Chaos Quantum-Behaved Cat Swarm Optimization Algorithm and Its Application in the PV MPPT

    Get PDF
Cat Swarm Optimization (CSO) algorithm was put forward in 2006. Despite a faster convergence speed compared with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, the application of CSO is greatly limited by the drawback of “premature convergence,” that is, the possibility of trapping in local optimum when dealing with nonlinear optimization problem with a large number of local extreme values. In order to surmount the shortcomings of CSO, Chaos Quantum-behaved Cat Swarm Optimization (CQCSO) algorithm is proposed in this paper. Firstly, Quantum-behaved Cat Swarm Optimization (QCSO) algorithm improves the accuracy of the CSO algorithm, because it is easy to fall into the local optimum in the later stage. Chaos Quantum-behaved Cat Swarm Optimization (CQCSO) algorithm is proposed by introducing tent map for jumping out of local optimum in this paper. Secondly, CQCSO has been applied in the simulation of five different test functions, showing higher accuracy and less time consumption than CSO and QCSO. Finally, photovoltaic MPPT model and experimental platform are established and global maximum power point tracking control strategy is achieved by CQCSO algorithm, the effectiveness and efficiency of which have been verified by both simulation and experiment

Explicit Edge Inconsistency Evaluation Model for Color-Guided Depth Map Enhancement

© 2016 IEEE. Color-guided depth enhancement is used to refine depth maps according to the assumption that the depth edges and the color edges at the corresponding locations are consistent. In methods on such low-level vision tasks, the Markov random field (MRF), including its variants, is one of the major approaches that have dominated this area for several years. However, the assumption above is not always true. To tackle the problem, the state-of-the-art solutions are to adjust the weighting coefficient inside the smoothness term of the MRF model. These methods lack an explicit evaluation model to quantitatively measure the inconsistency between the depth edge map and the color edge map, so they cannot adaptively control the efforts of the guidance from the color image for depth enhancement, leading to various defects such as texture-copy artifacts and blurring depth edges. In this paper, we propose a quantitative measurement on such inconsistency and explicitly embed it into the smoothness term. The proposed method demonstrates promising experimental results compared with the benchmark and state-of-the-art methods on the Middlebury ToF-Mark, and NYU data sets

Essays on political economy of finance and fintech

    Get PDF
This thesis consists of two chapters in political economy of finance and one chapter in FinTech. My central interest is to study the interaction between socioeconomic stability and financial activities of corporations and financial institutions. The first chapter focuses on whether economic shocks trigger labour unrest and fuel political extremism. The second chapter provides an analysis as to how state-owned firms use internal funds to address sudden social unrest events. The final chapter investigates if new peer-to-peer (P2P) lending technology undermines macroprudential regulation and adds risk to financial stability

Implementing of HIV/AIDS Cadre Partnership to Reduce Stigma on People Living with HIV/AIDS: A Case Study

    Get PDF
The performance of HIV/AIDS cadres playing a role in the wider community is still low. The capacity of cadres needs to be improved through partnerships with stakeholders. The purpose is to explain the implementation of the partnership of HIV/AIDS cadre with stakeholders as an effort to reduce stigma among people living with HIV/AIDS in Kudus Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The research method used a holistic multiple-case design, with a focus on PLWHA and HIV/AIDS cadres in two locations are Kandangmas and Rejosari villages, Dawe sub-district, Kudus district. A total of 40 participants were recruited through purposive sampling with inclusion criteria. Data analysis using thematic and document analysis. The results showed that after training HIV/AIDS cadres felt more empowered, knew their roles and carried out partnerships with stakeholders. The partnership strategy addresses the critical challenges of health human resources in this region. HIV/AIDS cadres with their transformative role have the potential to improve services in the community to reduce the stigma of PLWHA so as to achieve the goal of HIV elimination

Structure Identification and Functional Mechanism of Natural Active Components

    Get PDF
The natural active components derived from plants have attracted widespread attention due to their abundant species and source advantages. With the continuous deepening of research, studies have shown that many natural active components have broad-spectrum biological activities, such as antioxidant, antihypertensive, hypoglycemic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticancer, and enzyme-inhibiting activity properties, which are valuable sources of research and development in functional food factors and novel drugs. Systematical studies on the structure of components, physiological activities, the structure–activity relationship, and mechanisms of action for active components using modern scientific methods and experimental means are hot research topics. In addition, the exploration of the combined effect and mechanism of various natural bioactive substances will provide a theoretical basis for the further processing and comprehensive development of resources at multiple levels and from various points of view. This Special Issue of Foods, entitled “Structure Identification and Functional Mechanism of Natural Active Components”, provides a forum for researchers to communicate some of their latest findings in this field

The objective of this research is to test and analize brand involvement ang motives consumer in the electronic-word of mouth communication engagement in social media. The kinds of electronic-word of mouth communication in social media such as writing, liking, sharing, recomending, commenting, and tweeting. The subject of this research are people who ever makes an electronic-word of mouth in social media. The object of this research are Facebook, Titter, Google+, and Alexa. The method used in the research is survey by using purposive sampling technique to 200 sosial media’s users in Indonesia that ever wrote a testimonial.. Datas analyze using SPSS and hypothesis testing using simple linear regression.  This findings shows brand involvement, product involvement, self involvement, and advice seeking  has positive and significant effect to electronic-word of mouth communication in social media, and the other hand, other involvement has positive effect but not significant, and also need for social interaction has negative effect to the electronic-word of mouth communication in social media. In means in the research, there are 4 hypothesis supported and 2 hypothesis not supported.
