Identification and ranking of effective factors of marketing (controllable) to receive the services from free zone with MADM approach

    Get PDF
This study applies the fuzzy MCDM (multicriteria decision making) to evaluate the services Performance in free trade zone. Performance evaluation is an important issue for managers, since it can be used as a reference in decision making with regard to performance improvement, specially teaching performance improvement. For this purpose, in this study, we use fuzzy set theory for the measurement of performance and apply AHP in obtaining criteria weight and TOPSIS in ranking. A fuzzy MCDM is an approach for evaluating decision alternatives involving subjective judgments made by a group of decision makers. A pairwise comparison process is used to help individual decision makers make comparative judgments, and a linguistic rating method is used for making absolute judgments

Price, as the only element of the marketing mix that generate revenue, has great importance for managers and companies’ pricing officers. Besides, there are only a small number of articles in this field, so in order to determine the components which affect pricing objectives, factor analysis has been used in this article focusing on the data gathered from petrochemical companies in Iran. After refining and going through two stages of questionnaires, 37 variables were extracted from the initial 76 variables and by factor analysis, 4 components were determined. With respect to petrochemical products pricing, findings in this article illustrate a set of qualitative and quantitative variables in the form of limitations of entering the export market or strategies such as penetration strategy, market development, and opportunity creation. Key words: Pricing objectives; Exporting petrochemicals products; Pricin

Supplier selection using a hybrid model for 3C industry

    Get PDF
Supplier selection is a good strategy for firms that can reduce operating costs and improve competitiveness for computer, communication and consumer electronics (3C) industry. The major aim of this research is to build a systematic approach for establishing a supplier selection model, and then prioritize improvement criteria in order to best supply chain management. The study proposed a hybrid approach by using the interpretive structural modeling (ISM) method to deal with the interrelationship among criteria, and the analytic network process (ANP) method is employed to recognize the criteria of supplier selection and evaluate with respect to environmental competency for the case of Taiwan's 3C industry. The study shows that the proposed model could be an effective and efficient decision-making tool that can be easily extended to other contexts. Especially, it has provided decision-makers and researchers with better understanding of the differences in supplier selection activity needs and specific management interventions by examining these criteria

Supplier selection criteria and methods: past, present and future

Sole purpose of supplier selection is not limited to get supply at low cost and at right time. Supplier selection is a strategic decision to fulfil company’s goal for long period of time at low risk. To accomplish this objective companies are moving from reactive buying to proactive buying to give more priority to co-creation of wealth with supplier/s. Considering this issue an attempt has been made in this paper to give systematic review of supplier selection and evaluation process from 2005 to 2012 to answer three main questions: (i) Which method is more appropriate for supplier selection? (ii) Which evaluating criteria were most cited? (iii) Is present trend of research is adequate enough to support proactive buying? In this regard, 78 papers are classified into 10 categories to identify factors affecting supplier selection and evaluation process. Statistical analysis has been conducted with software “R” to have better insight on the trend of research. Recommendations and future work is also included to verify inadequacy of existing methods, if any, to support proactive buying process

Integrated FAHP, ARAS-F and MSGP methods for green supplier evaluation and selection

    Get PDF
In recent years, determining the best supplier in the green supply chain has become a key strategic task for a firm. Since the decision usually involves several objectives or criteria, the green supplier selection process is a fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making (FMCDM) problem. Considering both qualitative and quantitative criteria, this study proposes new integrated fuzzy techniques for fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP), fuzzy additive ratio assessment (ARASF) and multi-segment goal programming (MSGP) approach to solve the green supplier selection problems. The advantage of this method is that it allows decision makers to set multiple segment aspiration levels for green supplier selection problems. The integrated model is illustrated by an example in a watch firm. First published online: 03 Nov 201

Evaluating online top selling products in Iran, by using fuzzy topsis method

Electronic commerce means electronic and nonphysical commercial interaction between consumers and producers or sellers of goods and services. Electronic commerce importance is rising significantly day by day, as a new channel for products distribution. This research seeks to prioritize the online top selling products in Iran. For this purpose, 8 criteria influencing on goods purchasing from commercial websites and 4 online top selling products were selected based on literature review and by using Delphi method

Application of a multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) model for selecting appropriate maintenance strategy for marine and offshore machinery operations

    Get PDF
The process of selecting appropriate maintenance strategy to enhance the operational efficiency of marine and offshore machinery under an uncertain environment is challenging due to the many criteria that need to be considered and modelled. In addition, the design of such complex machinery on-board a vessel consists of many subjective and imprecise parameters contained in different quantitative and qualitative forms. This paper proposes a strategic multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) methodology for the concise and straightforward selection of an appropriate maintenance strategy. The decision support structure allows the use of multiple decision makers to incorporate and aggregate their subjective opinions transparently. In the analysis, a Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Situation (TOPSIS) was employed to rank the maintenance strategies with respect to costs and benefits for their subsequent implementation. The purpose of using MAGDM in this paper is to aggregate and synthesise opinions of experts, thus, guiding them in decision making when they are planning to implement a cost effective maintenance investment. © 2019 Elsevier Lt
