Über den Einsatz medienadäquater Präsentationsformen im Fremdsprachenunterricht : Darstellung der Methode und Anmerkungen zum thematisierten Inhalt

Mit Germanistikstudierenden aus Polen wurden Inhalte so aufbereitet, dass die Teilnehmer nicht nur schriftliche, sondern auch visuelle Informationen erhielten. Damit sollten Verstehensprozesse erleichtert werden. Der Beitrag stellt das Vorgehen vor. Ergänzend findet sich eine Anmerkung bezüglich der anlassgebenden inhaltlichen Frage: In der Unterrichtseinheit wurde diskutiert, ob die deutsche Sprache zugunsten des Englischen beziehungsweise zugunsten von Mischformen (des, Denglischen\u27) auf dem Rückzug sei. Somit verweist das Thema auf ein virulentes Diskussionsthema zur Legitimation des Deutschunterrichts und damit auch zur Legitimation (künftiger) Deutschlehrer im Ausland. Als Ergebnis einer empirischen Recherche hat sich gezeigt, dass das Deutsche, entgegen der Klischees und Vorurteile, auch im Rahmen journalistischer Texte (Reportagen) sehr fremdwortresistent ist. Zudem fällt auf, dass das Englische einen zwar vielleicht sehr auffälligen, insgesamt aber (dennoch) ausgesprochen begrenzten Einfluss hat. In den Textbeispielen dominieren deutlich die, alten Sprachen’ Griechisch und Latein sowie das Französische. Insgesamt waren die polnischen Studierenden – auch angesichts der zitierten Klagen – über das Ergebnis sehr überrascht. Der didaktische Zweck konnte also uneingeschränkt erreicht werden. Die visuelle Darstellung war medienadäquat, inhaltlich angemessen und sinnvoll.Polish students of German as a foreign language had to prepare contents not in only a written, but also in a visual form, so that cognitive understanding would be facilitated. The present paper presents the procedure. In addition, some remarks will be made on the topic of this didactisation: We discussed whether German is on a decline in favor of English or of mixed forms (,Germish’). Thus, the topic seemed to refer to a virulent discussion that might have some importance within the legitimization strategies of (future) teachers of German, especially German teachers abroad. As a result of the empirical research presented here, German, contrary to wide-spread stereotypes and prejudices, even in the context of journalistic texts is rather resistant to foreign words. It is also noticeable that English has a rather eye-catching, but relatively limited influence. In our examples, there is a clear domination of the old languages Greek and Latin, and of French. All in all, Polish students were quite surprised about the result that contradict common complaints. The methodological purpose therefore seemed to be fully achieved.
