New frontiers in Iranian Archaeology: digital technology and cultural heritage
Inspired by my recent work in Iran - were I was able to compile a digital corpus of material culture related to the ancient Iranian civilization of Elam - I stipulate and encourage archeological and museological objectives cognizant of twenty-first-century challenges. At its core, this vision is compelled by a philosophical understanding of the museum as a research and didactical institution, while critically considering the complex relationships between museums and politics, and the imperative need to merge computer literacy with a sound understanding of the material at hand. At the end it is the archaeologist, I argue, that through our privileged role as interpreters of the material past, together with a full awareness of present cultural and political realities, is uniquely positioned to advocate for fully-implemented digital museum systems which would make archaeological collections truly accessible to a global audienc
The marketing of high-tech innovation: research and teaching as a multidisciplinary communication task
Economically successful high-tech innovation is one of the driving forces for global welfare. Like innovation half-life, break-even time to market or technology acceptance, effective multidisciplinary communication between engineering and marketing is a critical success factor. This paper aims to show the requirements of multidisciplinary communication in B2B marketing of high-tech innovation and methodical approaches in research and academic education:
1. Requirements in high-tech innovation marketing as an ongoing dialogue between technology, finance and marketing.
2. Experimental method of marketing test beds for innovative high-tech start-ups based on a multidisciplinary approach.
3. Results of a multidisciplinary education scheme conducted by three universities that cooperate in high-tech innovation marketing by setting up workshops in pharmacy and health, agricultural and bio products, and information and communication technology (ICT).
4. Requirements of a multidisciplinary network spanning the triangle of science – education – business.

Institutional plan. Fiscal Year 1997--2002
Sandia National Laboratories is operated for the United States Department of Energy by a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation. National security programs and defense-related environmental programs for DOE comprise 65 percent of Sandia`s work. We are the DOE Defense Programs laboratory responsible for engineering development of all US nuclear weapons and for systems integration of the nuclear weapons with their delivery vehicles. Our responsibilities include design, certification, and assessment of the nonnuclear subsystems of nuclear weapons; safety, security, reliability, and use control; issues associated with production and dismantlement of nuclear weapons; surveillance and support of weapons in the stockpile; and work in nuclear intelligence, nonproliferation, and treaty verification technologies. Sandia is a multiprogram laboratory. Ten percent of our work supports DOE missions in energy science, research, and development. When appropriate, we also perform work for other government agencies, particularly the Department of Defense, in programs where unique competencies built our mission responsibilities can add value. This report discusses the activities of these responsibilities at the Sandia National Laboratories
