«The Surrealists», on the centenary of Mário Cesariny and Mário-Henrique Leiria
This article seeks to examine the roots of the organized surrealism in Portugal, in the second half of the 1940s, starting with the dialogue between two young poets, Mário Cesariny and Alexandre O’Neill, who were in-strumental in the formation of the Surrealist Group of Lisbon (1947-1950). An attempt is made to understand the tensions that erupted within this group, leading to the resignation and departure of Mário Cesariny and António Domingues in the summer of 1948 and the subsequent formation of the group «The Surrealists» (1949-1952). This group emerged from encounters with a new set of personali-ties, including notable figures such as Cruzeiro Seixas, António Maria Lisboa, and Mário-Henrique Leiria, providing a renewed consistency to surrealist intervention in Portugalinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Justiça e Juízes de Foro. Justiça e Juízes de Fora
This study deals with the link between jurisdiction judges, therefore agents of municipal power, and juízes de fora, delegates of royal power. Initially we outline the major signs of the control of local power by sovereigns, essentially translated into the nomination of magistrates and judges for municipalities by the King, and we will seek to characterize these magistrates. Then we discuss the evolution of internal municipal justice and the increase in the number of justice officials. We conclude with the municipalities’ appeals submitted to the Parliament in order to judge the agreements and disagreements of jurisdictional justice and outside justice

‘Escapando de la clase tradicional’: the escape rooms methodology within the spanish as foreign language classroom
The escape games or the so-called escape rooms industry is booming nowadays. Due to the fact that this type of live-action team-based games (Nicholson, 2016) require a great deal of communication and critical thinking, it is quite easy to think of its application in education. This paper aims at discussing how to use escape room concepts for educational purposes and, more specifically, in Spanish as Foreign Language (SFL) classroom. Moreover, it is also our aim to present a case study in which students were invited to both create and participate in an escape room. Therefore, we will be focusing on escape room design applied to the teaching of the SFL setting, taking into consideration game narratives, puzzle types and rooms organization aspects. By following an ethnographic methodological approach, a case study was undertaken in which the following data-collection tools were used: a) questionnaires to figure out students’ perceptions on escape rooms and on the influence of escape room methodologies onto the development of skills; b) field notes, pictures and videos collected during the application of the escape room activities. The main results show that students considered both escape rooms catered for the development of 21st-century skills.

Ecclesiastical Support to the Master of Avis: An Analysis from the Aclamation Act of 1385
The death of king Fernando of Portugal in October 1383 without male heirs opened a succesion
crisis. Despite the studies that have been made concerning the composition of the factions that
supported the various pretenders to the throne, in special about the participation of town elites and nobility,
there are still few contributions on the participation of the clergy in the conflict. This is a matter
of great importance, given the religious character of the royal power in the legitimation of kings and
dynasties, in particular in a period marked by the Schism of the Catholic Church. Therefore, starting
from the list of signatories and witnesses of the acclamation act of João I, made in the cortes of Coimbra
in 1385, our aim is to analyse the participation of the clergy in the fight for the throne, identifying the
main protagonists of each party and the reasons for their positions, as well as the consequences for their
later ecclesiastic and political careers
