The purpose of this article is to remove the myths and black art surrounding electronic imaging and prove beyond doubt that any mind competent in the workings of the human body is capable of producing good on-screen images from adequate equipment. Note that in this day and age of SI units imaging still uses inches to describe diagonal screen size and pixels per inch to describe resolution.peer-reviewe

The purpose of this research is three things. First, describe the skills of producing statement observation text of SMA Ekasakti Padang student of before applied technic Mind Mapping of based of Project based Learning Model. Second, describe the skill of producing statement observation text of SMA Ekasakti Padang student after applied technic Mind Mapping based of Project based Learning Model. Third, analyze the influence of thetechnic Mind Mapping based of Project based Learning Model to the skill of producing statement observation text of grade X students of SMA Ekasakti Padang. This type of research is quantitative research. The research method applied is descriptive method of analysis. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion obtained the following conclusions. First, the skill of producing the statement observation text of the students of class X IPA 1 SMA Ekasakti Padang before applied the technic Mind Mapping based on the model of Project based Learning is in medium qualification with the average value of 64. Second, the skill of producing the statement observation text of the students of class X IPA 1 SMA Ekasakti Padang after the adoption technic Mind Mapping method Based on the Project based Learning model is in good qualification with the average value of 84. Third, the influence of the application of technic Mind Mapping method Based on the Project based Learning model on the skills of producing poetical text after the t-test at the level of 0.95, obtained tcount> ttable or 9.42> 1.70. So H0 is rejected and H1 accepted. This means, the implementation of technic Min Mapping method Based on the Project based Learning model is feasible applied to learning to produce statement observation text of students of class X SMA Ekasakti Padang

Spin-Mediated Consciousness Theory: Possible Roles of Neural Membrane Nuclear Spin Ensembles and Paramagnetic Oxygen

A novel theory of consciousness is proposed in this paper. We postulate that consciousness is intrinsically connected to quantum spin since the latter is the origin of quantum effects in both Bohm and Hestenes quantum formulism and a fundamental quantum process associated with the structure of space-time. That is, spin is the “mind-pixel.” The unity of mind is achieved by entanglement of the mind-pixels. Applying these ideas to the particular structures and dynamics of the brain, we theorize that human brain works as follows: Through action potential modulated nuclear spin interactions and paramagnetic O2/NO driven activations, the nuclear spins inside neural membranes and proteins form various entangled quantum states some of which survive decoherence through quantum Zeno effects or in decoherence-free subspaces and then collapse contextually via irreversible and non-computable means producing consciousness and, in turn, the collective spin dynamics associated with said collapses have effects through spin chemistry on classical neural activities thus influencing the neural networks of the brain. Our proposal calls for extension of associative encoding of neural memories to the dynamical structures of neural membranes and proteins. Thus, according our theory, the nuclear spin ensembles are the “mind-screen” with nuclear spins as its pixels, the neural membranes and proteins are the mind-screen and memory matrices, and the biologically available paramagnetic species such as O2 and NO are pixel-activating agents. Together, they form the neural substrates of consciousness. We also present supporting evidence and make important predictions. We stress that our theory is experimentally verifiable with present technologies. Further, experimental realizations of intra-/inter-molecular nuclear spin coherence and entanglement, macroscopic entanglement of spin ensembles and NMR quantum computation, all in room temperatures, strongly suggest the possibility of a spin-mediated mind

Performance of the MIND detector at a Neutrino Factory using realistic muon reconstruction

A Neutrino Factory producing an intense beam composed of nu_e(nubar_e) and nubar_mu(nu_mu) from muon decays has been shown to have the greatest sensitivity to the two currently unmeasured neutrino mixing parameters, theta_13 and delta_CP . Using the `wrong-sign muon' signal to measure nu_e to nu_mu(nubar_e to nubar_mu) oscillations in a 50 ktonne Magnetised Iron Neutrino Detector (MIND) sensitivity to delta_CP could be maintained down to small values of theta_13. However, the detector efficiencies used in previous studies were calculated assuming perfect pattern recognition. In this paper, MIND is re-assessed taking into account, for the first time, a realistic pattern recognition for the muon candidate. Reoptimisation of the analysis utilises a combination of methods, including a multivariate analysis similar to the one used in MINOS, to maintain high efficiency while suppressing backgrounds, ensuring that the signal selection efficiency and the background levels are comparable or better than the ones in previous analyses

RESPONSE TO JOHN COWAN'S PAPER: THOUGHT AND MIND AS THE PROJECTION OF MENTAHOLOMORPHIC FIELDS BY THE BRAIN: A PROPOSED MECHANISM

Responses to the classic mind-body problem typically led to theories reducing mind to matter, matter to mind, epiphenomenal views of brain producing mind without feedback, mystical or creationist views of spirit producing mind and matter alike (again often without feedback), direct dualistic interaction between mind and body, or to the identification of both mental and physical realms as aspects of a neutral or more fundamental phenomenon. The growing sophistication of research in the cognitive neurosciences in recent decades, however, has enabled the formulation of more precise questions, at least, about the mindbody relationship. Since the decade of the brain in the 1990s, neuroscience has come to study the complexity of brain process, from its molecular mechanisms, to its neuronal firing patterns and localization of function, to its signature brainwaves and other "biofield" manifestations. Most importantly, the cognitive neurosciences have identified neural correlates of consciousness (NCC) in the higher frequency bands of brain function, ranging from gamma at 30 to 60 Hz (cycles per second) and higher. Specific areas of the brain, associated with the thalamocortical oscillations (TCO), seem to be involved in producing these frequencies. These oscillations and their electromagnetic signatures have been strongly correlated with general presence of consciousness in waking and dreaming and the specific experiences of consciousness. The intensities and frequencies of these oscillations and their electromagnetic emissions have also been shown to be greater in healers, meditators, mystics, and psychics, who have presumably cultivated higher states of consciousness

This study aims (1) to explain the learning outcomes of Mind Map applications to improve the ability of Grade XI students of the Department of Network Computer Engineering at SMK Negeri 3 Makassar in producing procedure texts and (2) to explain and analyze the effectiveness of Mind map applications to improve the ability of SMK Negeri 3 Makassar students in producing procedure texts. This type of research is a class action or abbreviated with CAR. In this study there were no comparison classes. The experimental class as well as the control class. In its implementation several cycles are applied. The results showed: (1) An increase in student learning outcomes during the learning process took place with the learning of Mind map applications. Learning outcomes in the first cycle obtained an average value of 74.75 and the second cycle reached an average value of 84.06. Improved mastery learning outcomes classically is 31.25% with an average value of 9.31 and the final test score classically is 90.03. (2) With the Mind Mind application learning and teaching psychology approach to students, this proves that the mastery of learning to improve student competence in producing procedural texts has reached the specified KKM that is 75% and has been effective and the results are very good compared to learning with methods conventional.
