    Bibliometric analysis on Hand Gesture Controlled Robot

    This paper discusses about the survey and bibliometric analysis of hand gesture-controlled robot using Scopus database in analyzing the research by area, influential authors, countries, institutions, and funding agencies. The 293 documents are extracted from the year 2016 till 6th March 2021 from the database. Bibliometric analysis is the statistical analysis of the research published as articles, conference papers, and reviews, which helps in understanding the impact of publication in the research domain globally. The visualization analysis is done with open-source tools namely GPS Visualizer, Gephi, VOS viewer, and ScienceScape. The visualization aids in a quick and clear understanding of the different perspective as mentioned above in a particular research domain search

    A framework to design smart manufacturing systems for Industry 5.0 based on the human-automation symbiosis

    The concept of Industry 5.0 (I5.0) promotes the human-centricity as the core value behind the evolution of smart manufacturing systems (SMSs), based on a novel use of digital technologies in the design and management of modern industrial systems to take up the socio-technical challenges. In this context, the paper proposes a Smart Manufacturing Systems Design (SMSD) framework enabling I5.0, based on the human-automation symbiosis. Thanks to an 'Augmented Digital Twin' (ADT) able to integrate and digitize all the entities of the factory (i.e. machines, robots, environments, interfaces, people), AI-driven applications can be built to support the user domain and make people and machines co-evolve thanks to a systematic data sharing between physical and digital assets (e.g. digital twin, virtual mock-ups, human-machine interfaces), optimizing factory productivity and workers wellbeing. In this framework, machines and humans can both generate knowledge and learn from each other, generating a virtuous co-evolution, supporting the understanding of the human-machine interplay and the creation of an effective collaboration between people and SMSs. The framework was conceived and validated involving four industrial companies, belonging to diverse sectors, interested in overcoming the current limits of I4.0 lines by including the human factors for future SMS management

    Detection of Interaction-based Knowledge for Reclassification of Service Robots: Big Data Analytics Perspective

    With the advancement of artificial intelligence technology, the robot industry in human- robot interactive service has rapidly developed. The purpose of this paper is to uncover user acceptance of human-robot interactive service robots based on online reviews. Extract reviews the public service robots and the domestic service robots from YouTube uses word2vec, sentiment classification, and LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) analysis methods for research. The results show that in the interactive technology, the public service robots, the domestic service robots, and the service robots can well receive the user’s speech, gestures, and understanding of emotional states and navigating with and around. However, collaborating with humans, users may be more fearful and worried. At the same time, the positive topic of the public service robots is experience value, and the negative topic is system quality. The positive topic of the domestic service robots is anthropomorphism, and the negative topic is perceived intelligence

    People interact with the processes and products of contemporary technology. Individuals are affected by these in various ways and individuals shape them. Such interactions come under the label 'human factors'. To expand the understanding of those to whom the term is relatively unfamiliar, its domain includes both an applied science and applications of knowledge. It means both research and development, with implications of research both for basic science and for development. It encompasses not only design and testing but also training and personnel requirements, even though some unwisely try to split these apart both by name and institutionally. The territory includes more than performance at work, though concentration on that aspect, epitomized in the derivation of the term ergonomics, has overshadowed human factors interest in interactions between technology and the home, health, safety, consumers, children and later life, the handicapped, sports and recreation education, and travel. Two aspects of technology considered most significant for work performance, systems and automation, and several approaches to these, are discussed

    Assistive robotic device: evaluation of intelligent algorithms

    Assistive robotic devices can be used to help people with upper body disabilities gaining more autonomy in their daily life. Although basic motions such as positioning and orienting an assistive robot gripper in space allow performance of many tasks, it might be time consuming and tedious to perform more complex tasks. To overcome these difficulties, improvements can be implemented at different levels, such as mechanical design, control interfaces and intelligent control algorithms. In order to guide the design of solutions, it is important to assess the impact and potential of different innovations. This paper thus presents the evaluation of three intelligent algorithms aiming to improve the performance of the JACO robotic arm (Kinova Robotics). The evaluated algorithms are 'preset position', 'fluidity filter' and 'drinking mode'. The algorithm evaluation was performed with 14 motorized wheelchair's users and showed a statistically significant improvement of the robot's performance.Comment: 4 page
