Zapomniana poezja Wandy Melcer-Rutkowskiej

The author presents a glossary for Wanda Melcer-Rutkowska’s biography, which draws on her social and literary activity in the context of cultural trans-formations at the beginning of the 20th century. Moreover, the author clearly outlines Melcer Rutkowska’s active engagement in a variety of initiatives intended to revolutionise the realm of customs and art. The article draws on the literary output of the author of Miasto zwierząt, indicating the impact it had during the interwar years. Special attention is paid to the forgotten poetry which was eventually included in a compilation of previously printed volumes and those poems which had been formally scattered throughout the press. Zuzanna Ginczanka w archiwach i bibliotekach

Artykuł omawia najważniejsze dokumenty związane z osobą i twórczością Zuzanny Ginczanki, zebrane w archiwach i bibliotekach: zarówno spuściznę poetki, jak i materiały wytworzone w miejscach i przez instytucje, z którymi była związana. Największa część spuścizny znajduje się w Muzeum Literatury im. Adama Mickiewicza w Warszawie, w tym młodzieńcze rękopisy, będące podstawą prac edytorskich. Zbiory warszawskiego muzeum i problemy edytorskie związane z rękopisami Ginczanki (i pierwodrukami jej wierszy oraz edycjami tej twórczości z lat 1953 i 1980) zostały omówione w pierwszych dwóch częściach tekstu. Następnie autorka opisała domniemaną historię rękopisu Ginczanki znalezionego w 2018 roku w Bibliotece Poznańskiego Towarzystwa Przyjaciół Nauk, wskazała materiały archiwalne do biografii poetki (w tym odnalezione w 2020 roku dokumenty złożone przez Zuzannę Gincburg w Wyższej Szkole Dziennikarskiej w Warszawie w roku 1935) oraz zasygnalizowała problem zaginionego rękopisu ostatniego wiersza poetki.The article entitled Zuzanna Ginczanka in archives and libraries discusses the most important documents on the poetess as well as the body of her poetic output. The remnants of her poetry that survived are currently held in various archives and libraries, along with items relevant to the literary heritage of the poetess and materials that were produced and preserved at those places and institutions she was attached to. The vast majority of her literary heritage is now preserved in the Adam Mickiewicz Literature Museum and includes, among others, her juvenile manuscripts that can provide a basis for further editorial works. The collections of the Warsaw museum and the editorial problems related to the Ginczanka’s manuscripts (as well as the first official editions of her poems and earlier editions of her collections of poems) are discussed in the first two sections of the article. Further, the author discusses the alleged history of Ginczanka’s manuscript found in the library of the Poznan Society of Friends of Sciences two years ago, indicates archival materials related to the biography of the poetess (including the documents handed over by Zuzanna Gincburg to the Higher School of Journalism in Warsaw in 1935 and found in 2020), and indicates a problem of the lost manuscript of the last poem written by Ginczanka

The Distrustful Versus the Indignant: a Polemic on Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna’s Szeptem

This article discusses the literary dispute over Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna’s poetry collected in the Szeptem volume (1966). The dispute started with an ironic review by a young literary critic, Stanisław Barańczak, in the “Nurt” magazine published in Poznań. The article’s author interprets three aspects of the dispute: its legend-creating impact on Iłłakowiczówna as a literary institution, its destructive nature against Iłłakowiczówna as a canonical poet and the dispute’s status in the literary circles of the 1960s. The article provides evidence that Barańczak’s pamphlet hit the poetics and legend of Iłłakowiczówna; what is more, it triggered off a self-repair mechanism of the canon, reinforcing and sealing it from the pressure exerted by the young poets and critics in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. This mechanism, ephemeral from the point of view of the dynamics of literary circles, ultimately carved in stone the legend of Iłłakowiczówna, preventing new interpretations of her poetry and biography

The main of paper is to show Inga Iwasiów’s ways of understanding how women’s novels (mainly written after 1989) deal with categories such as: women’s writing, theoretical borders, politics of literature. Ideas are shown in both ways: as literary practice and critical concepts. Also under consideration was taken literature of personal document, what made panoramic map of women’s writing more diversified, and furthermore, made interesting proposals of interpretation and reading (both, critical and personal) exquisitely useful and efficient

Polscy pisarze wobec faszyzmu

Faszyzm wedle sławnej formuły wybitnego niemieckiego badacza Ernsta Noltego był wydarzeniem epokowym i naznaczył cały wiek XX. Był popularny także wśród pisarzy i to często bardzo wybitnych, że przypomnę Marinettiego, Malapartego, Pounda, Jüngera, Céline’a, Drieu La Rochelle’a, Benna, Heideggera, Brasillacha… Na temat ich związków z faszyzmem powstały na Zachodzie już setki, jeśli nie tysiące, prac, a ich liczba zderza się z nieobecnością podobnych studiów w naszym literaturoznawstwie. Tym większe zainteresowanie musi budzić obszerna książka Pawła Sobczaka. [...] Autorowi chodzi nie tylko o to, jak widzieli polscy pisarze hitleryzm i III Rzeszę, ale także jak postrzegali faszyzm włoski i Włochy Mussoliniego. Pawła Sobczaka interesuje też to, jak polscy pisarze wyobrażali sobie faszyzm jako taki, czy potrafili rozpoznać modernistyczny i totalitarny charakter doktryny faszystowskiej i na ile sami faszyzmowi lub „ideologiom faszyzującym” się poddawali, a na ile się im opierali. Obszerna, erudycyjna, wnikliwa, ambitnie i oryginalnie pomyślana książka Pana Sobczaka niewątpliwie zasługuje na uwagę czytelników. Podziw budzi jej interdyscyplinarny charakter, swoboda, z jaką snuje swą opowieść autor, zdradzając talent dobrego eseisty.
