AKSESIBILITAS ANAK TERHADAP MEDIA : INTERNET SEHAT BAGI ANAK

    Get PDF
Children have wide access to media in this millennial century. It can be said that most of children are connected to the media, especially the internet. Television is no longer the main medium used by children to get entertainment, but has been replaced by the internet. The overload information that children receive should be accompanied by good information that they can filter. Healthy internet for children is a guide that should be used as a reference for parents in facilitating their children to surf the internet. This is intended so that children can filter information that is really needed for them

Social Media Data in an Augmented Reality System for Situation Awareness Support in Emergency Control Rooms

    Get PDF
During crisis situations, emergency operators require fast information access to achieve situation awareness and make the best possible decisions. Augmented reality could be used to visualize the wealth of user-generated content available on social media and enable context-adaptive functions for emergency operators. Although emergency operators agree that social media analytics will be important for their future work, it poses a challenge to filter and visualize large amounts of social media data. We conducted a goal-directed task analysis to identify the situation awareness requirements of emergency operators. By collecting tweets during two storms in Germany we evaluated the usefulness of Twitter data for achieving situation awareness and conducted interviews with emergency operators to derive filter strategies for social media data. We synthesized the results by discussing how the unique interface of augmented reality can be used to integrate social media data into emergency control rooms for situation awareness support.publishedVersio

    Distributed One-class Learning

We propose a cloud-based filter trained to block third parties from uploading privacy-sensitive images of others to online social media. The proposed filter uses Distributed One-Class Learning, which decomposes the cloud-based filter into multiple one-class classifiers. Each one-class classifier captures the properties of a class of privacy-sensitive images with an autoencoder. The multi-class filter is then reconstructed by combining the parameters of the one-class autoencoders. The training takes place on edge devices (e.g. smartphones) and therefore users do not need to upload their private and/or sensitive images to the cloud. A major advantage of the proposed filter over existing distributed learning approaches is that users cannot access, even indirectly, the parameters of other users. Moreover, the filter can cope with the imbalanced and complex distribution of the image content and the independent probability of addition of new users. We evaluate the performance of the proposed distributed filter using the exemplar task of blocking a user from sharing privacy-sensitive images of other users. In particular, we validate the behavior of the proposed multi-class filter with non-privacy-sensitive images, the accuracy when the number of classes increases, and the robustness to attacks when an adversary user has access to privacy-sensitive images of other users

This study aims to analyze the Alpha Generation's perspective on the use of technology to filter actual information through social media. Generation Alpha refers to individuals born between 2010 and 2025, who grow up and live in an increasingly connected digital age. In an information-abundant environment, it is important to understand how these young people use technology to access and filter current information. This study uses narrative inquiry. This research was conducted with 3 participants, with an average age of 13-15 years. This research is expected to be able to examine the perspective of the alpha generation in exploring social media to filter actual information. This research aims to help academics, practitioners, and other stakeholders better understand and support young people to deal with the challenges of 'bird' information in today's rapidly developing digital era by providing a deeper understanding of the use of technology and social media in filtering information actual information. This study is grounded in the theory of digital literacy levels proposed by Lankshear and Knobel (2011: 167). The study found three 13-15-year-old children of the Alpha generation, who value accessibility and speed in obtaining information through social media. They value personalization and engage in online conversations, demonstrating critical skills in filtering information, verifying information, and contributing to social change

Nearly one-fifth of the world\u27s population lacks access to safe, reliable sources of drinking water. Point of use (POU) household water treatment technology allows people to improve the quality of their water by treating it in the home. A promising emerging POU technology is the biosand filter (BSF). The BSF is a household-scale, intermittently operated slow sand filter that maintains a wet media bed containing a schmutzdecke and allows periodic water dosing by the user. Step input chemical tracer tests indicated that the BSF operates at near-plug flow conditions. Six-to-eight week longitudinal challenge studies were conducted with daily charges of surface water spiked with E. coli strain B bacteria, coliphages MS2 and PRD-1 and human enteric virus echovirus type 12. The BSF ripened in a manner similar to conventional SSFs. Flow rate slowed and microbial reductions improved over time with ripening. E. coli reductions were ~90% following filter startup but improved to 95—99.5% over time. Microbial reductions were greater with greater residence time within the filter, especially for water retained in the filter bed overnight. E. coli and echovirus 12 reductions were greater than those of coliphages MS2 and PRD-1

Communication/Culture and the Sustainable Development Goals (CCSDG): Challenges for a New Generation, Chiang Mai University, Thailand, December 17-21, 2015The rapid development of media technology makes teenagers easy access to media. Although the development of media technology allows ease of access, but also paradoxically presenting media information overload and possible loss of local cultural values due to intrusion of foreign cultures. Since media are ubiquitous, it cause media have a role in everyone's life. Impact of media presence can be positive or negative. The impact of the media is determined by the ability to consume media critically. Knowledge about media literacy will help teenagers in distinguishing which information that should be consumed from the media. This ability can be helped with ownership selecting filter media materials that are beneficial to their needs. Cultural values to be one of the filters that can be used in media literacy. This paper is the result of research conducted in Yogyakarta. It is interesting to find out how people put local wisdom as the basis of society in contact with the media. Yogyakarta is known as a centre of Javanese culture. People in this p lace hold the traditions of society as a part of way of life, so that Yogyakarta is known as a city of culture. People are trying to preserve the traditions of society. These activities enrich the study of media literacy based on local wisdom. Local wisdom contained in the culture leads people to act and behave towards the media. By using a qualitative approach with ethnography method, the authors sought to explore local wisdom possessed by the people of Yogyakarta. Local wisdom is used by teenagers to respond changes brought by the influence of mass media. Data of local wisdom are categorized in order to have a map related to media exposure. In conclusion, local wisdom mapping is useful in creating media literacy strategy for teenager
