Development of a smart supercapacitor energy storage system for aircraft electric power systems

    Get PDF
This paper presents the development of a supercapacitor energy storage system (ESS) aimed to minimize weight, which is very important for aerospace applications, whilst integrating smart functionalities like voltage monitoring, equalization, and overvoltage protection for the cells. The methodology for selecting the supercapacitor cells type/size is detailed to achieve the safest and most energy-dense ESS. Additionally, the development of the interface electronics for cells’ voltage monitoring and overvoltage protection is presented. The proposed design implements a modular distributed architecture coordinated using communication buses to minimize the wirings and associated complexity and to enable system reconfiguration and expansions, as well as fault diagnoses. Validating the proposed ESS functionalities has been done via experimental testing and the results are presented and discussed

BackgroundWith the rapid development of higher education in China, the scale of colleges and universities is expanding, and the phenomenon of campus socialization is becoming more and more obvious. In particular, the campus and its surrounding environment are becoming more and more complex, which brings many hidden dangers in university life.ObjectiveIn order to improve the effectiveness of safety education in colleges and universities and maintain the long-term effectiveness of college students’ safety awareness, the paper proposes the construction and practice path of college safety education mechanism that integrates the psychological characteristics of students in the new era.MethodsSecurity issues facing universities at home, this track identifies the relationship between campus security incidents and security education and advocacy. Eight solutions to prevent and reduce incidents in schools. The paper proposes to give importance to the study of the security of college students, to create an awareness of security questions in the bank based on the recommendation algorithm, and to create to have online learning and testing for safety awareness.ResultsThe passing rate of 10 majors such as humanities, composition and theory of composition technology was 100%, accounting for 12% of the 83 enrolled majors, and the passing rate of 54 majors such as clinical medicine was over 90%.ConclusionThe safety online learning and testing system of college students’ safety education is lively in form and highly accepted by students. The development of college students’ safety education starts from the time of receiving the university admission notice, making full use of the “golden time,” so as to effectively prevent and reduce the occurrence of campus safety accidents

Energy, Science and Technology 2015. The energy conference for scientists and researchers. Book of Abstracts, EST, Energy Science Technology, International Conference & Exhibition, 20-22 May 2015, Karlsruhe, Germany

We are pleased to present you this Book of Abstracts, which contains the submitted contributions to the "Energy, Science and Technology Conference & Exhibition EST 2015". The EST 2015 took place from May, 20th until May, 22nd 2015 in Karlsruhe, Germany, and brought together many different stakeholders, who do research or work in the broad field of "Energy". Renewable energies have to present a relevant share in a sustainable energy system and energy efficiency has to guarantee that conventional as well as renewable energy sources are transformed and used in a reasonable way. The adaption of existing infrastructure and the establishment of new systems, storages and grids are necessary to face the challenges of a changing energy sector. Those three main topics have been the fundament of the EST 2015, which served as a platform for national and international attendees to discuss and interconnect the various disciplines within energy research and energy business. We thank the authors, who summarised their high-quality and important results and experiences within one-paged abstracts and made the conference and this book possible. The abstracts of this book have been peer-reviewed by an international Scientific Programme Committee and are ordered by type of presentation (oral or poster) and topics. You can navigate by using either the table of contents (page 3) or the conference programme (starting page 4 for oral presentations and page 21 for posters respectively)

Integration of Renewables in Power Systems by Multi-Energy System Interaction

    Get PDF
This book focuses on the interaction between different energy vectors, that is, between electrical, thermal, gas, and transportation systems, with the purpose of optimizing the planning and operation of future energy systems. More and more renewable energy is integrated into the electrical system, and to optimize its usage and ensure that its full production can be hosted and utilized, the power system has to be controlled in a more flexible manner. In order not to overload the electrical distribution grids, the new large loads have to be controlled using demand response, perchance through a hierarchical control set-up where some controls are dependent on price signals from the spot and balancing markets. In addition, by performing local real-time control and coordination based on local voltage or system frequency measurements, the grid hosting limits are not violated
