The use of Information Technology for the process of delivering information has grown so rapidly. One of them is Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality is widely implemented for various things, including in the world of education, health, military, entertainment and many others. Augmented Reality is a technology that combines virtual objects and the real world in real-time and interactively. This research developed an Augmented Reality Application that can be used to introduce Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Walisongo more broadly, attractively, interactively, and competitively. This application is named AR UINWS. Agile methodology was chosen to develop AR UINWS. The results show that the agile methodology is suitable to be implemented because of its flexibility, so that the needs of developing applications can be easily adapted. AR UINWS works well on all types of android devices that have a minimum camera resolution of 720x1280 pixels. AR UINWS can detect markers if the marker surface is visible at least 65% of the total marker surface area. This application can detect markers of various sizes as long as the background is light. The size of the marker that can be detected is 1.5x2 cm with the minimum distance between the marker and the android device is 1 5cm. While the largest marker size being tested is 15x23cm with the minimum distance between the marker and the android device is 150 cm

With the development of autonomous development technology, the need for additional applications to be used inside and outside the vehicle is increasing. As a result of the literature review, many applications have been developed to display vehicle data directly on the monitor, with reflections on glass, and on hardware devices. These applications have been developed only for a defined problem and for a particular autonomous system. In this study, a basic autonomous vehicle software infrastructure and mobile Augmented Reality application that can work on Android devices have been developed. The Mobile Augmented Reality app serves inside and outside the vehicle. In addition, this application has been shown to support multiple autonomous system infrastructures

The heart is the most important organ of the human body. The heart is the most important organ of the human body. But due to the lack of practice and knowledge of people about the mechanism of heat flow, many of the students do not understand how the heart works. Learning media that are directly related to the heart such as visual aids can only be found in certain places, so not everyone can know for sure how the heart shape apart from the video or reading media. With the development of technology today, thus encouraging the educational process to be more interesting and applicable in order to improve the quality of education and learning interests of learners. Virtual Reality learning media (VR) are a technique of displaying objects directly where users can interact directly with objects that have been prepared in a virtual space created. The development of an application that aims to show interactive 3D learning media using 3D animation and simulation of the circulation of blood and human heart as much as 3 parts. This is intended to facilitate users, especially for students and the public in recognizing the human circulatory system interactively

A review on predictive maintenance technique for nuclear reactor cooling system using machine learning and augmented reality

    Get PDF
Reactor TRIGA PUSPATI (RTP) is the only research nuclear reactor in Malaysia. Maintenance of RTP is crucial which affects its safety and reliability. Currently, RTP maintenance strategies used corrective and preventative which involved many sensors and equipment conditions. The existing preventive maintenance method takes a longer time to complete the entire system’s maintenance inspection. This study has investigated new predictive maintenance techniques for developing RTP predictive maintenance for primary cooling systems using machine learning (ML) and augmented reality (AR). Fifty papers from recent referred publications in the nuclear areas were reviewed and compared. Detailed comparison of ML techniques, parameters involved in the coolant system and AR design techniques were done. Multiclass support vector machines (SVMs), artificial neural network (ANN), long short-term memory (LSTM), feed forward back propagation (FFBP), graph neural networks-feed forward back propagation (GNN-FFBP) and ANN were used for the machine learning techniques for the nuclear reactor. Temperature, water flow, and water pressure were crucial parameters used in monitoring a nuclear reactor. Image marker-based techniques were mainly used by smart glass view and handheld devices. A switch knob with handle switch, pipe valve and machine feature were used for object detection in AR markerless technique. This study is significant and found seven recent papers closely related to the development of predictive maintenance for a research nuclear reactor in Malaysia

INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF ECONOMIC, POLITICAL, AND SOCIAL FACTORS ON AUGMENTED REALITY TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE IN AGRICULTURE (LIVESTOCK FARMING) SECTOR IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

The discussion of the factors affecting the tendency to accept new technologies in developing countries is very important. Lack of use of modern technologies in developing countries, especially in the agricultural (livestock farming) sector, leads to negative effects on the quality and quantity of products and the country loses its ability to compete in the international arena. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting on Augmented Reality technology acceptance in the agricultural (livestock) sector of Iran. In this research, the dependent variable is a qualitative variable that is classified into five levels based on the theory of experts using the SWARA method. The dependent variable indicates the ability (awareness) and capability (financially) of a person to accept AR technology. We used the Multinomial Logit model due to the dependent variable is nominal and has more than two categories. The results showed that, the variables of public participation, and education have a significant effect on the willingness to adopt Augmented Reality technology at all levels among farmers.  But variable costs and the number of family labor do not have a significant effect on the willingness to accept Augmented Reality technology. The policy recommendations of this research are that councils can play an important role in raising the level of public participation and conveying the demands of the people to the government. To do this, they must receive the necessary training in order to attract public participation. This is possible through training workshops to increase the level of farmers’ awareness. &nbsp

Augmented Reality Trends to the Field of Business and Economics: A Review of 20 years of Research

    Get PDF
Augmented Reality (AR) is emerging as a technology that is reshaping the current society, especially the fields of Business and Economics (B&E). Therefore, the scientific studies produced on AR call for an interdisciplinary systematic review of the knowledge generated to structure an organized framework. Three main questions are addressed: How has the production of AR scientific knowledge evolved? What user-related aspects does AR affect? Also, which set of subtopics is associated with each motivation to develop an AR solution? The content of 328 papers produced between 1997 and 2016 in the field of AR is analyzed, unveiling 58 coding categories. There are 13 digital media characteristics that assume instrumental roles in addressing four major motivations to develop AR solutions. Technological topics dominate the research focus over behavioral ones. The investigations on AR in mobile displays show the highest increase. This research identifies the main scientific topics that have led researchers' agenda. Consequently, they contributed to develop and to adopt AR solutions and to forecast its future application in the organizations' strategiesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Intro: This paper presents an advance overview of utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) in smart cities. Although, Smart cities contain six major aspects (mobility, economy, government, environment, living, and people), this paper focuses on three of them that have more potentiality in using virtual assistant (mobility, environment, and living). Methodology: Presenting a state-of-the-art review studies undertake between 2013 and 2017, which is driven from highlighted libraries is the aim of this research. After exact examine, 15 emphasized studies are chosen to divide the main aspects while 120 selective articles are supporting them. These categorizes have been critically compared with an aim, method and chronological perspectives. Results: First of All, Environmental issues (Museums industry) attract the most attention of researchers while the living issues (maintenance) have lower significant compare t latter and mobility (indoor-outdoor navigation) attract the least. Moreover, a close connection between academic and industry fields is going to be created. Conclusions: it has been concluded that, because of economic advantages, utilizing AR technology has improved in the tourism and maintenance. Moreover, until now, most of studies try to prove their concept rather than illustrate well stablished analytic approach. Because of hardware and software improvement, it is essential for the future studies to evaluate their hypothesis in a real urban context
