which is still preserved until now. Recently, shadow puppets can becollaborated with tehcnology through act of revitalization. This is shown by many artworks in the field ofVisual Communication Design which adapt shadow puppets. The figures of shadow puppets become mainpart which is referred for designing of digital artwork, especially “character design”. On the other side,revitalization of puppets in form of character design is more concerned with aesthetic aspect than typicalidentity ones. Whereas, each figure has its own identity and temper which different from each other.This encourages the researchers to look for relation between visual form with typical identity of puppetfigures. The analysis of puppet visual form is required by taking sample based on the classification of thepuppet figures, namely: ‘denawa’, ‘punggawa’, ‘gagahan’, ‘satria’, ‘putran’, ‘putren’, ‘bayen’, ‘dagelan’, and‘kewanan’.     This research tends to highlight the symbolic and philosophic values of Purwo shadow puppets. Most of the study themes though emphasize its exhibition. The objective of this study is to demonstrate the process of ongoing cultural art value of carving decoration in Wonogiri, in an effort to preserve the presence of Purwo shadow puppets. This case study was conducted in Kepuhsari village, Manyaran, Wonogiri, a village considered as the Purwo shadow puppets center long since generations before until now. This research uses a qualitative approach based a fixed distinct strategy. Data were collected through open interviews, observations and analysis of the documents/record contents. Then, they were analyzed using an interactive model starting from its collection, reduction process, then presentation and verification cycle. The results showed that the art value of carving decoration of Purwo shadow puppet in Wonogiri remains indelible and continues to exist until today since it has harmoniously been nurtured / cultured in a continuous way, whether in formal or non-formal education. Informal education implies learning activities undertaken at the master‟s, who is very knowledgeable in carving decoration, which tends to be social and freely performed at his home. Whereas formal ones, regarding civilizing value of carving decoration, take place at schools, where its materials are technically integrated at local culture programs and extra-curricular activities which are contracted in a planned but scheduled as well as cultivated by appointed instructors

    Wayang kulit adalah salah satu budaya Indonesia yang telah diakui oleh dunia. Salah satu sentra pengrajin wayang kulit terbaik berada di Dusun Gendeng, Kasihan, Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Dusun Gendeng sudah menjadi sentra kerajinan wayang kulit sejak Indonesia belum merdeka dari penjajahan kolonial Belanda, yaitu sekitar tahun 1925. Keahlian membuat wayang kulit di dusun ini diperoleh dari seorang abdi dalem Keraton Yogyakarta. Perancangan ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk merancang buku foto esai yang dapat menceritakan tentang kerajinan wayang kulit di Dusun Gendeng sebagai upaya pelestarian berupa dokumentasi serta arsip sejarah Dusun Gendeng sebagai salah satu tempat kerajinan wayang kulit. Buku foto esai ini berisi tentang informasi seputar wayang kulit, Dusun Gendeng sebagai sentra kerajinan wayang kulit, hingga proses pembuatan wayang kulit. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi, wawancara, serta studi literatur. Hasil dari data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan metode 5W+1H. Perancangan ini menghasilkan sebuah buku foto esai yang menceritakan tentang kerajinan wayang kulit yang ada di Dusun Gendeng. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menceritakan tentang kerajinan wayang kulit di Dusun Gendeng agar lebih dikenal oleh masyarakat luas.Essay Photobook Design of Shadow Puppet Craftsmanship in Gendeng Bantul YogyakartaShadow puppet is an Indonesian national heritage recognized globally. Gendeng Hamlet in Kasihan, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta, stands as one of the prominent centers for shadow puppet craftsmanship. Since the era of Dutch colonialism around 1925, Gendeng Hamlet has become a hub for this traditional art form. The knowledge of creating Shadow puppets in this region was passed down by courtiers from the Keraton. This design project aims to create an essay photobook that documents and archives the story of shadow puppet craftsmanship in Gendeng Hamlet, serving as a means of preservation. This photobook aims to provide information on shadow puppets, highlight Gendeng Hamlet's significance as a center for shadow puppet artisans, and explore the process of crafting shadow puppets. The data for this project was gathered through observation, interviews, and literature review, and analyzed using the 5W+1H method. This design project produces an essay photobook, portraying the narrative of shadow puppet craftsmanship in Gendeng Hamlet. It is expected that this design project will help to shed light on the art of shadow puppets in Gendeng, making it more widely known to the general public

    Improving kindergarten students' reading ability using fantasy shadow puppet

    This Classroom Action Research aims to improve students’ low reading skills. Improving reading skills will promote brain development and imagination, develop language and emotions, and strengthen relationships. Through Fantasy Shadow Puppet, students will be more interested and motivated to learn to read. To obtain the desired research results, a quantitative approach with two cycles was used. Each of the cycles covered four competencies, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data was obtained by observing 20 students of Group B at TKM NU 262 AL KAMAL SIDOARJO using observation sheets. The results of the study showed a very significant increase in the students' reading ability up to 37.63% after learning using Fantasy Shadow Puppets. With Fantasy Shadow Puppets students can ask questions, guess which, then find answers (language development reactions) to the storylines they hear, the span of attention to stories becomes longer because students concentrate on stories, and are able to organize their own abilities because children learn from amazing experiences so that they will build confidence in what is conveyed
